I Have A Baby From My Ex-Husband's Enemy-Chapter 55: Our First Date
They went to the dining room on the ship after the clock struck dinner time. Holding Sean’s arm, Odelia followed him into the restaurant and sat in an empty chair.
The place was quiet and romantic, followed by the peaceful sounds of classical music. Opening dinner became very relaxing between the two of them.
"How does your steak taste?" asked Sean while enjoying his own meal.
"Very good, the meat was tender and so was the mashed potato," Odelia replied and drank her iced tea.
"You’re still breastfeeding, so you can’t drink wine yet."
Odelia smiled and said no problem, she did like wine but she didn’t really like alcohol. So even if she drank it, Odelia only drank a little.
Therefore at the moment she didn’t really mind it or crave wine. 𝑓𝓇𝘦ℯ𝘸𝘦𝑏𝓃𝑜𝘷ℯ𝑙.𝑐𝑜𝓂
"Alcohol is not a good drink, so don’t drink too much," he said.
"But when I first met you, I saw you drunk in the hotel lobby. That means you drank too much, right?"
He shook his head. "Actually, I don’t really remember how much I drank. But I do remember that I shouldn’t have been drinking so much," Sean explained.
What he could remember was that Sean was invited to the birthday party of one of the managers who worked at his company. At first he didn’t want to attend, but since the manager had worked well for almost 7 years in his company, Sean accepted the invitation.
"The manager of your company? Oh he must want to thank you for giving him that position," said Odelia.
"Not him, but her. Her name is Sophie, at first I thought so, that’s why I accepted and since I thought it would be quite late, I chose to stay at the hotel," explained Sean.
She nodded in understanding and continued with their dinner.
Finished with dinner, they went back to the open area to see the beautiful night sky. Since they were in a fairly dark ocean, the stars in the sky could be seen decorating the night. Plus the moonlight was so bright.
The sea breeze was blowing gently, but the chill was enough to pierce the skin.
"You know, this is like our first date together. Just you and me, before we went when you were still pregnant. Now you don’t have to get tired carrying our baby anymore," Sean said as he rubbed the shoulder of Odelia who was in his arms.
"Yes, much more relieved than before. I’m glad I was able to give birth to Carmelia in good health."
"Not only is she healthy, she’s also very beautiful like you. And I was so happy when I saw you successfully give birth to her."
She chuckled then leaned towards him, her eyes closed for a moment, feeling the warmth of Sean’s body in the middle of the cold night.
For now, Odelia didn’t want to think about anything first. She just wanted to calm her mind for a moment while listening to Sean’s heartbeat which made her feel loved.
"Losing someone, it’s very painful. Every time I close my eyes, I think of the deaths of my parents and my ex-fiancé," Sean said suddenly.
Odelia raised her head and looked at her husband.
"I unconsciously distanced myself from everyone because I didn’t want to feel that sense of loss again."
"And do you still feel those fears and nightmares?" she asked.
He shook his head and took off his coat. "Not after I met you again and took you with me," he replied as he slung the coat over her shoulder.
"I promised myself to take good care of you and our baby so that I wouldn’t feel the same pain again. I shouldn’t pull myself away from it, but face it and try not to make the same mistake again."
His hands wrapped around Odelia’s waist from behind, pulling her into his warm embrace.
"And in the end you succeeded, you protected me and our baby well until she was finally born into this world," Odelia added which made Sean smile.
Sean nodded, saying that he did manage to do it but that didn’t mean it was over. He wanted to make sure Carmelia and her future siblings could grow up well. Can become someone who is successful in their own way and happy with their choices.
"I will also make sure you are mine forever, Odelia. Ensure that my beautiful wife will always be with me," he continued to explain and kissed Odelia’s neck from behind.
She gasped in surprise, even moaning as Sean suddenly left a love mark on her neck.
This was the first love mark after the night they made love in the hotel. This time the mark was given with full awareness and love. Not out of desire and lust.
"Sean..." She looked back, staring at the man with a flushed face and such a sweet expression in Sean’s eyes.
He felt like he was going to lose his mind right then and there. Seeing how that woman was looking at him. Her smooth and soft skin, he even left love marks because he wanted to.
’Damn, don’t look at me like that. I feel like doing it to you right here and now,’ he thought trying to restrain himself.
Without saying anything, Sean gently pulled the back of her head towards him and kissed her deeply. Odelia’s body was pushed up against the ship’s railing, but his strong arms swiftly pulled her waist closer to him.
Keeping his wife’s body from falling, and staying in his arms. Their bodies pressed against each other, Sean looked hungry to touch Odelia after he had tried to hold back for several months when she was pregnant.
The surprised Odelia did not resist but returned his kiss. To be honest she also missed Sean’s touch on her, after all she wasn’t like the one who got drunk while making love at the hotel, but was fully conscious it was just that she couldn’t push him away.
However, this time she didn’t have to fight it because he was her husband now.
’Damn, that feels so sweet. If it’s like this, I really can’t help myself,’ he thought.
But Sean immediately gathered his wits to stop. He knew Odelia’s stitches weren’t completely dry yet, it would take time for him to be able to make love to her so she wouldn’t feel any pain.
"Sean..."
"Ssshh... I’m sorry, I know I should have waited," he said then carried Odelia bridal style to their room on the ship.
Sean laid Odelia down on the bed then also lay down next to her and hugged her warmly.
"Sorry, you’ll have to wait a few weeks for that," Odelia said with a sad face seeing how much Sean wanted her, and so did she.
He took her hand that was caressing his cheek and kissed her palm. "It’s okay, you don’t have to think about it too much. I’ll wait patiently. Now get some sleep and tomorrow we’ll go home."
Her eyes closed and Seann kissed her forehead as he rubbed her head. He knew it was frustrating, but it was all for Odelia’s comfort too.
However, something suddenly popped into his head and interrupted his thoughts when he had to remember that the two of them could not get married because of Odelia’s status as Vincent’s wife.
’I have to do something to deal with this and make her mine forever.’
