Chapter 57: Argue In The Morning

The next morning, Samuel slowly woke up from his sleep. He felt better than before but his shoulder was very sore. He turned his head and saw Megan sleeping on his shoulder.

’Huh? S-she slept on my shoulder? Since when, last night?’ he thought in surprise then noticed her innocent face.

Such a beautiful and calm face. His hand gently brushed Megan’s bangs, even removing the hair that covered her face.

’She’s so calm when she’s sleeping. Has she been like this since last night? Her neck must be hurting.’

Feeling Samuel’s hand on her head, she opened her eyes and looked up at him. Her black eyes looked straight into his brown ones.

Their faces were so close to each other that they both finally realized what was in front of them.

"AAHHHHHH!!!"

BRUK!

Megan reflexively pushed Samuel away until he fell off the couch. She only woke up after seeing him on the floor.

"H-hey, I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to do that to you! I was just surprised!"

"Ukh f*ck! It hurts you know?"

"I’m sorry! Really!" She reached out to Samuel and extended her hand but he brushed it away and stood up on his own.

"Never mind, forget it. You’re really annoying," he said.

She pouted then looked down at herself. Megan realized that she had just slept next to Samuel and immediately covered herself.

"Wait... You didn’t do anything to me last night, right?! You didn’t touch me, right?" she asked frantically while covering her own chest.

"Are you serious? There’s no way I did that. Especially with an old woman like you," Samuel replied.

"Who are you calling an old woman!"

In the morning that had just begun, they were again fighting with each other like the previous few days. Grumpy Samuel argued with chatty Megan. Their argument was heard all the way to the kitchen where Dasha was cooking breakfast.

"Those two are fighting again? They got along so well last night by taking care of Carmelia. They’re like children," she said, shaking her head and sighing.

By 9 o’clock, Sean and Odelia arrived home. The two of them looked even more romantic together, especially after the passionate hot kiss they had on the boat, right under the beautiful moonlight.

"Look who’s finally home. How was your dinner?" asked Megan, who approached her brother and sister-in-law.

"Dinner was very romantic and beautiful. I’m glad Sean took me there. How about Carmelia, she didn’t have a tantrum last night, did she?" asked Odelia.

Hearing that question, Megan didn’t want to make Odelia feel guilty for leaving the baby girl with her and the others. So Megan deliberately lied that Carmelia only asked for milk last night and then went back to sleep.

Knowing this, Odelia felt very relieved and she and Sean went up to the second floor to see their baby.

Inside the room, Carmelia was fast asleep in her crib. However, sensing her parents’ presence, she immediately opened her eyes because she could finally see them again.

"Hello dear, mom is home. How did you sleep last night, hmn?"

Carmelia smiled when she heard Odelia’s voice, she recognized her mother’s voice. Sean, who had finished washing his hands and changing his clothes, immediately lifted his daughter’s body and hugged her.

"Daddy here, did you sleep well?" he asked and then he lay down on the bed with Carmelia on his chest.

The baby tried to lift her head although she still found it difficult. Sean smiled as he gently rubbed her head.

"Come on, you can do it, I’m sure you can do it," Sean said, encouraging her.

Since Sean was holding Carmelia, Odelia went to the bathroom to clean herself and then breastfeed their daughter. However, after taking a shower she found her husband and their baby already fast asleep.

"Huh? So fast, or did I take too long in the bathroom?" she muttered.

She walked over to them, and saw Sean’s hand holding Carmelia’s body from falling off his chest. Meanwhile, Carmelia was already fast asleep on top of her father’s body.

’They’re really cute,’ thought Odelia who immediately grabbed her cell phone and took a picture of the two of them. She made it the wallpaper of her new phone.

Worried that Carmelia would fall because Sean was too sound asleep, she lifted her baby body over Sean’s. But he reflexively woke up and turned to her.

"Have you finished your shower?"

"Yes, sorry to wake you. I’m just worried that Carmelia will fall later," Odelia said.

"No, I’ll take good care of her. Just lay her down on our bed," said Sean, which Odelia immediately did.

Carmelia was laid next to Sean who immediately embraced the baby’s body. She smiled again at the happy sight.

Knock knock

"Odelia, are you resting? Can I talk to you for a moment?" came Samuel’s voice from behind the door.

"Sure, wait a minute," she replied and then used her pillow to become a barrier next to Carmelia.

She walked out of the room and approached Samuel and Dasha who were sitting on the sofa. Odelia sat next to them and asked what they wanted to talk about.

Samuel said that he had to go home tonight because he had been called to work by his boss. So he couldn’t stay at Zondalia for too long.

"I’m going home too, I don’t want to go home alone by plane," Dasha told her.

"But you’ve only been here for four days..."

"I know it’s too sudden, but I have work to do and it’s impossible for mom to go home alone. So we have no other choice, Odelia," Samuel replied.

What Samuel said was true, there was no way Odelia could forbid them to go. So she could only nod.

Although she actually still wanted to be with the two of them, but they also had something to do.

In the afternoon Megan took Samuel and Dasha to the airport. Dasha had asked Megan not to do it and to take a taxi instead. But she didn’t mind and drove them anyway.

She even accompany them to the gate where their plane would board.

"Thank you for driving us, Megan," she said.

"No problem, Mrs. Grace. I also want to thank you for making the food for us. Your cooking is so good, I love it," Megan said as she returned his smile.

She really missed her mother who had cooked for her in the past. When Dasha walked in first. Samuel looked at Megan and they still had time to argue.

"I finally don’t have to see you anymore," he teased.

"That’s what I should have said!"

He grinned and patted Megan lightly on the head. "Don’t miss me."

The man then pulled his suitcase away after his mother. Megan was still silent when Samuel tapped her on the head. His words made her feel something. She should have been happy that she didn’t have to argue with Samuel anymore. But there was another feeling that was also there.

"I... might miss you."
