Chapter 81: Sean In Hospital?!

In the middle of the night Odelia woke up feeling something tighten in her chest. She sat up in bed and looked over to her side, where Sean usually slept. It felt so lonely when he wasn’t there.

"Why am I suddenly waking up in the middle of the night like this? I have bad feeling," she said and then picked up her cell phone to call Sean.

She looked at the clock and saw that it was still 12:30pm. When she checked her cell phone, Sean hadn’t reply her messages since seven in the evening. Thinking that her husband was staying at the hotel, Odelia tried to message him again.

[ODELIA]

Sean, are you okay? Are you staying at the hotel tonight?

Just a few minutes after she texted him, a call came in from Sean’s cell phone which startled her into thinking he was asleep. Odelia immediately answered the phone to see if Sean was okay.

"Hello? Did I wake you up? I’m sorry I just wanted to make sure you were okay," she said.

However, she heard a voice that was not Sean’s but another man who had a heavier and firmer voice than the telephone.

"Good evening, are you Mrs. Osbert?" the man asked.

"Yes, what is it and who are you? Why are you answering my husband’s phone?" asked Odelia feeling confused and worried because it wasn’t Sean who was calling her.

"Before that, were you at home at this time? Are there any other family members with you now?"

She was confused by the question because she didn’t know who was calling her. She innocently answered that it was just her and her daughter, but she had a feeling that if anything did happen, Sean’s men would handle it.

"I’m sorry if I haven’t introduced myself before. We’re from the West Zondalia police, my name is Officer Nolan. We wanted to let you know that your husband was in a car accident at 9:15pm. We haven’t had a chance to inform you yet because we are handling this matter," explained the man, which was enough to make Odelia shocked when she found out that Sean had an accident.

Of course at that moment she didn’t know what to say, she was completely alone without anyone who could calm her feelings of shock at this time.

Officer Nolan again said that Sean was currently in the hospital and was undergoing surgery due to a serious accident.

"Are there any other family members who can take you to the hospital? We need a family member to accompany the victim and provide a more detailed explanation of the accident," he continued.

Odelia was still silent and her tears were flowing, as well as her breathing, which immediately felt so tight. The police tried to calm her down, and gave her the address of the hospital to come immediately if they could.

After waking up from her shock, Odelia replied that she would be there soon. The call was finally turn off and she knew she didn’t have time to cry over this.

"Sean needs me and I need to be there for him," she said.

Quickly she grabbed the essentials to take with her then changed Carmelia’s clothes into something warmer to take her away with her.

She walked out of the house and met one of Sean’s men who was sitting watching their house.

"Mr. Jack, can you take me to the hospital in West Zondalia? Sean has had an accident and he’s currently there," she asked the man for help.

Just like Odelia, she was also surprised to find out and immediately asked his partner to get a car from where they were parked to take Odelia there.

They then drove to West Zondalia to see how Sean was doing. During the trip Odelia felt very anxious, scared and didn’t even know what to do. Her gaze was so blank but she realized that Carmelia was with her.

She was even hesitant to tell Megan about this. It was still the middle of the night and she was worried that Megan would panic and force herself to go to the hospital in a state of shock, in the middle of the night with her car.

"I’d better tell her in the morning so it’ll be brighter and less dangerous," she muttered in a voice that was still shaky and she was sobs back tears.

After three hours, they finally arrived at a large hospital in West Zondalia. Odelia went inside and met two police near the reception.

The woman approached them and told them that she was Sean’s wife.

"We’re glad you could come here safely Mrs. Osbert. Mr. Osbert was in a very bad accident because a truck hit the right side of the car in which Mr. Osbert was driving. He is currently in the operating room and is not out yet," explained one of the police.

They talked about the other man, Ronald, who survived although he was also seriously injured, but he is currently being treated well in one of the rooms.

Odelia was eager to go to the operating room and wait for her husband there. However, the nurse forbade her to go any further as she was carrying a baby.

"We’re sorry ma’am, children under 8 years old are not allowed to enter the hospital area any further as it is feared that a virus may get into them. You can leave her at the daycare center, where there will be another nurse to take care of your daughter," said the nurse.

Because she had no other choice, Odelia finally left Carmelia at the daycare in the hospital. She then went to the operating room and waited for Sean there.

She continued to sit, hoping that a miracle would happen where Sean would be okay and could go home with them. Odelia didn’t care if Sean took a few days to recover in the hospital, as long as he could go home healthy with her and Camelia.

Until finally, after hours of surgery, the doctor finally came out and immediately asked who the family of the victim was.

"I am his wife, how is my husband? Is he okay?"

"Your husband is very badly injured, even his right leg is broken and he almost can no longer use it but we have tried to repair and operate. However, Mr. Osbert is still in critical condition," the doctor replied.

The woman’s blue eyes widened in shock as she realized that her husband was in a coma.

She fell to the floor, confused about what to do at the moment. The policewoman who had been accompanying her immediately hugged Odelia to calm her down.
