Chapter 87: The Lost Hope

Vincent, on the other hand, just sat quietly in his room with Odelia’s picture filling the room. It had been almost two weeks since he had gone to his own company as he felt more and more that it was all pointless.

He even stopped going to rehabilitation and therapy for his current barrenness. Instead of feeling better, Vincent’s mental state got worse. Plus he was alone with no one to support him.

For him, why would he do all this if in the end Odelia couldn’t come back to him. He just wanted to have a child together with the woman he loved, but she was now in love with another man.

Now he really had no one around him because of what he had done. He could not firmly make decisions for Odelia’s sake in the past, Monica who turned out to have only wanted his property all along and his mother and younger sister now left him alone.

He had expected them to leave but not Odelia and now only emptiness was all he had.

Staring at every photo on the walls and around him while drinking the alcoholic beverage in his hand. There were already 4 other bottles lying around and even his face looked paler.

Vincent POV

In the end they all left me alone, I had to endure all this punishment by myself when they were the ones who made this fuss happen.

I had to bear all of this alone as I tried to defend what I had and what I loved. And now I’m alone together with you, my Odelia.

I stood up from where I was sitting and took a picture of the two of us on our honeymoon. It was my favorite moment especially when we were running around on the beach watching the sunset.

"Vin, look! There are so many flowers on our bed and... Oh! The pool is also filled with roses with the words... I love you Odelia. It’s so romantic!"

Now all that doesn’t mean anything to you anymore. You’re happy with him, and I don’t think there’s any point in me holding on to all these things that I’m almost going crazy over.

CRASH!

I threw the bottle in my hand and even screamed as loud as I could but no one came for me. I think this is enough. I can’t make you come back to me.

Therefore, it’s better for me to leave from here. I hope you’ll be happy together with him.

I picked up the lighter that was on my desk and I thought it would end like this.

Odelia, I loved you so much and now I realize that you no longer love me. I will let you go as long as you are happy with him.

Let me go and take all these memories with me. Don’t ever remember me again, you should be able to live your life with him

"You’ll definitely be much better off with someone else than with me, right?"

"You always say when you’re with me, you feel happy. But in reality you don’t feel that way and are actually tormented because I don’t understand what you feel behind your smile."

I lit the match in my hand and dropped it. The fire began to realize as the alcohol spilled on the floor burned one by one the photos on the walls and every corner of the room.

I picked up our wedding photo frame and sat on the edge of the bed we used to share. On this bed we shared all our love and stories for four years, but now it was just a cold, empty bed.

I closed my eyes, remembering all the memories we had shared together.

"Good morning, my husband. Today I made your favorite soup, wake up and let’s eat together," Odelia said, waking me up while rubbing my head.

"Vin, can you please buy the groceries? My head hurts so much. Yes, thank you, love." Odelia kissed me as she gave me the shopping list. I was happy to be able to help her.

"Vin, are you okay? It’s okay, I’m here with you." She hugged me so warmly and I could feel her great love for me.

Every smile, sadness, anger and all the things we’ve remembered over the years, replayed in my mind.

I smile remembering all of it, and wish I could see your smile one last time even though I know it’s impossible to get it again.

"Goodbye my Odelia, you will always be my last love even when death separates us, I will still love you."

Odelia fell asleep leaning against Sean’s bedside. She felt so tired and sleepy because she hadn’t slept last night. She kept thinking about Carmelia and wanted to go home to see her. However, there was no one to accompany Sean at the hospital, so she chose to stay there until Megan returned from out of town the next day.

Her stomach felt so hungry, and she had forgotten to buy food this afternoon. Since her stomach kept chirping, she stood up from her seat and intended to go to the cafeteria in the hospital.

"It’s 10:30 at night, there must be only a few that remain open. I guess it doesn’t matter, I’ll buy whatever I can eat there," she muttered then turned to Sean.

"I’ll go out for a while to buy some food. I’ll be back soon," Odelia said then kissed his cheek and left the room for a while.

She yawned because she was still sleepy, especially since the hospital hallway was so cold and also quiet at night. But it didn’t scare her, because during her time at the hospital she often faced such lonely places.

In the room where Sean was, his eyelids slowly moved.

His fingers began to move one by one indicating that the man had finally woken up from his coma.

And sure enough, his eyes slowly opened to reveal gray eyes.

His eyes glanced in all directions in the room, although he could not move his whole body yet.

This was followed by Odelia who returned and saw that Sean had finally opened his eyes. Of course she became very moved and also happy and immediately ran to her husband.

"Oh Sean I finally woke up! You finally opened your eyes again!" said Odelia who was so happy when she saw that her husband was awake after all this time.

Sean turned to her and noticed the crying woman nearby. The woman who had been holding his hand the whole time he was experiencing, even now that he was awake she looked very happy.

He tried to speak and opened his mouth until a weak voice finally escaped his lips.

"Who are you?"
