I Have A Baby From My Ex-Husband's Enemy-Chapter 90: Am I Burdening You?
Ever since Sean returned home after his accident and memory loss, he has been a bit different as things have made him have to get used to a life that he thinks is new even though he has been living for a long time.
Since his memory has also not recovered, he still stays at home with Odelia, Megan and Carmelia. Dasha decided to go home because she couldn’t leave the shop any longer and so Sean would feel more free without her in the house.
"So we sleep together?" asked Sean when he first found out he was sleeping with Odelia.
"Yes, we always sleep together. Are you uncomfortable? Do you want me to sleep in another room?" asked Odelia back.
"No, that’s not it. I’m just surprised. Keep sleeping with me, I need to get used to being with you," he replied.
Because not only to get used to it, Sean really needed Odelia’s help for his needs all the time.
Even in the middle of the night, sometimes he had to wake her up because he wanted to go to the bathroom.
"Odelia, sorry to wake you up. Can you help me to the bathroom?" Sean asked, waking his wife by gently tapping her shoulder.
"Huh? Oh right, it’s okay." She got up from her bed and helped Sean to walk towards the bathroom.
As the doctor said, Sean’s right leg had a very serious fracture. Unlike his arm which was slowly recovering, his right leg became difficult to bend and even use to walk. Sean would feel pain if he forced himself to walk.
Therefore, Odelia helped him walk up and down the stairs every day. Not only Odelia, if Megan was at home, then she took turns helping Sean.
"I’m sorry to trouble you, I hope my leg can recover quickly. The same goes for my memory," he said.
"Your leg will recover if you go regularly for treatment and therapy like the doctor said, but it will take a while. It’s okay, Megan and I will help you," Odelia replied and waited for Sean in front of the bathroom until he was finished.
Sean did his business then washed his face and looked in the mirror above the sink. He watched his face, feeling guilty for burdening Odelia who was already busy taking care of their infant daughter but he also had to keep taking care of himself who had difficulty walking.
’Every night she has to wake up if I need something that I can’t get myself. She also has to get up when Carmelia cries. Why am I this weak?’ he thought.
"Sean Osbert, I have not known who you are until now. I haven’t remembered who you were and what you were like in the past. But now I understand why you could love Odelia. I really understand why you promised to marry her," Sean said to himself in the mirror.
He sighed then walked to open the door, seeing Odelia asleep leaning against the wall. Seeing that, Sean felt even more guilty because he was sure Odelia was very tired but he had to take care of her like that.
"I’m sorry, you must be exhausted. If only there was something I could do to alleviate your fatigue," he murmured as he gently rubbed the head of Odelia who was slowly waking up.
"Hmn? Oh are you done? Let’s go back to sleep," she said with a smile and then took Sean’s hand again, helping him to walk and lie down on the bed.
They both went back to sleep because it was still the middle of the night. However, Sean couldn’t sleep because he kept thinking about himself being a burden to Odelia. He opened his eyes and looked at her face which was fast asleep.
It looked so beautiful and innocent when she was asleep. Sean stroked her cheek gently, feeling the softness of her cheek.
Sean was curious about his past with Odelia. What had he forgotten? He was sure they must have been wonderful memories.
However, none of them could be remembered. It made him very sad, he saw how everyone tried to make him remember what he was like, but there was nothing that he could finally remember.
His eyes were closed, trying to remember all the things that had happened in his life. But every time he tried to remember, his head would hurt so much that he had to stop doing it. It was just that if he continued to do so, Sean felt there was no point in remembering.
’I have to be able to force myself to remember all those things. If I always stop at my limit, I won’t be able to get through this time and continue to be stuck in this safe zone. No matter how painful it is, I have to be ready and able to get through it because I’m sure behind the pain are memories that try to get in and make me remember my past,’ Sean thought at the time.
He closed his eyes again and tried to push past the pain to remember what little memories she might have. His head really hurt so much, even his body trembled as he endured the pain.
But he didn’t want to give up, he didn’t want to make Odelia sad because he couldn’t remember the question.
His tears flowed, and reflexively he caught Odelia’s arm and grasped it firmly. She woke up in surprise, then looked at Sean who looked in pain with his eyes closed. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝔀𝓮𝒃𝙣𝓸𝒗𝒆𝒍.𝙘𝒐𝒎
"What are you doing? Sean! Are you forcing yourself again to remember everything? Stop it! You’re only going to hurt yourself, please I don’t want to see you feel this kind of pain!" said a worried Odelia while hugging her husband’s body.
Until finally Sean opened his eyes wide-eyed in shock, because he couldn’t stand the pain in his head his face turned red from the pain, and his breathing was also labored.
He turned to Odelia and looked at her with a disappointed look because there was not a single thing he could remember.
"I’m sorry, I just don’t want to make you sad when you’ve tried your best to help me and take care of me in my situation like this. There’s still nothing I can do to make you happy," he said sadly.
Odelia tightened her embrace saying that she was already happy to see Sean who had woken up from his coma. At least she could see him moving around even though he wasn’t what he used to be.
"I really want you to be able to remember everything, but not by hurting yourself. Like you said, let everything flow and come to you on its own," she said then released her embrace and stroked Sean’s cheek.
"You can try to remember, but don’t be too hard on yourself. What if it makes things worse for you?"
Sean paused then nodded slowly and kissed Odelia on the forehead.
’Sean Osbert, you really found an angel.’
