Chapter 91: Little Surprise

During his recovery, Sean spent more time at home. He was even kept on the second floor of his house due to difficulties going down the stairs. Luckily, everything he needed was there. And when it was time to eat, Odelia would bring Sean’s food to the second floor.

"I heard that someone named Henry is coming today. Who is he?" Sean asked.

"Henry? Oh he’s a friend of Megan’s from high school. He’s been asking Megan out a lot lately," Odelia replied as she folded her clothes.

"Are they lovers? What’s Henry look like?"

Odelia explained about Henry and the things Sean himself had said about the man. But she didn’t know whether Megan and Henry were officially dating or not.

"Megan once said that she was still confused about her own feelings. I don’t think Henry has asked her about it either," she explained.

"I see, but do you think he’s changed? If it’s from what I told you about him being a bully. I wouldn’t want Megan to be with a guy like that. But I don’t remember what he was like back then compared to now," Sean said confused.

"Hmn... I think so? I don’t know what he was like before. But now he’s handsome, kind and seems reliable."

Sean nodded in understanding, he didn’t remember anything but he tried to care about everyone around him. After all, they were his family. Especially Megan who as his younger sister, as his older brother, Sean felt it was his responsibility to make sure Megan was with someone who was good for her.

"Take it easy, he came to see you. He wants to see how you’re doing. So you can see the man in person," Odelia said and then changed Carmelia’s clothes.

"Okay then, I’m curious about him."

He then helped Odelia change their daughter’s clothes. Carmelia giggled as long as Sean was in front of her, like a daddy’s girl. Sean carried their daughter with the help of his wife who helped him slowly to sit on the sofa in the second floor lounge.

"I’ll make a snack first before Henry comes. Please look after Carmelia for a while," Odelia said, kissing Sean on the cheek and then leaving him for the kitchen.

"Now it’s just you and me, Carmelia. Your mother said I had promised to take you to play the morning before my accident. I’m sorry, okay? I just didn’t come home to see you." Sean stroked Carmelia’s cheek with his finger.

She caught the finger and Carmelia bit her father’s finger, which made him chuckle. "You’re teething, aren’t you? I’ll buy you a toy for that later."

In front of the house, Megan was waiting for Henry to arrive. She sat relaxing on a chair in her front yard while feeling the cool breeze.

She was happy because she and Henry were getting closer to each other. Henry was so attentive to her and sometimes asked her out on dates.

To her, he was like a vast and beautiful field of green grass. He was really a nice and pleasant man.

However, for some reason she still feels hesitant about her feelings for him. The reason is, Megan sometimes still remembers someone who somehow makes her unable to escape from him.

Someone who is very annoying for her but on the other hand, he makes her feelings become chaotic. She even felt like she was bad for playing with Henry’s feelings.

DING!

[STUPID SAM]

Hey, are you home right now?

"Why would he suddenly ask that? That’s weird. Where does he expect me to be? The end of the cliff?" she said with a sigh.

[MEGAN]

I’m on top of a 28-floor building ready to jump.

[STUPID SAM]

Oh good, that means Carmelia will be my niece without her annoying aunt and bad influence.

Megan was infuriated by Samuel’s playful answer, even though she herself had started it by answering something like that.

[MEGAN]

Why would you know if I’m home or not? That’s none of your business, is it?

[STUPID SAM]

It’s not, I just wanted to make sure that Odelia hasn’t thrown a broken barbie like you out of her house yet.

[MEGAN]

Who are you calling a broken barbie, huh? I’ll still be here. I’m not a mobster like you who would leave home anyway.

She turned off her cell phone and no longer answered Samuel’s messages. Megan pouted because she was annoyed with every single thing Samuel said. However, she never stopped even blocking his number.

She felt like she couldn’t do it because even though he was annoying, Megan felt like she didn’t have to go that far to do it.

"Well... He’s annoying, but... Huft, you’re so stupid Megan. You’re still thinking about him. Focus Megan, Henry is right in front of you! Henry..."

"Yes?"

She gasped in shock when Henry was actually in front of her. She had been daydreaming, not even realizing that he had arrived and was standing in front of her.

"You’re daydreaming again, Megan. What were you thinking calling my name, hmn?"

"It’s nothing. I just didn’t realize you were here. Let’s go inside, Sean’s on the second floor," she invited him into the house.

Henry handed Megan a flower that he had been carrying.

"For me? Thank you, Henry. You’re so sweet. Sometimes I still can’t believe a bad bully turned into such a sweet guy," Megan said with a chuckle.

"Come on, it’s been a while. You don’t need to remember," said Henry, feeling embarrassed.

They went up to the second floor where Sean was playing with Carmelia. He turned to see Megan and Henry coming and Henry shook Sean’s hand.

"Hello senior, sorry I just came now to see how you are doing. I was busy taking care of my new restaurant, so I only had time to come here," he said.

"No problem, you must have heard about my situation from Megan."

He nodded and sat down, they chatted until Odelia arrived with a snack and joined them.

45 minutes in, someone rang the front doorbell which brought their conversation to a halt. Megan offered to go downstairs and open the door. She walked to the first floor and opened the front door.

"Yes?"

When the door opened, a tall man with ginger hair and brown eyes, stared intently at Megan which instantly surprised her.

"Sam?"
