Megan looked at the face of the man in front of her. His piercing brown eyes stared straight at her. A look that sent shivers down her spine.

"Sam?"

The man leaned his arm against the doorframe and then leaned toward Megan until their faces were close together.

"I thought you were actually in a 28-story building to take the plunge, when I was ready to celebrate," he said with a sly grin on his face.

He pulled Megan’s chin closer, causing her to gasp a little.

"You’re getting uglier by the minute," he whispered.

Megan’s face flushed as her face was so close, only inches away.

"W-what are you doing here? What did you come here for?" Megan asked.

"Am I forbidden to come, hmn?"

"It’s not that, it’s just-"

Megan didn’t know what else to say, she could feel Samuel’s breath on her face. It made her body tremble even more and something inside her wanted to hug him. But she tried again and again to push those feelings away while closing her eyes.

She had always wanted to beat Samuel up because she was annoyed every time the man teased her through messages and phone calls. However, when confronted in person, Megan couldn’t even do anything.

Samuel himself was silent looking at Megan who closed her eyes. After all this time he was finally able to see her again and seeing her well, somehow made him feel calmer.

He continued to look at her beautiful face, until his eyes dropped to her pink lips. Looking so soft and sweet, it felt like he wanted to taste those lips.

’Damn, it’s hard to contain myself when she’s this close and even this vulnerable in front of me. Why do you have to show this kind of face in front of me, damn it,’ he thought irritably.

"Megy, who’s here? You took so long," said a man coming down the stairs not far behind them.

Samuel looked at the man, a dark-haired man with blue eyes coming down the stairs. He frowned when he saw the unfamiliar man in front of him. Moreover, he called Megan ’Megy’.

Hearing Henry’s approaching voice, Megan seemed to come to her senses and pushed Samuel away from her. She then turned around and looked at her friend.

"Oh hey, did you catch up with me? You could have waited for me upstairs," she said.

Henry walked over to Megan and turned to Samuel who was staring at him with a cold gaze. He was watching him like he was looking at an enemy he was going to eliminate.

"Who is he? Is he an acquaintance of yours?" asked Henry as he put his arm around Megan’s shoulders in a familiar manner.

"He’s Sam, Odelia’s younger brother. Sam, this is Henry, he’s a friend of mine from high school."

’Friends from high school? Hmnn... So he’s that guy, huh? The guy who’s dating her right now. What’s so interesting about this guy?’ thought Samuel who looked unhappy with Henry’s presence.

Plus he put his arm around Megan’s shoulders, and she seemed to be okay with it at all.

He extended his hand towards Samuel, inviting him to a more formal introduction. However, Samuel just brushed past him and went up to the second floor.

"Hmn what’s wrong with him?" asked Henry in confusion.

"I don’t know, he can be quite annoying. But forget it, let’s go back upstairs," she said, locking the door and following Samuel.

On the second floor, Odelia was rather surprised to see Samuel coming. Sean just didn’t remember who the man was. He also explained who Samuel was.

"I didn’t know you were coming here, Sam. Why didn’t you say anything?" asked Odelia.

"I just wanted to surprise you and see how Sean was doing. He’s my brother-in-law after all, so I came to see him," Samuel replied and sat down near Sean.

He looked over at the man’s leg which appeared to have a leg support on it to keep it straight. Samuel didn’t expect the accident to be that bad. He knew Sean had been in a coma for three months, but he didn’t know it would have such a big impact.

"How are you doing?"

"A little better, sorry I can’t remember who you are. I hope our relationship is fine before I lose my memory," Sean replied.

Samuel said everything was fine. He didn’t want Sean to remember about their first meeting where he thought Sean was a thug who extorted his mother’s money. It was very embarrassing for him.

Soon Henry and Megan arrived and they chatted together about a few things. During their conversation, Samuel kept noticing how Megan and Henry were laughing with each other.

His eyes kept falling on Megan who was smiling at Henry’s words. He realized that she looked much better with the man he thought was her lover.

’Why would I worry about her since yesterday, when she’s fine here with him. Then why did I come from Dormania just to see her? What a waste of my time,’ he thought irritably.

He stood up from his chair, making them all turn to him.

"I’m going out for a minute, I need to call someone," he said and headed down the stairs.

Megan watched him go until he was out of sight. She wondered why Samuel seemed more different than usual. She knew Samuel was always cold, but when in front of Odelia, he wasn’t like that. It was just that this time it was very different.

’What’s wrong with him? He doesn’t feel jealous of me, does he? He already has a girlfriend, why would he be jealous?’ Megan thought, feeling surprised but worried at the same time.

On the terrace of Sean’s house, Samuel lit his cigarette and started smoking it. He always smoked when he was tired or upset.

"Fuuhh... My head hurts even more thinking about it, damn it." He looked up at the sky which looked cloudy and about to rain.

Samuel didn’t understand why he was doing this. For several days he kept dreaming of Megan which he couldn’t stand anymore and finally decided to go to Zondalian which was a long way from Dormania just to see her.

But once he arrived here, he saw Megan who was so intimate with Henry. It made him very upset and disturbed. He felt like beating him up right then and there to get him away from her.

But he knew that was impossible, so he chose to remain silent. Now he was just too lazy to be around them any longer.

"The world is really strange and annoying. Why did you try to get me to come here just to see her making out with that guy? Heh," he laughed in annoyance then went back to smoking the cigarette in his hand.
