Chapter 1349: A Father’s Failure to Teach His Son Is His Fault

Ye Guan was caught off guard.

He never expected the Diyi Clan to resort to such a method to seize the Supreme Emperor Destiny Aura and Supreme Emperor Bloodline within him.

This is really an unconventional approach. Looking at the breathtaking woman before him, he had no other thoughts. He was a Supreme Emperor, a Sword Emperor at that, so how could mere beauty sway his heart?

To him, a beautiful woman was no different from a skeleton.

Diyi Jingzhao appeared composed, but Ye Guan noticed the slight trembling of her eyelashes.

"A mind as clear as ice, unshaken even if the sky collapses. No matter the changes, remain calm, composed, and at peace." He silently recited a mantra before picking up a robe from the ground and draping it over her, covering her stunning figure.

"You think taking my Supreme Emperor bloodline and destiny aura will make you a Supreme Emperor?"

Diyi Jingzhao met his gaze. "It's an opportunity."

Ye Guan shook his head. "Becoming a Supreme Emperor this way... does that truly count?"

A frown crossed her delicate brow.

Just as Ye Guan was about to speak again, she pushed him onto the bed. Before he could react, their clothes turned to ashes in an instant.

She straddled him, and her gaze was unwavering as she said, "The Diyi Clan has gone over two billion years without producing a Supreme Emperor. If we don't have one soon, we will fall into decline and be devoured by others."

Ye Guan spread his hands, staring at her. "Then go ahead."

His Mad Demon Bloodline and Mortal Bloodlines were the bane of every other bloodline out there. Even Fan Zhaodi had failed to absorb them; what chance did she have?

Diyi Jingzhao locked eyes with him, and she was trembling slightly.

Ye Guan rested his hands behind his head, looking calm. The atmosphere between them grew heavy with tension. Naked and so intimately close, the view from Ye Guan's perspective was... indescribable.

He broke the silence first, asking, "Do you really think one can become a Supreme Emperor through such a crude method? Be realistic."

She remained silent.

"Get off me. Let's talk properly." Ye Guan saw a beautiful woman as nothing more than a skeleton; his body was still reacting. After all, his Mad Demon Bloodline was far from proper.

The Mad Demon Bloodline was speechless.

Seeing her waver, Ye Guan pressed on. "If becoming a Supreme Emperor were this easy, why would there be so few of them?"

After a long silence, she sighed. "You're right."

She placed her hands on his chest and was about to get off him when—

Shwik!

Their eyes widened in shock.

It slipped in by complete accident.

They froze, and Diyi Jingzhao winced from the sharp pain.

Ye Guan looked at the woman above him, speechless. He had never imagined that things would turn out like this. But at this point, would pulling away and pretending that nothing had happened make sense?

Diyi Jingzhao remained silent, resting on his chest.

Ye Guan sighed inwardly. He had lost his cultivation base, so he couldn't resist. If he couldn't resist, then...

The night passed just like that. (Twenty thousand words were omitted.)

The next morning, Ye Guan woke to find that the barrier over the room had vanished. He sat up, somewhat surprised. Despite everything, she hadn't taken his bloodline or destiny aura.

Of course, if she had tried, she would have been digging her own grave. Even a Supreme Emperor couldn't handle his Mad Demon Bloodline and Mortal Bloodline.

Shaking his head, he got out of bed and changed into clean clothes. When he stepped outside, twenty maids standing in the corridor bowed in unison toward him. "Young Master."

Ye Guan glanced at them with a smile. "Can I go for a walk?"

The leading maid quickly replied, "Whenever you wish."

Nodding, he strolled outside. The maids didn't follow him. As he walked through the estate, everyone he encountered bowed with deep respect toward him.

Following a stone path, he soon reached a garden. It was not large but was filled with various flowers in full bloom, and their vibrant colors seemed to be competing for attention.

Then, his eyes landed on a small tree. He paused, staring at it in shock. Walking closer, he examined the tree carefully. A moment later, disbelief flickered across his face. The tree... looked eerily similar to the Tianxing Life Tree of the Tianxing Civilization.

What the hell? He reached out, but just as his fingers neared it, a trembling voice sounded from the side. "Young Master! T-that tree was planted by the clan leader. No one is allowed to touch it..."

The speaker was a maid. Bowing deeply, her voice was shaking. She was clearly terrified of him.

Ye Guan noticed that and chuckled. "Relax. I won't touch it."

The maid let out a silent sigh of relief but kept a wary eye on him. He studied the tree again, and his confusion deepened. Its aura was nearly identical to the Tianxing Life Tree, just a bit fainter.

A thought struck him, and he turned to the maid. "You just mentioned the Clan Leader... Is Jingzhao the clan leader?"

The maid nodded quickly. "Yes, she is."

Ye Guan raised a brow. So she's the clan leader.

The maid was still tense, sneaking glances at him nervously, as if afraid that he would break something in the garden. The clan leader often spent time in this garden, and no one was allowed near it.

The only reason Ye Guan was here was that he could go anywhere within the estate, but the maid was still scared.

Ye Guan smiled. "No need to be so nervous. I'm just looking around."

The maid bowed respectfully. "N-no... I'm not nervous..."

Ye Guan chuckled, then said, "Take me somewhere else."

The maid immediately relaxed and gestured. "This way, please."

She led him through the garden.

After some time, Ye Guan asked, "Can I leave the residence for a stroll?"

The maid nodded. "Of course."

Ye Guan smiled. "Lead the way."

"Yes," the maid answered respectfully, guiding him toward the exit.

Meanwhile, Diyi Jingzhao stood alone in the ancestral hall of the Diyi Clan, and her expression was cold and distant. A voice echoed from a trembling soul tablet. "Why did you not make a move?"

Diyi Jingzhao remained silent.

After a pause, the voice added, "The tribulation is approaching. If our clan doesn't produce a Supreme Emperor soon, how are we going to survive it?

"Soon, the remnants of our ancestors' divine souls will weaken. When that happens, those Half Emperors and demonic beasts will surely attack us to obtain our clan's secret weapons."

Diyi Jingzhao shook her head. "He was right. Even if I were to take his bloodline and Supreme Emperor Destiny Aura, I wouldn't become a Supreme Emperor."

The voice fell silent for a moment before replying, "Then what are you going to do? We sacrificed an Emperor-grade weapon just to keep him here. We have no way out at this point."

Diyi Jingzhao said nothing. She looked up with a gaze full of uncertainty.

The Diyi Clan...

During the Era of Emperors, they were unrivalled in the Ten Desolate World. On the surface, they still held that status, but in reality, their doom was near.

The Diyi Clan had once produced two Supreme Emperors, each leaving behind a trace of their power to protect the clan. The trace of power was the reason they were still dominant.

Unfortunately, the divine souls of those Supreme Emperors had been weakening, and soon, they would enter their final weakened state.

Once that happened, the Diyi Clan would face utter catastrophe.

The Supreme Emperor Clans and Immortal Clans would turn on them. The demonic beasts lurking beyond the Forbidden Wildlands would seize the opportunity to attack them and claim the clan's Emperor-grade weapons as well as the wealth that they had accumulated over billions of years.

Diyi Jingzhao herself was an unparalleled genius—the most extraordinary talent in the history of the Diyi Clan.

In less than a century, she reached the Half-Step Beyond Dao Realm, and in just a hundred and twenty years, she ascended to the Quasi Emperor Realm, a realm away from the Supreme Emperor Realm.

Her talent and potential far surpassed even the two great ancestors of her clan.

Unfortunately, she was born in the wrong era.

She once believed that she could become a Supreme Emperor. But before she could take that final step, Ye Guan ascended first, draining the final traces of Supreme Emperor Destiny Aura in this starry region, severing her path forward.

Kill Ye Guan?

The Diyi Clan had certainly considered it. But what would happen afterward?

Could they truly bear the karma of slaying a Supreme Emperor?

Even if all the Supreme Emperor Clans were to unite, none would dare shoulder such consequences. That was why they had been so eager to pass this burden onto the Diyi Clan.

Devour Ye Guan's bloodline and Supreme Emperor Destiny Aura instead? As Ye Guan himself had pointed out the night before, would that really allow her to become a Supreme Emperor?

The formation of Supreme Emperor Destiny Aura depended on the person. Ye Guan had ascended first, and thus, the Supreme Emperor Destiny Aura had gathered around him. He didn't become a Supreme Emperor by obtaining the Supreme Emperor Destiny Aura. It was the other way around.

If he died, the Supreme Emperor Destiny Aura would scatter.

And then what? Could she, Diyi Jingzhao, truly gather that Supreme Emperor Destiny Aura like what Ye Guan had done? Clearly not. If she could, she would have done it a long time ago.

Standing at the entrance of the grand hall, she gazed into the distance, and a rare trace of uncertainty flickered in her eyes.

What was the future of the Diyi Clan?

Would they have to abandon their Emperor-grade weapon, their legacy, and retreat from the Ten Desolate World, just as the Di Clan had done in the past?

Even if they were willing, they wouldn't be able to leave unscathed.

The Diyi Clan's Emperor-grade weapon was no ordinary artifact. It was an item of immense significance, as it was deeply intertwined with the fate of the Diyi Clan members.

If they surrendered it, their entire clan would be doomed.

Time.

Diyi Jingzhao closed her eyes. If she had just a thousand years, she was certain that she would become a Supreme Emperor.

She just needed a thousand years! The stronger she became, the less time she would have. The Quasi Emperors and their hidden enemies wouldn't allow her to grow.

To ascend, one needed more than just talent; one needed protection, too. Otherwise, the world would never give them the chance. Unless, of course, they ascended as abruptly as Ye Guan.

Ye Guan had caught the world off guard. Had the Supreme Emperor Clans and the Immortal Clans realized what was happening, they wouldn't have allowed him to succeed.

They would have banded together to eliminate him before he could rise.

After all, who wanted to wake up one day and find a new king towering over them?

It was just like the mortal world, when nations were locked in war, anyone who sought to seize the throne and unify the land would inevitably face attacks from all sides.

Diyi Jingzhao slowly opened her eyes.

"The Diyi Clan will not perish in my hands."

With that, she turned around and walked away.

Just then, a woman suddenly appeared before her, bowing respectfully. "Clan Leader, Young Master Ye encountered Li Yun, the heir of the Li Clan, outside. Li Yun mocked him, calling him a cripple and a waste."

Diyi Jingzhao's expression remained impassive. "How did he react?"

The woman lowered her head. "Young Master Ye simply smiled. He did not seem angry."

Diyi Jingzhao fell silent for a moment and calmly said, "Kill Li Yun."

She took two steps forward and paused again. "A father's failure to teach his son is the father's fault, so kill his father as well."
