I was Kidnapped for Revenge by a Ruthless Alpha-Chapter 189: A scale
~Odette~
I woke up the next day to Artemasia blowing up my new phone. I still wasn’t used to having one again. She told me she had an idea that would put my plan into action. We would be working with the Circe Coven to accomplish this; I wasn’t powerful enough to break the gate or seal it. But with their help, their magic amplifying mine, I could block its energy, it’s connection to other weylines. Isolate them.
She told me to come over now, that today the witches and I would work on a spell for closing the gates.
I wouldn’t be able to hit all the lines, but I could seal off as many as I can anywhere near us and our refugee camps.
Viktoria and Victor, my first cousins, they were going to reach out to the vampire clans and get them to relocate near the wolves.
Word of the alliance has spread, and my daddy has gotten a in flood of millions of emails and calls from disgruntled vampire clan leaders, Ambrose has been dealing with the same. It’s been a massive political mess.
But I trusted them to handle their people, my people, while I handle the DarkChild.
Leaving my room, I turned and gave one last look at the peace that this space brought. Everything would change after the war starts. Win or lose, nothing would be as it now.
When I shut the door, Phera appeared next to me like stepping out of a magic portal, she moved with the kind of silence even magic couldn’t detect.
"This was a pretty genius idea, sealing weylines. I don’t think I could even come up with such a good, yet outrageous idea." Phera smiled proudly at me. "Ezelreth would never think of this, he’d never see this coming."
She sounded a little giddy. I think she liked the plot more than anyone else.
When I arrived at Artemasia’s cabin home she was scrambling inside. With her windows open I could hear her rummaging through her kitchen, pans clattered loudly, echoing against the brick stone walls.
"Fucking little shit. Where are you?" I heard the click of her boot heel fading as she walked away from the door.
I knocked before she got too far.
"Doors unlocked, I’m busy at the moment."
I walk in "What are you looking for?"
"Something needed for the spell." Artemasia growled in annoyance.
"Want help, what are you looking for?"
"In here." She called out instructing me.
I walked to her witch den where she did all her work. It was a mess in here; papers scattered on every surface and all across the floor. Books in towers on counters and spread across tabletops. Stones of all colors laid in different piles on her desk. Her one of her tables had beakers and mortars decorated with different powders. The place was in utter chaos. I never knew Artemasia to be so... Messy...
"Wow, were you robbed? It looks like your place was ransacked..."
"Arya and I have been busy. And then after you told me your idea it became hard to sleep as my mind started reeling with ideas on how to make that possible. I started searching through books, I contacted Arya and told her to summon her little coven and what we needed." Artemasia began explaining. "Arya wasn’t happy, but she got us a meeting, and we’ll teleport to them with one of the stones."
"Awesome, but what are you tearing this room apart looking for?"
She stopped searching and her shoulders slumped slightly.
"It’s an older than Ezelreth artifact." I could tell she was reluctant to answer me.
She sighed. "Faerie wings. It’s one of the only things left in this world that can connect us to the weygates."
"Faerie wings! Are you for real right now?" I was shocked. Faeries...
"Yes we can use it to close fae rings and seal weylines."
Phera walked over after hearing our conversation. "I can offer my blood. I am as old as the fae. But I think what would be better than fae wings or my blood... Is a scale from the Leviathan. He’s a creature almost as old as time. He’s alive and connect to the gates."
The Leviathan.
Mammy’s new boyfriend?
"That’s actually bloody genius Phera." Artemasia dropped everything instantly and walked toward the exit. "Let’s go get us a scale."
"I’ll call her."
I pulled out my phone and of course no answer. I don’t even know why she has one of these, she never freaking answers it.
"She didn’t pick up." I rolled my eyes annoyed
"Let’s go visit your family’s abode." Artemasia moved with determination straight for the manor we had my family staying in. 𝘧𝑟𝑒𝑒𝘸𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝓁.𝘤𝘰𝓂
Trekking across the palace grounds we arrive at my family’s place.
I don’t bother knocking I just walk in.
"Your father is training with your husband and Gabriel." Uncle Oliver shouted across the house from the living room.
"I’m actually here for Mammy, which ones her room?" That’s when I realized it was a little late for him to be up, he was usually in bed a little after sunrise. He hadn’t had to adjust to the newer schedule, I heard he would be training the newer vampires since Jeremy still hasn’t perfected his UV shield for vampires.
"Upstairs 3rd door on the right down the hall." He waved us off. "Knock and wait to enter, I don’t know what she’s been doing up there with that thing, I don’t want you traumatized.
"Will do, Uncle Oliver. Thanks for the tip." Artemasia and I followed his instructions and knocked.
Mammy opened the door with a large smile. "My darling, I’ve missed your face, please come in."
That was Mammy for you, always giving me the brightest smile.
"I actually need a favor, from the Leviathan."
Mammy frowned. "What do you mean." Her voice was low, cautious. "You know all knowledge must be paid for with flesh, correct?"
"I don’t seek knowledge, actually. I seek a scale. It’s for a spell to seal the weylines." I explained.
A wave of relief washed over her face. "I’ll be right back."
I watched as my Mammy walked over to the man sitting in robes on a loveseat in front of the TV. She bent over and whispered in her ear.
He nodded. Instantyl he started to shift his shape. I was utterly impressed with whatever the hell that was. All black skin with a snake like scale, gold patterned tattoos on his body. Except he didn’t look so he masculine, his figured changed shape giving it a slightly more feminine figure, his muscles bulked up on his arms more. His hair was long and black, his eyes deep and endless like an abyss. My breath hitched, getting stuck in my throat. This was a beast unlike anything I’ve ever seen.
"Holy fuck." Artemasia whispered beside me.
"I know."
The Leviathan plucked a black scale from his tail and shifted back to his human skinned form. "Here." He handed the scale to Mammy who in turn passed it to me.
"To the witches to cast a spell."
