Chapter 53: Become Adventurer

The receptionist asked for Aiden’s full identity. There was a detector orb that people used when registering as adventurers.

Through it, the receptionist could detect people’s names and levels. Aiden didn’t mind at all.

The light on the detector orb glowed blue, Aiden didn’t know what it meant. Soon, a laser light came out and wrote down the identities summarized by the device.

Aiden let go of his hand and watched the device complete its task. Slowly, Aiden’s adventurer card was completed and the woman handed it over.

"Congratulations, you have officially become an adventurer in Cain City," the woman explained.

The young man smiled, he looked forward as he took his adventurer card. He saw his identity clearly written on the card, from name to individual level.

"Your level is very high, did you ever take one of the three main jobs?" the woman asked.

’Why would she ask that? Is there something wrong with taking a job before?" asked Aiden.

"Why?" Aiden asked.

"It’s nothing, it’s just that it’s a bit odd to see a commoner have such a high level," the woman replied, smiling as she shook her head.

"It’s just that if you’ve taken a different job before, you won’t be able to take the class of the adventurer job," the woman explained.

’I don’t know what classes are included in the adventurer job. So, I’m not too concerned about that,’ Aiden explained.

"I got it."

The receptionist lady said that Aiden could take any rank mission in the bulletin. The hardest rank was SSS, and the easiest was C. The order from easiest to hardest became C, B, A, S, SS, and SSS.

Aiden understood completely. He stepped back near Aurora, Aurora seemed to be able to move her toes. Even so, she admitted that it was difficult for her to walk.

"Hmm, this seems like a suitable place to rest for a while," Aiden replied, taking in his surroundings.

Aurora didn’t mind at all. However, since the trip earlier, Aurora hadn’t had a chance to eat. She asked Aiden for something to eat.

"I’ll go to the cafeteria and see if there’s anything you can eat," Aiden replied, Aurora smiling and nodding.

Aiden left her alone. Unbeknownst to Aiden, two men had been watching Aurora. Her natural beauty and the beautiful blue dress she wore attracted them.

"Hey, lady. I saw your boyfriend leave, are you lonely?" one of them asked.

"Huh? What’s the matter?!" she replied curtly.

"Calm down, you don’t need to be upset like that. We’re good men," replied one of the men, daring to touch Aurora’s delicate hand.

"Don’t touch me!" declared Aurora, her loud voice heard by Aiden.

Aiden rushed back there to calm Aurora down. The girl’s anger could bring great damage to this place.

Too late! Aiden failed to save one of the men harassing Aurora. He was instantly frozen in a block of ice and collapsed leaving nothing behind. People were shocked to see that.

"Calm down, Aiden," Aiden replied, letting go of the man’s frozen hand.

"I can’t calm down! I have to kill him," Aurora threatened, pointing at the other man.

Aiden stood right in front of Aurora’s fingers, preventing her from killing him. Their eyes locked on each other, the anger in Aurora’s heart slowly eased.

"Alright. I’ll stop being angry if you punish him!" Aurora replied, looking away.

The young man before her sighed. He raised his hand and brought out a fire arrow instantly, then pierced two of the man’s thighs, leaving the man injured and struggling to stand.

"I can’t kill him, but this attack will leave him unable to walk for three months," Aiden explained.

"That’s enough. Let’s find somewhere else to eat," Aurora asked casually.

Aurora and Aiden started walking away from the place. Several people in the adventurer’s guild office were seen giving way for them to leave.

The man in the navy blue suit saw what they were doing. He bravely walked up to them to talk.

After a long distance from the adventurer’s guild office, the man called out to them. Aiden and Aurora turned around, the woman was still being aggressive since the incident earlier.

"Do you want to die here too?!" snapped Aurora, scaring him.

Aiden blocked Aurora from hurting him, he wasn’t the man who had harassed her earlier. Aiden asked why he had called them.

"I saw your abilities earlier at the guild office. I’m looking for group members to do a certain mission," the man replied.

"Who are you?" Aiden asked.

"I’m Noah. I’m a silver-grade adventurer, my class is assassin," Noah replied.

Noah handed over his adventurer card. Aiden just remembered, that man was the one who took 15 silver from the division earlier.

"You’re that guy from earlier."

"Do you need help with something?" asked Aiden, handing over his adventurer’s card again.

"That’s right. I used to join my friend’s squad, there were four of us. On the S-level mission, we did a group exploration of the dungeon. But...."

"Let me guess, your friends died, right?" interrupted Aurora in the middle of Noah’s explanation, startling Aiden.

Aiden scolded her not to say anything like that. Although it might be true that they were dead, but at least show some respect and ethics to Noah as a survivor.

"Sorry, she’s just like that," Aiden explained, saying subtly that Aurora’s personality was unique.

"It’s okay. She’s right, my friends were killed by Dragon Undead," Noah replied.

"Dragon Undead?" asked Aurora, shocked.

"That’s right. Do you know anything about it?" asked Noah.

"I don’t know anything about Dragon Undead, but I can help you because I’m a—"

"HSSST!" interrupted Aiden, hurriedly smothering Aurora’s mouth.

Noah looked on, not knowing why Aiden and Aurora were acting this way. In a whispered voice, Aiden asked Aurora not to tell anyone about her true identity as a dragon.

"The reason I came to you guys is because you have enough power to help me defeat that Dragon Undead," Noah explained.

"If we can defeat it, there’s a hidden room that holds hidden treasures. It could be a high-level beast essence," Noah added, and Aiden gasped.

’Right! I have to look into all the possibilities. It could be that the beast essence of the Fire Dragon Chronos is indeed hidden underground,’ Aiden said.

’It wouldn’t be a bad thing to make friends with him anyway. He’s a silver rank adventurer,’ he continued.

Noah emphasized again about their participation in the raid this time. Aiden nodded, Aurora responded in kind.

"Good," Noah said.

Aurora let go of Aiden’s hand covering her mouth, "You have to treat me to fish!"

Noah laughed out loud at Aurora’s attitude, Aiden could only stare and shake his head, not knowing why Aurora’s attitude was like this.

"Sure. I’ll give you the best fish dishes in town," Noah explained.

"I’m sorry," Aiden said.

"There’s no need to apologize."

"Come on, let’s go now."
