Infinite Dragon Beast: Taming Ice Dragons with SSS Ranked Talent-Chapter 55: First Day As An Adventurers
***
The next day.
Aiden and Aurora arrived at the Adventurer’s Guild office as per Noah’s request. When the two entered, they saw that the area inside the guild office was filled with adventurers of different grades.
They were crowded in the cafeteria, the waiting room, and even in front of the bulletin board.
"What’s going on?" asked Aiden, curious.
"Nothing, just an update on today’s mission," replied Noah, coming from behind without Aiden noticing.
"Aurora, catch this," said Noah, throwing a snack at her, which Aurora immediately caught.
"What’s this?" asked Aurora.
"Fish snacks, you’ll like them."
Aurora was silent for a moment, then asked Aiden to open it. Aurora tried one, it turned out that what Noah said was true, the taste was delicious, characteristic of processed fish.
"Mission update? What does it mean?" Aiden asked.
"The city guild will update the missions adventurers can take. They fill in empty mission level slots and leave missions that weren’t taken before," Noah explained.
"The more missions taken and succeeded, the popularity and public trust in the adventurer’s guild increases," Noah added.
’It’s like supply and demand. I got it,’ Aiden explained.
Among them, Aiden didn’t see John, the man from yesterday who had harassed Aurora. Even so, the arrival of the white-haired girl eating fish snacks received great attention from the other adventurers.
Aiden noticed their stares, rumors had probably spread throughout the place that the white-haired girl had killed Alpha easily, even though they all knew Alpha was a silver-level adventurer.
As the clock ticked eight in the morning, the receptionist lady came in to tell everyone loudly.
"Today, I have 40 C-level missions, 25 B-level missions, and 15 A-level missions."
"Please step away from the bulletin board for a moment, thank you," she told him.
She did not come alone, but was escorted by three female staff and five male staff. The men were tasked with keeping the crowd from taking the missions directly, while the three women were in charge of posting the missions.
Aiden looked at the mission update procession on the bulletin, Noah was looking in the same direction, Aurora was still enjoying herself eating her favorite fish snack.
After the three women pasted the mission posters, they hurriedly left the bulletin board. In a chaotic state, the adventurers walked through the crowd to take the missions they wanted.
Those who were originally sitting in the cafeteria also responded by getting up and stepping closer to the place. The difference in the grade of the adventurers made them unable to resist.
’At first, they seemed to be crowded into each other. However, when the man in silver armor arrived, they seemed to make way for him,’ Aiden said.
Not one, but three people stepped up to the bulletin board. Aiden immediately asked Noah about their identities.
"All three are silver grade adventurers. The knight is Aaron, the archer is Therion, and the mage is Annie," Noah said.
Noah explained that the three of them didn’t have an adventurer’s job, they had joined the adventurer’s guild because of problems that had happened to them in the past.
Aiden nodded. Their situation was exactly the same as Aiden’s, he couldn’t return to Arcanis because there were dangers awaiting him there.
With their abilities, they could reach the silver grade easily compared to those who started the adventurer job from scratch.
The three took poster missions with level A and above, maximum SS. That was because no one dared to take SSS level posters.
Since the establishment of the adventurer’s guild in Cain City, SSS-level posters had been posted there.
The posters were put up by the kingdom with the aim that there were adventurers who dared to complete the mission.
The rewards offered were also fantastic, ranging from noble rights, noble promotions, hundreds of thousands of gold, and other luxuries.
Aaron and Therion took the A-level mission, while Annie took the S-level mission. The three left the bulletin board and came to the reception desk, to register the mission with their adventurer group.
Not long after, Aiden noticed that the posters on the bulletin board had run out, especially in the mission level C, B, and A sections.
"You don’t have to worry," Noah said.
"I registered for the mission yesterday," Noah explained, surprising Aiden.
"After we ate dinner and confirmed the gathering place. I came back to this place and took that S-level mission," Noah said.
"Even though you guys aren’t in the same group as me, I promise to split the bounty equally," Noah said.
Aiden nodded. One by one, the adventurers left the city guild office with their missions. That made the place quiet, from being crowded with people.
"Are we waiting for someone?" asked Aiden. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝒆𝒘𝙚𝓫𝙣𝙤𝒗𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢
"That’s right. There’s someone else who will be joining us," Noah said.
"Sorry I’m late."
The door to the adventurer’s guild office opened, a woman appeared with her breath caught in her throat. She looked tired, she had arrived later than she should have.
"Who are you?" asked Aurora innocently.
"Meet her, she’s Dysia. She’ll be our healer," said Noah.
"Hello, my name is Dysia."
After everything was complete, Noah invited them to leave the place immediately. Aiden nodded, taking Aurora, who was still holding a fish snack in her hand.
The dungeon’s location was north of the city, so they had to step outside the city, enter the forest, and arrive at the dungeon cave.
Luckily for them, Noah had explored this place before so he could map out which places were dangerous.
"It’s good to see a woman in the squad. What’s your name?" Dysia asked Aurora.
"I’m Aurora, would you like some of these fish snacks?" asked Aurora, offering the snacks.
Dysia nodded. She took some and tried it. It was quite good, but it was too fishy because of the processed fish. The two became close because of that moment.
Aiden walked right beside Noah, continuing to guide the women behind him so as not to get lost. Occasionally, he asked about the exact location of the cave.
"We’ll be there in no time, you have nothing to fear," Noah said, looking confident.
Seeing Noah’s confidence relieved Aiden. They continued to walk on the rocky dirt road until they arrived in front of the mouth of the large cave, the texture of the cave walls felt rough and cold, it was also humid.
Aurora seemed to be paying attention to the area around her, the woman sensed something odd about the place.
From within Aurora, she felt a sensation of the power of darkness that was both terrifying and disgusting.
Aiden turned his head, seeing Aurora’s attitude was different than before, "What’s wrong?"
She stopped walking and shook her head, "I don’t want to go there."
"Why?" asked Aiden.
"I don’t want to go inside at all."
This attitude left Aiden, Noah, and Dysia confused. However, Aiden realized that Aurora’s attitude was different than usual.
Aiden suspected that Aurora must be sensing the power of magic that could harm her.
"How?" asked Noah.
"I can’t leave her alone here."
