Chapter 63: Aiden’s Another Dragon

***

The next day.

Aurora woke up from a deep sleep. She was complaining of a pain in the back of her neck but she didn’t know what had happened.

All she remembered was the anger and hatred rising in her heart, right after Dysia told her about Aaron and the man’s deeds.

The girl got up and sat on the bed. Her attention was drawn to the side to see Aiden sitting while flowing his magic energy into a mysterious egg.

Through Aurora’s sense of smell, she sensed something odd about the egg, as if it was connected to her.

"I have to go," Aurora explained.

"Where?" asked Aiden, flatly.

"To kill that bastard Aaron," she said, still upset.

"I know you’re mad at him, but acting rashly will only make you suffer," Aiden explained.

He stood up holding the black egg, placing it on the plush sofa chair. Aiden turned his head, looking into Aurora’s eyes that were still filled with intense hatred.

The man was now standing directly in front of Aurora. He held her hand, feeling unusually cold.

"We surely have a chance to defeat him. The most important thing for you is to improve your skills," Aiden replied, Aurora cleared her throat.

Slowly, the anger in Aurora’s heart softened as Aiden managed to melt her heart. Aurora looked behind Aiden, asking about the black egg.

Aiden smiled, then turned around and carried the egg in his hand. He showed it right in front of Aurora, making the white-haired girl curious to death.

"Is this egg also a hidden treasure?" Aurora asked, Aiden shaking his head.

"It’s different from the sword or the gold I found. This egg is on top of the pyramid and is protected by the Dragon Undead," Aiden explained.

"I had a fierce battle with the dragon at first. However, after this egg detected the beast taming pattern on my right hand, the dragon stopped attacking," Aiden said.

"Hmm... could it be asking you to be its master?" asked Aurora, squinting.

"I don’t know. What do you think?" asked Aurora.

The white-haired girl explained that it wasn’t the egg that bothered her in the cave. Possibly, it was the Dragon Undead that made Aurora unwilling to enter the dungeon.

But the Dragon Undead was gone, leaving the black egg as a gift to Aiden, or perhaps a request for Aiden.

Even so, if the egg Aiden was holding was a dragon like her, Aurora didn’t mind at all. If Aiden managed to tame it, it was possible that Aurora would think of it as her younger sister.

"I don’t mind at all. If that Dragon Undead has entrusted the egg to you, then you must carry out its last request," Aurora explained.

"What you say is true, but can I tame it?" asked Aiden, looking back at the black egg he was holding.

Aurora fell silent. Those words could only be made by Aiden alone, because Aiden would be the one to perform the beast taming ritual.

However, according to Aurora, Aiden could definitely do it. That was based on the reason that Aiden’s strength was much stronger than before, when performing the beast taming ritual with Aurora.

"Okay. I understand," Aiden said.

"I also have a little gift for you," Aiden said.

He patted his magic pouch and brought out a Glacirion Gem and an Aqualis Core Gem that seemed to float above his hand. Aurora was so excited, she immediately grabbed the gems and jumped up and down like a child.

"Glacirion! Glacirion! Glacirion," Aurora said, dancing and jumping in a small circle. 𝘧𝑟𝑒𝑒𝘸𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝓁.𝘤𝘰𝓂

"You are, indeed, a child," Aiden said.

"Where did you get Glacirion?" asked Aurora, showing the gem to Aiden.

"Inside the pyramid. I found other treasures besides gold and legendary weapons. Since they’re adventurers, it’s best I don’t leave the gems to them," Aiden explained.

"Good! Because I like Glacirion."

Just as the two were talking to each other, Aiden looked back when he heard the distinctive cracking sound of an egg hatching.

Aiden’s eyes snapped to the spot, watching as the wall of the egg began to peel away and reveal the form of a cute little snake dragon.

Aurora squinted, staring at it intently as if her natural instincts of the dragon race kicked in.

Aurora and the shadow dragon seemed to roar at each other. Aiden was faced with a difficult situation, fighting two dragons that were apparently at odds with each other.

He stepped forward and spread his arms, standing right between the two of them.

"Aurora! Calm down," Aiden said, eyes focused on the girl.

"I thought it was a dragon of my clan, but it’s not. That dragon is very black!" he snapped.

’Yeah, it’s black because it’s from the Shadow Dragon clan,’ Aiden said.

"Calm down. She’s not evil. I think you can be good friends with each other," Aiden explained.

Aurora continued to stare at her, the power of her ice magic returning although it wasn’t as great as when she went on a rampage in the adventurer’s guild.

Occasionally, Aurora glanced at Aiden, then her heart began to calm down. Even so, she was still wary of the worst, especially since there were dragons from other clans close to Aiden.

"Alright. Hurry up and do beast taming with her, otherwise I might freeze her," Aurora replied.

"Even if I do that, I couldn’t possibly do it here," Aiden explained.

In the end, they decided to perform the beast taming ritual in Anveil Village, a village quite a distance from Cain City.

According to Aiden, Anveil Village was a good choice because it was far from the city and the crowds.

Aurora did not mind, she would go wherever Aiden liked, even if it meant being with the black dragon.

They left the inn and headed south of the city. After passing through the gate and being in the forest, Aurora transformed into an ice dragon and took Aiden away.

With Aurora’s flying speed in ice dragon form, they could reach Anveil Village quickly without having to fear anything.

From a distance, the Anveil Village location could be clearly seen. Some villagers began their usual activities, such as trading and farming.

Some villagers clearly saw a large ice-blue dragon descending from the sky and entering the forest.

After it entered the forest, a bright blue light shone that attracted the villagers’ attention.

"Where are we going to perform the beast taming ritual?" asked Aurora.

"We have to find a hidden cave. We should find one around here."
