Infinite Dragon Beast: Taming Ice Dragons with SSS Ranked Talent-Chapter 66: Rachel Food
Seeing that Aiden had synchronized two magic with Rachel, Aurora slowly opened the ice wall.
The rumbling of the falling ice blocks was enough to startle them, they stepped back and prepared, some of them holding objects they used as weapons —grass forks, sickles, and kitchen knives.
They looked shocked, the people in the cave were not monsters, but Aurora and Aiden. Some of the villagers knew them, they were the saviors of Anveil Village.
"Oh, I thought there were monsters nesting in this place," a man said, able to breathe a sigh of relief.
One by one, they stepped down to leave the cave in the rock. A mage from the magic academy was still there, curious as to why Aiden and the others were in the cave.
"Why were you there? Then why do I sense magic fluctuations from inside?" the mage asked.
Aurora was annoyed —the hunger effect. She snapped at the mage for interfering so much, even though what Aiden was doing did not harm anyone.
"You’re too noisy. What do you care about what we’re doing inside, huh?!" Aurora said, her tone high and her face cynical.
"It’s not like that. I was assigned from the academy to guard two villages, Anveil being one of them. It’s quite suspicious because these mountains and forests were originally used as black monster lairs," explained the mage, a man around 19 years old.
"So? Do you see anything inside?" asked Aurora, pointing inside the cave for the mage to see.
Slowly, the mage entered and saw nothing unusual, just an ordinary stone cave. He sighed, fully nodding and agreeing with Aurora’s words.
"I’m sorry to have disturbed you. Perhaps you’re trying to increase your power here," explained the mage.
"That’s right!" yelled Aurora.
"So, think before you act. It’s a good thing my master held me back so I wouldn’t get angry," Aurora said, looking away with her arms crossed.
Aiden heard their little argument. He stepped forward to calm the two down, while apologizing to the mage for making a fuss.
"No problem. Since the villagers trust you, there’s no need for me to interrogate you," the mage explained.
"But did you see a dragon here?" the mage asked, startling Aurora and Aiden.
"A dragon?" asked Aiden.
"That’s right," explained the mage, "There were some villagers who said they saw a dragon come down from the sky. I tried to follow its trail on the ground, but I couldn’t find it."
Aiden glanced to the side, at Aurora. Aurora responded similarly, but both tried to act innocent as if they had no idea what the mage was talking about.
"Hmm, looks like you guys don’t know about that."
"That’s fine. We’ve already sent a quest to the Adventurer’s Guild about the dragon. If they accept the villagers’ request, there will be many adventurers coming to look for it," explained the mage, looking confident.
Not wanting to stay too long talking with the men, Aiden said goodbye to the mage. He, Rachel and Aurora walked down the stone mountain and arrived at Anveil Village.
It was 10 p.m. It was impossible for Aiden to return to Cain City, especially after the villagers had seen Aurora’s ice dragon form moment.
He didn’t dare tell Aurora to change her form. It would be best for them to remain in Anveil Village until tomorrow.
Before that, they needed to stop by a restaurant to eat. Aurora kept nagging that she wanted to eat something, Aiden couldn’t make her starve and turned upset.
Rachel followed wherever Aiden went, even though Aiden didn’t know what kind of food Rachel wanted to eat.
He and Rachel were only getting together today, so Aiden didn’t know what her habits and desires were.
They arrived at the restaurant in the village that hadn’t closed yet. As usual, Aurora ate the fish dishes available there. However, Rachel’s attitude was different.
She seemed to have no appetite for anything on the menu, be it fish, meat, or vegetables.
When Aiden asked her what she wanted to eat, Rachel only gave a short answer full of confusion.
"I don’t know." 𝐟𝕣𝗲𝕖𝕨𝗲𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝗲𝚕.𝗰𝚘𝐦
"Since her dominant element is darkness, maybe she wants to eat trash," Aurora said, immediately scolded by Aiden.
Aiden tried to calm Rachel down, saying that he would find a solution to get Rachel to eat. Rachel was silent and stunned, she was the only one who didn’t eat that night.
Aurora’s wish had been fulfilled, and she was in a good mood after eating good food. Aiden had to find a place for them to stay.
"Sir Aiden!" greeted Jacob from afar.
"Jacob?" greeted Aiden back, the two meeting after a few days apart.
"How was it? Did you stop by Cain City?" Jacob asked, and Aiden nodded.
The young man did not hesitate to tell his problem this time, not about Rachel and the type of food, but about housing. Jacob had a solution.
"Do you remember that little house back then? I don’t use that place anymore. So, you can sleep there for a while," Jacob replied.
He, as the new village chief of Anveil, was living in a temporary house for the village chief, since the old house was destroyed in the battle that day.
Jacob didn’t mind if Aiden stayed there, for a day or a few days. Aiden was grateful that the problem of where to stay had been solved.
The three went from the main street of the village to the small house, it wasn’t far and only took 12 minutes of walking to arrive.
It was still the same, no damage whatsoever. Aurora and Rachel didn’t mind, even though Aurora realized that the place was poorer than her lodging yesterday.
As the day wore on, the night grew late, and the village turned silent without any activity, Aurora slept alone in the room, she was reluctant to share a bed with Rachel —even though Rachel was her sister.
As a result, Rachel slept with Aiden in the living room. Right in the middle of Aiden’s sleep, he suddenly woke up for some reason and found Rachel gone, who knows where.
’Where did Rachel go?" Aiden asked.
The door to the house was open, so it was possible that Rachel had gone outside to do something. But Aiden had no idea what she was doing and where she was going.
Aiden walked alone on the village street, his head constantly wandering the surrounding area to find the dark-haired girl.
Unable to find her, Aiden decided to use his magic to detect Rachel’s whereabouts.
Luckily, the two had synchronized the two magics, so Aiden could know Rachel’s magic energy without the need to make tracking magic runes.
In the silence of the night, Aiden felt Rachel’s dark magic aura appear in the village chief’s temporary house. Aiden narrowed his eyes, curious about what Rachel was doing there.
He stepped over and saw the door to the house open, his suspicions rising. He walked in and checked every room.
What a surprise! Aiden found Rachel in Jacob’s room, sitting in a chair doing something frightening.
Rachel’s eyes were blackened, a black magic aura appeared and seemed to absorb something from Jacob. Aiden hurriedly walked over to Rachel, stopping what she was doing.
"Master Aiden?" startled Rachel.
"Rachel! What are you—"
Aiden opened his eyes. Energy absorption stopped, he saw Jacob completely turn into bones in a flash. Aiden was in complete shock!
"R-Rachel? What have you...."
"Sorry, Master Aiden. I’m hungry."
