Chapter 69: Arrived at Alron City

***

The next day.

Aiden decided to leave again to resume the journey to Alron City. With Aurora in good condition, she could drive them there again.

In total, Aiden stayed in the inn’s room for two nights and one day. However, they still charged Aiden the price of two days, plus room service.

They went to the forest because it was the only safe place for Aurora to transform. None of the villagers dared to step into the forest, not even to approach it.

That was the exact reason Aiden wanted Aurora to transform there. Aurora immediately carried out Aiden’s orders, transforming into a sizable blue ice dragon.

Rachel was amazed. She was sure that she could transform just like Aurora. But she needed time to be able to transform like that soon.

Aiden and Rachel climbed onto Aurora’s back. Aurora looked behind her, making sure they were holding on tightly.

In one long breath, Aurora flew into the sky through the clouds in the night. They flew in the kingdom’s sky by relying on Aiden’s digital map.

From the digital map, Aiden could confirm the distance from his location to Alron City left about 40-50 km.

Aurora should be able to take them directly to the city without having to rest first.

"When exactly will I be able to transform like Sis Aurora?" Rachel asked.

"You’ll have that chance later. The most important thing for now is to try to hold back the hunger in your stomach," Aiden replied, Rachel nodding.

Aiden watched them fly over one large city and 12 small villages. After about three hours of non-stop flying, Aiden finally saw that the location of his red dot on the digital map was close to Alron City.

As usual, Aiden told Aurora where to land, while still activating his ice camouflage magic.

Aurora nodded, finding a dense forest that Aiden thought would be a suitable place for them to land.

Rachel and Aiden dismounted from Aurora’s back, stepping back a few steps to allow Aurora to transform again.

They saw Aurora standing on the ground, no longer having trouble getting up as she had before. 𝚏𝕣𝐞𝗲𝐰𝕖𝐛𝐧𝕠𝕧𝚎𝚕.𝐜𝚘𝗺

Aiden smiled, it was good to see Aurora not exhausted after three hours of non-stop flying.

"How are you?" asked Aiden, Aurora nodding as she said she was fine.

"Good."

At night, in the middle of the quiet forest, they heard the faint sound of horse hooves and carriage wheels.

Aiden looked over and saw that there was a dirt road through the forest. There, a horse-drawn carriage was speeding away like it was being chased by something.

Bandits! The owner of the carriage was being chased by several bandits wearing mysterious, all-covering clothes. Aiden rushed over there with Aurora and Rachel following close behind.

"Aurora! Freeze them," Aiden stated, Aurora clearing her throat in reply.

They arrived in front of the carriage, further panicking the charioteer.

Aurora ran alongside the carriage, reaching her hand forward to turn the dirt road into an ice road, which instantly froze their legs to the knees.

"You’re not bandits?" the charioteer asked, stopping the horses.

"No, we’re not. We’ll help you deal with them, as long as you let us come to Arlon City," Aiden explained.

"Of course. I’ll give you some snacks too," the charioteer said, feeling very helpful.

"Very well."

Just as Aiden was about to finish them off, his steps were halted when Rachel spread her arms out to the side. That startled Aiden.

"What?" he asked.

"I’m hungry."

The man smiled broadly. Without taking out his skills, he invited Rachel to finish them off.

There was no guilt in Aiden’s heart, it was because they were bandits, they deserved to be killed.

Aiden released the fire energy rope binding Rachel’s hands, making Rachel dart forward and fly in front of the five bandits. Aiden shouted for Aurora to back off.

Sure enough! Rachel unleashed the flesh and soul absorption ability of her dark power. Aurora was shocked, she had just found out that Rachel ate human souls.

Slowly, the bodies of the five bandits became thin and lost some of their organs. Within 10 minutes, the five had turned into frozen bones.

"Ahh," Rachel expressed, relieved, "Human souls and flesh are the best."

"S-She eats humans?" asked Aurora.

"Are you still going to call it trash food?" asked Aiden, glancing over briefly.

"No!" explained Aurora, shaking her head, "Eating humans is disgusting."

Aiden tapped his forehead, not knowing how he was going to convince Aurora that Rachel was different from her, even though they were both dragons.

Rachel smiled, then strode cheerfully over to Aiden, saying that her job was done. The charioteer dismounted.

His face was completely shocked to find that the young man and his two friends were able to kill the five troublesome bandits so quickly.

"H-How did you kill them like that? Are you mages?" the charioteer asked, and Aiden cleared his throat.

Answering that they were mages was the best option. He didn’t want to spread any more wild speculation about dragons and such.

"Right, we’re mages."

The charioteer nodded. He kindly invited Aiden and his two friends to enter his carriage.

"Arlon City is close by, we’d better hurry there before other bandits come," the charioteer explained.

He also explained that if there was fruit in the wagon, the three could eat it but not all of it. Aiden thanked him, though none of them would eat it.

During the ride, Aurora kept asking about Rachel’s reasons for eating humans. Rachel began to explain that she did not only eat humans, but monsters and other living things with souls.

Aiden was silent, sitting cross-legged with his arms crossed. Occasionally, he would respond to their talk, but Aurora persisted in wanting Rachel to eat normal food.

"Listen to me! Monsters and humans aren’t good, even though I’ve never tried them," Aurora explained, advising Rachel like a big sister.

"You should try fish or chicken. They’re much tastier. Do you understand?" asked Aurora.

Rachel, younger with a lower dragon rank than Aurora, could only nod.

The black-haired girl was about to try eating fish or chicken food, but she couldn’t make any promises about whether she would like those types of food or not.

Not long after, the pace of the horse-drawn carriage stopped. Aiden opened the carriage curtain and saw that the carriage had arrived at Arlon City.

The three dismounted from the carriage and met the charioteer.

"You have helped me. I appreciate it," the old man explained.

"No problem. You have also given us a ride. We thank you too," Aiden said, bowing his head, Rachel followed along, but Aurora was reluctant to do so. As a result, Aiden immediately forced her into bowing.

"Haha! Your two friends are cute, wish you good luck in this city."
