Chapter 94: Escape from Shadow Dragon Clan

"What do you mean?" asked Aurora, confused. ๐™›๐’“๐“ฎ๐™š๐”€๐’†๐’ƒ๐“ท๐’๐“ฟ๐™š๐“ต.๐™˜๐’๐’Ž

Aiden squinted his eyes with his attention still focused on the prime minister and the commander of the Shadow Dragon Clanโ€™s troops. Realizing that Aiden was in their palace, he had no choice but to not make trouble.

There were many soldiers in this place. He also couldnโ€™t continue to rely on Aurora and Rachel to fight them, let alone the real shadow dragon clan that might threaten them. Looking for trouble here was the same as looking for death.

"Nothing."

Aiden fell back asleep on the bed to let his body fully recover. He closed the case and did not prolong it any further, the prime minister and the commander of the shadow dragon clan army could breathe a sigh of relief. They hurriedly left the room.

"Their behavior is strange," Aurora replied.

"But the important thing is that youโ€™re awake. Thatโ€™s certainly good news," Aurora explained, and Aiden nodded.

Aurora and Rachel began to explain about Amber and Fionaโ€™s whereabouts, and the events in the village before the Wasteland. Aiden listened. He hadnโ€™t expected the situation to be so complicated right when Aiden was still recovering.

A small battle broke out between Azar and Aurora. It was fortunate for Aurora that they were assisted by warriors from the Shadow Dragon Clan. Otherwise, there might have been a big fight capable of injuring Azar and Aurora.

"At least weโ€™re safe here, under their protection," Rachel replied.

"Yes, it seems that this will only be a safe place for you," Aiden explained.

"What do you mean?" asked Rachel, innocently confused.

Aiden and Aurora fell silent and exchanged glances with each other. Aiden sighed and closed his eyes again, Aurora began to focus on helping Aiden recover faster.

Rachel looked at them, Aidenโ€™s statement earlier was still imprinted in her head, as if it kept ringing to her. Slowly, Rachel began to understand the meaning of the sentence. Her first response was shock.

"What you mean isโ€”"

"You seem to understand faster, Rachel."

"B-But they wonโ€™t kill you and Aurora. Youโ€™re my friends," Rachel replied, her eyes sparkling.

Aurora stopped what she was doing. She reached out her hand to the side to grab Rachelโ€™s hand. The black-haired girl turned her head, looking sadly at Aurora.

"Iโ€™m an ice dragon clan, while heโ€™s human. There is no lawful obligation for the Shadow Dragon clan to protect us," Aurora replied.

Aiden cleared his throat. He got up and managed to move his legs. Aiden picked up the dagger he kept under the bed, a dagger with red blood still fresh on the blade. Aurora and Rachel gasped in shock.

"This dagger? It wasnโ€™t here before," Rachel said.

"This dagger appeared at the same time my clothes were torn off my left chest. You must know that this is the location of my heart," Aiden explained, holding his left breast.

"The appearance of those two men isnโ€™t exactly suspicious. I donโ€™t know them, they donโ€™t know you well, what did they come to this room for?" Aiden asked.

All of these assumptions led to the simple conclusion that some people in the Shadow Dragon Clan wanted Aiden dead. However, they hadnโ€™t calculated that Aiden had an immortal curse.

Thatโ€™s why they seemed shocked that Aiden didnโ€™t die, even though the prime minister thrust the dagger hard and deep into Aidenโ€™s left chest.

"This is impossible! I have to go meet them," Rachel replied.

Aiden scrambled out of bed and restrained Rachel. Reporting this to the King or whoever was in charge of the palace would not be effective, that was because Aiden had no idea who was behind this murder plot.

"Thatโ€™s useless. We donโ€™t know who the mastermind is. It could just be that those two guys are messengers," Aiden explained.

"Then whatโ€™s your plan, Aiden?" asked Aurora, curious.

Aiden was silent as he responded to Aurora. He turned his head to the side, staring at the glass window connected to his room. The only safe option for them was to escape.

Even so, it would be difficult for Rachel to escape as there would be many warriors on guard. Aiden would have Rachel enter his soul consciousness while waiting for the situation to be safe. If they had returned to the Clovis Kingdom, then they were safe.

Aurora nodded, there was nothing wrong with Aidenโ€™s plan. She would help him so that he could escape from this palace. As long as they were still in Horald Kingdom, then Aiden and Auroraโ€™s lives would never be safe.

Rachel listened and knew their plan. She closed her eyes and brought forth a black light from her body. From that light, she entered Aidenโ€™s body and settled right into the manโ€™s heart, his soul consciousness.

Aiden opened his eyes, seeing only Aurora beside him. Aurora nodded. She said that she would help Aiden leave the Shadow Dragon Clanโ€™s palace.

After packing up their things, they stepped out of the room and onto the front lawn. As per protocol, they started checking the things Aiden had brought.

"Where are you going?" one of the guards asked.

"I just woke up. Iโ€™m going to walk around this place," Aiden explained.

"Wait!"

The guard produced two tracking bracelets, which Rachel and her friends were required to wear. Aiden was shocked, not expecting them to track him in such a way.

"You put them on," the guard replied.

Aiden accepted the bracelets, but not Aurora. Aiden told her not to because Aurora was his tamer, there was no obligation for her to wear the tracking bracelet.

"What do you mean?" the guard asked, sharply.

"Listen! If she escapes, she wonโ€™t be far from me. So you should be looking for me, not her," Aiden explained, meeting the guardโ€™s gaze harshly.

The two stared at each other, in the end the guard agreed. However, in exchange, Aiden had to wear the two bracelets. Aiden didnโ€™t mind.

Once attached, they walked away from the place. The two of them blended into the crowd, preventing the guards from noticing them.

"Where are we going?" asked Aurora.

Aiden looked back, the two had gone far enough away from the gate of the Shadow Dragon Clanโ€™s palace, they wouldnโ€™t be suspected by the guards.

"Weโ€™re going to hide."

"But we need to find volunteers," Aiden explained.

"What do you mean?" Aurora asked.

"Youโ€™ll see what Iโ€™m talking about later."
