Chapter 98: Night at Dwarf Village

Aiden’s eyes flashed bright red, startling the dwarf and the other men in the place. Aurora smiled, she and Rachel knew exactly what Aiden’s reddened eyes meant.

Joe continued to stare forward, unintentionally having his eyes caught by the red light effect of the Beast King’s Eye talent. That way, Joe was completely trapped in Aiden’s beast control skill.

Just before slashing at Aiden’s neck, Joe’s movements came to a halt as his eyes lit up red. Aiden smiled, lowered Joe’s spear and stepped into the center of the stone field.

[Beast control successful]

Under Aiden’s skill control. Joe strode after Aiden like a dazed man. People gasped and were confused at Joe’s demeanor.

Not only them, but the dwarves also responded in the same way. Both of their eyes were glowing red like never before. The dwarf man thought that it must be Aiden’s special power.

"What’s wrong?" the dwarf man asked.

"The match is over," Aiden replied.

"But neither of you gave up."

Aiden smiled. He tapped Joe lightly on the shoulder, asking Joe to give up this match. Without rebelling, Joe dropped his spear and knelt down with his head bowed.

"I surrender!" said Joe.

"Woah! What’s wrong with him?"

"Wasn’t he leading earlier? Why surrender all of a sudden?!"

"Aiden’s magic ability is terrible."

People began to make wild assumptions. Not a few of them were convinced that Aiden had used mind control abilities. That was because Joe’s attitude was much different than before.

Rules were rules. Since Joe admitted defeat, even if he was affected or not, the ownership of the house would become completely Aiden’s.

"The third match is over. Aiden is the winner."

"Tonight’s match is over. You may rest," the man replied.

Those who did not challenge and were challenged could breathe a sigh of relief, at least tonight they could sleep soundly in their residences. Not a few of them invited the previous homeowners to stay overnight, even if they had to squeeze into the small stone houses made by the dwarf race.

Aiden snapped his fingers, removing the effect of the beast control on Joe. Shocked, Joe fell to his knees with a gasp. When he looked at the area around him, people had already left the stone field.

"Wh-What happened?" asked Joe, annoyed.

He turned around and saw the figure of Aiden. His eyes were luminous against the moon that shone brightly that night. Both eyes were looking at each other. Joe remembered that he was confined by the red chains and heard that Aiden was controlling his mind and body.

"Y-You?! What are you doing?" Joe asked.

"I’m controlling. That’s what I do," Aiden replied, briefly.

"Controlling me? No way! There’s no magic like that. I’m a rank A beast. I can’t be controlled by anyone!" shouted Joe, reluctant to admit that he was weak enough to be controlled.

"You don’t know what’s really going on in this world. You, the beasts, will never escape my eyes!" insisted Aiden, raising his voice with his eyes glaring at Joe.

That’s right! The red light appeared in Aiden’s eyes again, just like before. Joe gasped, he stepped back a few steps to get away from Aiden.

"Those eyes... that power...."

Aiden deactivated his Eye of the Beast King talent again. He began to walk followed by Aurora and Rachel towards the place where they were staying.

There was a reason why they had to fight over each other and couldn’t live together. The house was very small, made of stone and could only fit one person per stone house. If they insisted, it would torment them all night.

"Now I know why this house has to be fought over and can only be one person per house," Aiden explained.

"What is this?! Do they think we’re beavers?!" complained Aurora, seeing that the house they were going to live in was so small.

"Forget it!"

"I’d rather live in your body," Aurora said.

Unprepared, Aurora transformed herself into a ball of energy and entered Aiden’s consciousness. Rachel did something similar. She couldn’t sleep in cramped quarters, probably some kind of claustrophobia —not a fear of Santa Claus.

Aiden sighed. He was forced to be the one to sleep in the stone house. If he didn’t sleep, he’d be awake all night.

"I saw your eyes glowing red. What was that?" the dwarf man asked, curious.

The man paused, then turned to look at the dwarf man who had approached him. He then looked at Joe, seeing that the man was still sitting in the middle of the stone field. Joe must have been devastated to see what had happened.

"That’s one of my talent abilities, the Eye of the Beast King," Aiden replied.

"The Eye of the Beast King? I’ve never heard of that before," said the dwarf man.

"It’s a special talent I got in a certain way," Aiden explained.

"Hmm. Is it possible that talent affected Joe?"

Aiden paused. It seemed that they had clearly seen the moment Aiden used the talent, so they could confirm that Aiden was using that power to control other beasts.

Since they already knew, Aiden couldn’t hide it any further. After all, beast races like them would not be able to survive under the effects of his eyes.

"I’m controlling it, not influencing its mind."

"Hmm, does that only happen to him?" the dwarf asked.

Aiden smiled. He reactivated his beast king’s eye talent, shining a bright red light that startled the dwarf man beside him.

"No, no. I can control all beasts, both non-racial and racial beasts. If I can control Joe, then I can control you," Aiden replied.

The dwarf man looked wary, trying to avert his eyes from Aiden’s direction. Aiden laughed at the man’s alertness; he was genuinely afraid of Aiden’s control.

"Hurry up and get some rest! You must be tired, right?" the dwarf asked.

Aiden cleared his throat, deactivating his beast king eye talent. He said goodbye to the dwarf as he entered the small domed house. He tried to close his eyes to rest, but the noise from outside the house startled him again.

The man woke up annoyed, the man outside who called out to him was really looking to die on him. Quickly, Aiden stepped outside and opened the curtains. He clearly saw Joe there with his purple and black spear.

"You?!"

"Aiden! Let’s have a rematch," Joe challenged.

"Huh?! Are you out of your mind?!"
