Chapter 384: He Is Coming

As Sunny walked, the ambient divinity in the air clung to him like a shroud. His tattered rags flickered, the fabric unraveling and reknitting at a molecular level; they glowed with a soft, ethereal luminescence before transforming into a sharp black shirt and tailored pants, topped off with a majestic white fur overcoat that rippled like mountain mist.

BAM!

The Spider, staggering from the previous impact, forced itself upright. It loomed over Sunny, its many eyes twitching with a mixture of predatory instinct and burgeoning terror. Sunny stood before it, his expression unreadable, arms still folded behind his back as if he were merely observing a minor inconvenience.

"Who do you think will win?" Sadie asked, pushing himself up from his kneeling position. The others followed, their bodies huming with the newfound Saint-class power Sunny had bestowed upon them.

"Is that even a question? Of course, that Spider doesn’t stand a chance!" Rebecca said with a sharp smirk. She flexed her fingers, feeling the intoxicating bliss of her recovered strength coursing through her veins.

Jenner didn’t speak. She simply watched their new Lord and Master, her eyes reflecting the golden aura he emitted.

"Do you have something to say before you die, Der?" Sunny asked. His voice wasn’t filled with rage; it was the cold, terrifying calm of a judge delivering a final verdict.

"Yes!!"

The spider stared at Sunny, its Mandibles clicking. It didn’t strike. It didn’t roar. It let the silence stretch until the tension was unbearable, and then, in a display that shattered the expectations of everyone present, it collapsed onto its belly, its twenty legs splaying out in submission.

"Please, God of Death! I beg you, forgive me! I won’t do it again! I know I am a stupid and tiny bug. Just take me like a tiny bug and toss me aside! Please don’t kill me!"

"Huh?!!"

"....?!!!!"

"What the fuck?!!"

Jenner, Rebecca, and Sadie were flabbergasted. They stood with open mouths and wide eyes, staring at the once-haughty True God-class monster now groveling in the dirt. They had expected a battle that would rend the heavens; instead, they were witnessing a pathetic plea for mercy.

Sunny stared down at the creature for several moments before exhaling a breath that chilled the air. "Ezekiel kept you here as a way of sparing your life in the past. But you didn’t show gratitude for that. Instead... you attacked."

Sunny raised a single finger into the air, pointing it directly at the trembling monstrosity.

"You will be more suited as my soldier."

CRACK!!

SCREECH!!!

The spider let out a shriek that tore through the valley as all its legs simultaneously cracked and bent at impossible angles. Before the stunned eyes of the three protectors, the limbs were forcibly wrenched from the spider’s torso.

"AHHH!!! IF YOU WANT TO KILL ME! I WILL FIGHT BACK!!!"

Driven by the desperation of a cornered beast, the Spider spat a torrent of viscous, black webs from its remaining two heads, aiming to entomb Sunny.

To its horror, the web froze mid-air. It didn’t just stop; it retracted, twisting in the air like a living serpent and wrapping violently around the spider’s own body.

"What is this?!" the creature shrieked, struggling against its own silk.

"Struggling is useless." Sunny lowered his hand, his gaze cold. The webs tightened with a mechanical, crushing force.

CRACK!!

Massive fissures appeared on the spider’s obsidian carapace, spreading like a web of glass.

"No!!!!"

The monster let out one final, agonized scream before its own webbing shattered its body, reducing the True God-rank entity into a mess of green goo and biological waste.

’No EXP... Seems I can’t gain exp anymore.’ Sunny thought, noting the lack of the familiar system chime. He looked at the acidic goo splattered across the grass, though not a single drop touched his polished shoes or white coat.

"Oh well... Let’s summon this guy." He raised his hand and snapped his fingers.

BOOOOOOM!!

Vast plumes of dark energy smoke erupted from the remains of the spider. The shadows coalesced, twisting together to form the skeletal frame of the beast, now clad in spectral black armor and glowing with a ghostly green flame.

"Master!" the bone spider hissed, bowing its five skeletal heads to the ground.

"Good." Sunny nodded.

’Thanks to Ezekiel’s knowledge, I don’t have to Master all his skills. Even summoning and recruiting the dead into my dark legions is instinctive now. Thanks to the system, my billions of Mercenaries are all among my legion, each having the strength of a transcendent class.’

Suddenly, a sharp frown creased his brow as the system interface flickered into his vision, scrolling through a list of notifications that made his blood run cold.

{Congratulations, Subordinate Jinx killed 2,266,892 enemies.}

{Congratulations, Subordinate Nioh killed 596,812 enemies.}

{Congratulations, Subordinate Blood Eye killed 367,892 enemies.}

{Congratulations, Subordinate Nicolas killed 723,892 enemies.}

{Congratulations, Ellen killed 2,066,222 enemies.}

’What the hell is happening back home?!!! Why so many enemies?!!’ He turned his head to the three guardians behind him.

"Let’s go." 𝒻𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝘯𝘰𝑣ℯ𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝘮

Before they could even formulate a reply, the space around them warped. They vanished in a flash of golden light, the gargantuan skeleton spider dissolving into shadow to follow.

[Lower World - Eldoria]

Time in the lower world moved differently than in the divine realms. It had already been six months since Sunny’s disappearance. In that time, Eldoria had transformed into a protective fortress. Josephine had exhausted every resource, searching for her husband. She had even located the Star Nation’s ultimate weapon, only to find the cockpit cold and empty.

She stood now in the grand throne room, positioned between the two thrones—hers and Sunny’s. Her face was etched with the weariness of a ruler at war, but her eyes remained sharp.

WHOOSH!

"Huh?"

She clutched her chest, her breath hitching. The mate bond, which had been a faint, aching thrum for months, suddenly surged with the power of a tidal wave. Her spirit energy began to skyrocket.

"This?"

She cradled her swollen stomach. She could feel her cultivation level leaping—reaching the peak of the third order and threatening to shatter the ceiling into the fourth.

’What is this? No... I have to hold back all this energy. I can’t risk breaking through to the next rank and indirectly injuring my babies.’ She thought, forcing her breathing to regulate.

Because of the "Cosmic Brain" bond Sunny had established, all his subordinates were tethered to his soul. As he ascended to Godhood, the overflow of his divinity was flooding the link. Sunny’s current rank was so incomprehensibly high that his commanders were breaking through ranks as easily as walking through a garden.

BOOOOOM!!

Josephine turned to the window. In the distance, pillars of brilliant light shot into the darkened sky, marking the breakthrough of his commanders. High above the city, the dragon Ladon hovered, his black scales reflecting the sudden celestial activity.

’Love. I know you won’t leave us...’

A smile, the first to touch her lips in half a year, finally bloomed on her face.

"My Queen!"

She looked over her shoulder to see Morgana rushing toward her, her robes fluttering.

"The commanders, Ellen, and Jinx?" Josephine asked, her eyes now fixed on the thrones.

"The princesses and all the commanders suddenly felt a violent flow of energy. I’ve teleported them out of the city to safely break through to the next rank. The dragons are maintaining a defensive perimeter," Morgana explained, pausing to look at Josephine with concern.

"Didn’t you feel anything? Your bond should be the strongest."

"Don’t worry about me," Josephine said, her voice filled with a newfound, unshakable certainty as she looked at Sunny’s empty throne.

"He is coming back to us."
