Infinite wealth In A New World-Chapter 386: Eldoria’s Stand
The Prince slowly removed his hand from his face, peering through the cockpit’s reinforced glass. What met his gaze was not the fiery demise he expected, but a horrific barrier—a wall of eyes floating in the void in front of the ship. Thousands of frozen, multifaceted lenses, conjured from ice, had completely blocked the missiles’ explosion, staring back at the void with cold indifference.
He turned his head to the other ships, seeing them encased in thick, jagged ice armor.
"I thought I was dead." He muttered to himself, placing his hand on his chest to calm down his beating heart.
"Such puny attacks are useless against me." The Ice Man said, his voice dripping with boredom as he stared at the thousands of drones unleashing countless fire attacks at the five ships. The flames washed over his ice barriers, fizzling out harmlessly in the vacuum.
"This is so annoying!" He stretched forth his hand, and clenched his fist. The ambient temperature of space somehow dropped even lower, reaching absolute zero.
"Ice rage!"
BOOOOOOM!!
The ice armor around the five ships instantly shattered, exploding outward with kinetic force. The countless ice spikes flew with deadly speed, tearing through the vacuum like diamond shrapnel. They smashed into the drones, piercing their alloy shells and icing them instantly, turning the swarm into a graveyard of frozen metal.
"Get off my planet!!"
The roar vibrated through the hulls of the invading fleet.
"Huh?"
The Ice Man looked up in surprise. Emerging from the planet’s atmosphere like a swarm of angry hornets, thousands of battleships and warships flew out of the planet.
He stared at the biggest vessel, the Star Ship, a technological marvel twice the size of the others. Through the magi-tech projection screens, he could see Josephine standing on the bridge, flanked by Morgana and Hazel.
"Hmm..." He turned his head to another ship, seeing the princes of the Dragon Nation on the bridge. He moved his gaze all over, seeing each nation’s Kings, Queens, Princesses, and even Princes commanding their respective fleets.
"Oh wow... I didn’t expect they’ll all bring themselves to me. How nice!"
He opened his clenched fist. Instantly, all the millions of ice shards floating in space flew towards him, converging and compacting until they formed a huge sword suspended above the ship—a blade large enough to cleave a moon in two.
"This?" Morgana was stunned, looking at the tactical display on the Star Ship.
"The weapons, once fired. It’ll take weeks to recharge again... So he won’t fire recklessly." She said, analyzing the enemy’s gigantic ice blade. She pointed her finger at it. 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝙚𝔀𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝒐𝒎
"We need to do something about that, one swing of it, and all our ships will be destroyed." She explained, her voice tight.
"Then we will have to deal with it." Josephine turned her head to the holographic screen, staring at the AI interface which had automatically come back online the moment she stepped onto the bridge.
"Can you help with this?" She asked.
{Yes, Madam... What do you need?}
The system’s voice sounded all over the ship, cool and synthetic, stunning Morgana and everyone else on the bridge—except Josephine.
"I want those ships gone, I don’t care how you accomplish it!" She yelled, the command ringing with the authority of an Empress.
{Are you sure about that Madam? There are people in the other warships.}
"Hmm..." Josephine thought for some seconds. She closed her eyes and switched on her Cosmic Brain, the mental network connecting her to her subordinates. A holographic screen appeared in front of her.
"Everyone, with the authority of the empress of Eldoria, you are all ordered to abandon ship, use your Teleportation crystal and return to Eldoria... Leave the rest to the mother ship." She ordered.
Morgana blinked, stunned. ’This is new... If we had known there was such an AI on this ship, we won’t have brought anyone with us... But...’
She turned to Josephine, watching the pregnant Queen with wide eyes. ’Did she know this or just finding this out? And what is this AI planning on doing?’
Josephine, Hazel, and Morgana watched the monitors. One at a time, the thermal signatures of the crew on the other ships vanished. Even the two pilots in all the battleships used the crystals, disappearing from their ships in flashes of blue light.
Hazel watched in confusion. Without a pilot, the ships should have all shut down, drifting aimlessly. But they were still active, their engines humming with aggressive intent.
"Let me ask you one question, is your master coming?" Josephine asked, not staring at the screen, but looking out into the stars.
{Yes, Madam. In some minutes, the Master will be here.}
Josephine nodded, a fierce light returning to her eyes. She stared at the five enemy ships before her. "Start."
{YES.}
BOOOOOOM!!
"Huh?"
The Ice Man and the Prince blinked, watching as the thousands of empty battleships and warships ignited their afterburners. They shot towards them, not slowing down for a second.
"What the hell?!! Are they planning on blowing themselves up?!! With us?!!" The Prince yelled in horror, gripping the console.
"I don’t know she is that crazy." The Ice Man stared at the approaching armadas. His enhanced vision pierced the cockpits, seeing... nothing.
’Something isn’t right... There is no one controlling those ships, how are they still operating?’ A frown appeared on his ice face. With a drop of his hand, the massive ice sword dived, aiming at the incoming warships.
BOOOOOOM!!
It slashed ten ships into halves. Instantly, the ten exploded in balls of nuclear fire, but the rest of the swarm did not waver.
"This is crazy!" The Prince yelled.
The sheer volume of ships overwhelmed the defense. The Eldorian fleet smashed into theirs, but to their surprise, the ships didn’t bounce off. They stuck with theirs like a magnet on an iron, grappling hooks and magnetic locks engaging upon impact.
"This?"
BAM!
BAM!
BAM!
All the ships smashed into all the weapons, covering them in a pile of metal, effectively burying the enemy dreadnoughts in a tomb of starships.
{Detonation Activated.}
"This?" Hazel was speechless, realizing the plan. She sharply turned to the ships.
BOOOOOOM!!!!!
The silence of space was shattered by a cataclysm. The entire fleet exploded in unison. The shockwave was blinding. It shattered all the weapons ships into ashes, ripping the hijacked dreadnoughts apart. Metal, ice, and fire mixed in a chaotic nebula, the parts floating all over space.
Josephine stood with a blank expression, unbothered by the destruction of billions of money worth of military hardware. She stared at the two figures hovering before them amidst the wreckage, surrounded by balls of blue energy shielding them from the blast.
"The Weapons?" The Phoenix Prince muttered in disbelief, staring at the remains of the five weapons that were supposed to conquer the galaxy.
"She is truly insane, those battleships and warships could take down any city no matter the size, she just destroyed them all just to protect her nation, she even sacrificed her people!!" He added, his voice trembling. He looked at the Star ship, which stood before them, untouched.
"No... There weren’t any pilots or crews in those ships. Something else was controlling them." The Ice Man said, floating amidst the debris.
"Yeah, Cosmic brain could control highest, one hundred battleships, and fifty warships... But that was tens of thousands of ships! There is no cosmic brain in the world that can accomplish that!" The Prince stated, his expression pale.
"Just shut up." The man snapped at him. He floated forward, his aura expanding to fill the void, and stared at Josephine through the Star Ship’s viewport.
"Empress Josephine... What do you say? Surrender now and become my slave. I won’t harm the kids in you then... But if you go against me... Well, you already know the outcome." He yelled, his voice projecting psychically into their minds.
"You are funny." Josephine said, enhancing her voice with her spirit energy so it broadcasted back to him.
"The moment you stepped in this world, we have been enemies!"
"You really want to go against me to the end?!! Don’t you value your life?!" The Ice Man yelled in rage. His patience was gone.
"My target is God wolf! Just give your husband’s location and I will let you go!!" He said, and added:
"Do you think you can defeat a ninth order? I am not someone you can deal with!!" He yelled.
Above him, the ambient moisture of the cosmos began to gather. An Ice Skull, the size of a small moon, appeared above space, its hollow eyes fixed on the Star Ship.
"Ice funeral!"
He raised his hand towards the skull. His physical body shattered into light, flying forward, and merged with the skull, animating it with his consciousness.
"That is a forbidden skill!" Morgana exclaimed in shock, staring at the gigantic visage of death.
{Warning Madam, the Ship isn’t built to withstand such an attack.}
Josephine listened to the warning. She felt the pressure of the skull weighing on the ship’s shields. She stared at the skull, and a smile appeared on her lips.
"It’s a good thing you merged with this skull... I was getting worried." She said, with a smile that didn’t reach her eyes.
"Huh?"
Everyone was stunned. Even the Skull froze, everyone staring at the Queen in confusion.
