Chapter 388: I Am Back

"Phoenix Heaven fire!!!" She yelled. π—³πš›π—²π•–π•¨π•–π—―πš—πš˜π•§π•–π—Ή.π—°π—Όπ•ž

BOOOOOOM!!!!

The void of space was instantly illuminated. A bright beacon of shine shone in deep space, effectively erasing the darkness of the cosmos. Everyoneβ€”from the bridge of the Star Ship to the surface of the planetβ€”watched as the light got closer and brighter, moving with incredible speed.

"What the hell is this?" The creature asked in confusion, watching the light moving towards him. The heat signature was off the charts, rising into the millions of degrees.

’I can’t dodge! If I move, the concentration of energy will shatter the black hole behind me... I will have to face this head on.’

He thought, gritting his teeth. He clenched his fists, strengthening the absolute zero ice on his body, layering it thick enough to withstand a supernova.

"Fool!"

Hazel floated on the bridge, her eyes glowing crimson. She stretched forth her hand toward him, channeling the anger of a fallen Queen, and clenched her fist.

"Sun Funeral." She stated.

WHOOSH!!!!

The light beam increased its speed, transcending physical limits. It smashed into the man with so much force that the shockwave rippled through the vacuum.

CRACK!

The impact was devastating. The heat instantly warred with the cold, causing a thermal shock that cracked his ice armor.

"This?!" He looked at his body in shock, watching as he started melting. The permafrost that could freeze time was dripping away like slush.

"What sorts of attack is this!!" He yelled in pain, his voice distorting.

Morgana dropped to her knees, sweat pouring down her face. She placed both her hands on the ship’s floor, pouring her spirit energy into the runes. Instantly, the golden chains wrapping around the planet moved. They lashed out like serpents and wrapped around their own ship, holding them down against the violent turbulence of the solar wind and black hole.

"That is the might of the sun." Hazel said, her voice resounding all over space.

"The Sun!!"

The creature turned his head to the direction of the light. With his enhanced vision, he followed the beam across the light-years until he saw the Sun itself, pulsing in rhythm with Hazel’s heartbeat.

"You actually drew this attack from the Sun?!!" He yelled in shock, watching as more cracks appeared on his body, reaching his core.

"Truthfully, if you three were all in the sixth order or maybe seventh... I would be dead a long time ago." He said, his voice dropping an octave, becoming guttural and ancient. He stared at the three women in the starship’s cockpit through the blinding light.

"Too bad you aren’t close to those ranks!"

A thick, oily black mist started emanating from his body. The corruption was palpable, forcing the sun beam backwards, suffocating the holy fire.

"This?! Impossible!" Hazel exclaimed in shock, feeling her connection to the star weakening.

"Don’t be surprised. He is right, we aren’t his match... He is a ninth order powerhouse! We aren’t even in the sixth order." Morgana exhaled, wiping blood from her nose. The gap in cultivation was simply too wide to bridge with talent alone.

"When Sunny fought a Ninth order, they almost destroyed a whole world... All this while, this guy hasn’t used his full strength." She added, realization dawning on her.

CRACK!!!

"HAHAHA! You are a bit sensible! It’s time to get serious!!"

The three women watched in horror as his body started cracking. The ice didn’t melt; it shattered and fell off, revealing what was hidden beneath.

He wasn’t an elemental. He was a monster.

The ice fell away, revealing a creature with skin as black as nightβ€”obsidian scales that absorbed all light. Two massive, curved horns grew on his head, pulsating with violet runes. A spiked tail followed, lashing the void, and then lastly, two massive demonic wings unfurled, spanning kilometers.

"Hahaha! This is my true form! You three should be honored you got to see it before your death!"

With a wave of his hand, he slapped the solar beam. The Sunlight shattered into pieces like glass, dissolving into harmless sparks.

"You’re just a divine rank, don’t think you can defeat me!" He said to Hazel, mocking her effort.

He raised his hand into the air, the black hole behind him roaring in approval.

"I told you! Today, I will destroy this planet!"

WHOOSH!!

The singularity responded. A black energy ball appeared in the maw of the black hole. It spun violently, feeding on the void, and growing in sizes until it was as big as a moon. It was a sphere of pure annihilation.

"Survive this if you can!!!!"

He yelled, and with a violent throw of his hand, the black energy ball, crackling with dark lightning, shot towards the ship.

{Warning!! Impact Imminent. Structural Integrity will be compromised.}

The three women turned to the red alert light flashing all over the place, a frown on their faces.

"What is the plan?!" Hazel asked, staring at the moving energy with dread.

Josephine looked over her shoulder at them, then turned her head to the attack. Her mind raced. If they dodged, the attack would bypass them and smash into the planet. It would crack the crust and destroy Eldoria instantly. But if she stays... They’ll surely die.

She placed her hand on her stomach, feeling the lives within her. She stared at the attack with the eyes of a ruler.

"We defend." She said.

"...?!"

The two ladies blinked in shock.

"Defend?! We can use the teleportation crystal and get off this place!" Morgana yelled at her, panic rising. "We can’t tank a moon-sized attack!"

"I know, but then what? If he destroys the ship, he will destroy the planet next!" Josephine yelled back, her voice breaking.

"It’s the same thing, whatever we choose. It’ll be the same answer." She sighed softly, accepting her fate. She would be the shield for her people.

WHOOSH!!!!

The attack closed the distance rapidly, devouring the space between them. It appeared 50 meters from the ship, filling the entire viewport with darkness.

The three looked at one another, and exhaled.

"Ok then. But I am not going down without a fight." Morgana said, and drew her staff, flaring her crimson aura one last time.

WHOOSH!

10 Meters.

The gravity of the sphere was already tearing the ship’s hull plating apart. The three women got ready for the collision, closing their eyes for the end.

But to their shock, the moment the attack smashed into the ship’s nose...

POOF.

It didn’t explode. It didn’t incinerate them.

It shattered into flowers. Millions of red rose flowers.

".....?!"

"Huh?"

"What the hell?!"

Everyone was stunned. Even the demon creature was dumbfounded, his jaw dropping as he stared at the sea of red petals floating all over space, drifting harmlessly against the hull.

BOOOOOOM!!

The silence was broken not by an explosion, but by pressure. An unknown presence descended all over the lower worldβ€”a pressure so heavy that reality itself groaned.

Instantly, the black hole behind the creature shattered into pieces like a broken mirror. The space mended itself and closed back up, terrified of the new arrival.

"This?" The creature moved his gaze around the place, his eyes filled with fear. His demonic instincts were screaming at him to run.

"Is that?"

Morgana muttered, staring at the monitor. Three figures were standing in front of the ship, floating in the vacuum without suits. The energies emanating from them were so suffocating that the three, who were inside a shielded ship, felt it in their bones.

"Stop showing off you three."

A soft and familiar voice sounded from behind the three women, right inside the locked bridge.

The three women froze in shock. The air in the room had changed. None of them had felt a presence, no teleportation signature, no door opening. And now... Someone was right behind them.

Furthermore, the voice sounded familiar. It sounded like home.

Morgana and Hazel slowly turned their heads.

They stared at the commander’s seat. There, sitting comfortably with one leg crossed over the other, wearing a pristine white fur coat that contrasted with the battle-worn room, was a man with golden eyes.

A smile was on his faceβ€”arrogant, calm, and utterly reassuring.

"I am back."
