Chapter 419: We Can Buy A City If We Want To

"Is that?!!" Esther was speechless, her jaw practically unhinging as she stared at the four sports cars standing in front of her.

In the midst of the grime and decay of the Southern District, the vehicles shone like polished gems dropped into a mud puddle. They didn’t just look expensive; they looked alien in their perfection, their paint catching the dull sun and throwing it back with arrogant brilliance.

Lucian stepped out of the black Bugatti, the door rising smoothly. He adjusted his collar, looking entirely too comfortable amidst such extravagance.

"What kept you guys waiting... We have things to do," He added, leaning casually against the multimillion-dollar machine as if it were a park bench.

"Like you like working." Treasure shook her head, dismissing his feigned diligence. She turned to Esther, expecting a question, only to see the lady drooling.

"Ahhh!!" Esther yelled, a sound that was half-scream, half-worship, shocking the four royals. She rushed towards the cars, her hands hovering trembling inches above the metal, afraid to defile it.

"This is Rolls-Royce La Rose Noire Droptail!! It cost 30 million dollars." She jumped to the next car, her eyes widening to the size of saucers.

"This is Rolls-Royce Boat Tail worth 28 million dollars!!." She jumped to the third, darting past the stunned Lucian who blinked at her sudden burst of energy.

"This beauty here is Bugatti La Voiture Noire!! Worth 20 million dollars, and the last!" She moved to the final luxurious sports car, her voice cracking with hysteria: 𝓯𝓻𝒆𝙚𝒘𝓮𝙗𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝒍.𝙘𝓸𝙢

"This is Pagani Zonda HP Barchetta!! Worth 15 million dollars!!"

The street had gone silent. Even the passersby—weary citizens of City X used to keeping their heads down—all stopped in their tracks, staring at the cars in awe, surprise, and disbelief. In a district where people struggled for a meal, this fleet was a hallucination of wealth.

"Now, who is the one yelling?" Treasure asked with an eye roll, amused by the reaction.

"Wait." Esther rushed back towards her, stopping in front of Treasure. Her face was flushed, her earlier stoicism completely evaporated.

"You said you don’t have money, then how did you afford these?" She asked, her brain trying to reconcile their earlier poverty with this display.

"You got me wrong... I said we don’t have money, meaning, we don’t have your world’s money... That’s why Lucian went out to exchange our money with yours." She explained, and placed her hands on the shocked Esther’s shoulders to steady her:

"We four have enough money to buy this whole city, and even five more cities... To us, a hundred of billions is nothing but numbers." She smiled, a terrifyingly casual admission of resources that could topple economies.

Esther blinked, staring at her in shock. "Having that much money... Is that even possible?" She asked.

"Sister, here." Treasure turned to Lucian, who tossed a sleek box to her. Treasure let go of Esther and caught the phone mid-air.

"This is iPhone 17 pro max!" Esther muttered in disbelief, staring at the unreleased, cutting-edge tech.

"Is that a good thing?" Treasure asked in confusion. She knew how to use the device, but the brand name meant nothing to her.

"You’re kidding me, this is one of the best phones in this world! And it’s 3 million just to buy one." Esther moved her gaze on the rest of the group, seeing the same phones in all their hands.

"And you have four of them." She blinked.

’Are these guys truly that wealthy?! Are they royalties in their worlds?’ She thought, finally beginning to grasp the scale of the beings she was dealing with. They weren’t just powerful; they were sovereign.

"Snap out of it. If you want one, just tell me," Treasure stated, already operating her new phone with bored proficiency.

"Forget that for now." Jinx kept her phone in her coat pocket and turned to Esther, her expression shifting back to business.

"Have anywhere in mind you want to check out first?" She asked.

"Oh... Umm... Yes, the base, it got attacked last night by Patricia..." Esther shook her head to clear the fog of shock. She turned to Lucian, her expression hardening. "There is something I need from that Base." She added.

"Hmm... Ok, let’s go."

Jinx started walking towards her car. She opened her palm, and Lucian dropped the key on it with a metallic clink.

"Good job," She added.

"Haha! It’s nothing." Lucian smiled proudly, puffing out his chest.

"I don’t understand." Destiny took a car key from Lucian’s palm, his face a mask of apathy. "Why are you smiling so proudly at yourself? Are you proud of yourself?" He asked.

"Hey..." Lucian stopped himself, looking at Destiny. "You won’t understand grown up’s things." He said.

Destiny narrowed his eyes, unimpressed by the deflection, and walked away towards his Pagani Zonda HP Barchetta.

"That brother of mine, sometimes he gives me the creeps. Well, he’s the heaven of ultimate pain." Lucian muttered, a shiver running down his spine, and tossed the last key to Treasure.

"Esther, you’re riding with me," Jinx said, getting into the driver’s seat of her Rolls-Royce La Rose Noire Droptail.

"Really?"

Esther rushed towards her, getting into the passenger seat.

"Just lead the way." Jinx stated, her hands gripping the leather wheel.

"Yes."

’Wow... I can’t believe I am in Rolls-Royce La Rose Noire Droptail!! I have only entered the Pagani Zonda HP Barchetta, but not this,’ She thought to herself, running her hands over the dashboard. She felt the softness of the seats, the ergonomic perfection of the headrest, and looked at the complex controls in front of her.

"I am waiting."

Jinx’s cold words snapped her from her shock.

"Oh!! Just straight ahead!" Esther quickly said, pointing down the cracked asphalt road.

Jinx started the car. The engine purred like a contained beast before shooting forward, the three other supercars following in a perfect formation behind her, leaving the rundown motel in the dust.

WHOOSH!

On the roof of the motel, the shadows twisted unnaturaly. Dark smoke congregated, swirling together until it took the form of a man in a black outfit, a heavy cloak with the logo of a skull emblazoned on its back flapping in the wind. He crossed his arms on his chest, staring at the retreating taillights.

"Who are those guys?" He muttered with a slight frown, his long brown hair moving in the wind.

He raised his hand, sensing the residual energy in the air, and clenched his fist. His red eyes glowed with sudden realization. "Huh?"

He blinked. "A summoning? Is this related to these newcomers?" He muttered. The energy signature was faint, but distinct. He dissolved, his form losing cohesion as he shattered into smoke, drifting away on the breeze.
