Island God: Going From Level 1 To World Ruler-Chapter 66: Fun Nights
That night, Dorian had fun.
...
Thousands of miles southeast, Midas walked out of the meeting room inside the mosquito mud vault.
He had a nonchalant expression. Bzzrt and his ten soldiers followed shortly behind him.
Once Midas made it to the platform that overlooked the hollow interior of the dome again, he now noticed that every single mosquito within was looking up directly toward him.
"Our new leader." The mosquitoes spoke amongst themselves.
"If this is the choice of our wise leader, then I must agree to it with all my heart."
"Are you sure... I mean... who knows why lord Bzzrt made this decision."
"Yeah... we still don’t know if it was his own free will that chose this."
"No, I believe in the king. I will follow him."
"We all must, whether we like it or not."
The murmurs echoed lightly through the walls. Without Midas’s enhanced hearing from the first breath, he probably wouldn’t have caught it all.
It was all Angesh, the universal tongue of Fell-Terra.
’Im surprised even mosquitoes choose to speak in Angesh even though they have a mother tongue in the insect world. Regardless, it looks like these mosquitoes need some convincing before they lay their lives for me. Bzzrt, on the other hand, should be fine.’ Midas thought to himself.
’I don’t think I can change their opinions on me so early. I will have to prove to them that I am worthy of being called their emperor.’ He said inwardly. Behind him, King Bzzrt floated forward and stood over the ledge.
"Spread the word!" His voice reverberated through the walls, catching everyone’s attention, "With my own free choice and judgement, I have made a decision that I truly believe will benefit our colony!" He shouted, turning and gazing at Midas for a couple of seconds.
He faced the mosquitoes below again.
"From today onward, we are all below the almighty ruler of Demadur Island!" Bzzrt yelled.
Midas’s eyes flew slightly wider in surprise, ’Ruler of Demdur already, huh?’ He smiled. ’I like this mosquito’s belief in me.’ He thought to himself.
"May he conquer the mighty White Orcs of Karak-O!" Bzzrt’s voice resounded once again.
Cheers sounded from below, causing Midas’s smile to grow a bit wider.
"Bzzrt!" He said, "Let’s go. Bring yourself and three hundred soldiers. Make them carry the blood sacs. Also, order some of your men to begin gathering food for the rest of my company as well. There are about fifty of us." He spoke with a stern yet calm and confident tone. It was as though he had the mind of someone much older and more experienced than himself.
Bzzrt was quite surprised by the final part of Midas’s statement.
"O-only fifty!? But how then did you manage to attack us from all sides?" The king blurted with confusion.
Midas turned, smiling. "Don’t worry too much about that for now. Just know that we didn’t attack from all sides." He said, walking toward the exit.
’Well... the real reason I’m not directly telling him the truth is to make sure he doesn’t get any ideas. Until I subdue the orcs, my entire team’s existence is at risk.’ Midas thought to himself.
He also included the fact that they didn’t attack from all sides just to confuse Bzzrt.
’We didn’t attack from all sides. Unless you are talking about all four directions. We only attacked from ten different sides out of the thousands in a circle.’ He thought.
Although confused, Bzzrt decided to shrug off this rubbish for now and follow Midas.
The soldiers behind him heard Midas’s order, having already split up to perform their duties of getting their new master’s word fulfilled.
Midas exited the dome atop Bzzrt’s back. He stood firm, his eyes wide as he gazed into the horizon.
’This is a familiar feeling. It reminds me of my first day on this island. When that mosquito picked me up and carried me through the sky.’ He mused, ’But of course, this time, it’s way more pleasant.’
The only reason he hadn’t noticed this earlier was that he was too busy focusing on other things taking priority in his mind.
Behind Bzzrt, a group of large soldier mosquitoes began to form a massive army in the shape of a square. Three hundred robust insects gathered, following their new leader.
Hours passed...
Night fell over Midas’s base.
Currently, the spike-walled estate was lit up with excitement.
Lanterns were spread far, bunched up together to create a bright atmosphere.
Goblins and mosquitoes alike bumped shoulders as they chuckled to themselves, large mugs of beer in their hands.
Midas had hosted a party!
Since the giant mosquitoes were ordered to bring food, the feast was already prepared. The goblins lit up the place and rolled out barrels of various types of alcohol.
During their time at the new base, they found the stress-free time to learn new skills, including how to brew new ales!
At the present time, everyone sat around the center of the homestead. Mosquitos and goblins were spread equally, with no segregation between them.
A large fire was hosted in the middle, the peak reaching over fifty feet (fifteen meters) in height.
Midas sat in the front row seat, Gool standing in the center with a drink in his hand.
Midas was smiling with a red face while gazing at Gool, as were most others nearby.
"To new friendships..." Gool paused, anticipation rising in the crowd. "New beginnings... and the destruction of the malicious orc rule!" He yelled at the top of his lungs, thrusting his mug outward.
In a swift and timed motion, hundreds of mugs flew into the air merely a second afterward. A resounding swish sounded in the air.
Midas laughed, enjoying this night.
Just then, his smile disappeared. He gazed at everyone around him.
They were smiling. Laughing. Teasing each other and butting heads in horseplay.
’Tomorrow, the orc mission will begin.’ He said to himself, ’It will be the most dangerous quest since now... even more dangerous than the Sergalas mission.’
