Lady Meilin is seduced by her green tea brother-in-law everyday-Chapter 406: The old man’s will.
Jingzhe had never planned to set foot in the cold prison to visit his half brother. And yet, there he was, being given the VIP welcome by the warden himself as the man escorted him to an exclusive visiting area reserved for only the wealthy and their families.
The warden was eager to please, smiling so much that his small eyes almost disappeared completely. He personally mixed Jingzhe’s coffee and served it to him. And then he stood by his side like a waiter in a restaurant, not daring to sit down. The desperation reeked off him like a bad cologne.
It almost seemed as if he was serving the emperor himself.
Jingzhe kept his face neutral, neither smiling in approval nor giving out praise. Assistant Xu slipped the warden a bank card and pulled him aside, to share what his boss wanted to say.
Mo Liang was brought into the room with handcuffs on his hands and chains linking his feet together. One would think that they were bringing a serial killer inside. Even the guards at his side were tense and armed, looking like they were ready to take action if he behaved in any way other than expected.
Jingzhe put down the cup as Mo Liang was forced to sit on a large comfortable sofa. One of the guards butted him on the head and gave him a warning glare which said, "behave or else."
"How dare you make him sit before the guest says so?" The warden berated his men.
The prison guards grabbed Mo Liang’s arms and pulled him to his feet immediately.
The warden smiled at Jingzhe with eyes that were sparkling more than those of a dog waiting to be fed by its owner after playing at the beach side all day.
Assistant Xu wondered if the man was hoping to get another bank card out of this.
"You bastard...." Mo Liang growled out, eyes scorching Jingzhe with unseen fire.
The prison warden moved quickly and slapped Mo Liang. "How dare a crooked murderer like you call the CEO royal advisor Feng Jingzhe a bastard. Do you believe that the two of us can make your life harder in this prison?"
"So what?" Mo Liang answered, wide eyed and struggling against the hold of the guards. "I am already living in a nightmare. What can you possibly do to make it worse?"
The warden nodded his head in anger, accepting the challenge in his heart. After this visit ended, he would show Mo Liang how welcoming the prison could be. Anyway, he had crossed too many important people and they had all told him to take "good" care of Mo Liang.
It looked like the regular beatings were not enough, they needed to turn it up.
Jingzhe made a gesture,
"Why are you here?" Mo Liang asked Jingzhe. "Have you come to brag?"
Assistant Xu tossed a folder on the marble table. The warden hurried to open it as if whatever the folder contained was his personal business.
He raised three papers that were attached with special glue. "It is a will."
Jingzhe looked at Mo Liang a little curiously. "Haven’t you heard that your grandfather is dead?"
Mo Liang scoffed. "My grandfather! Have you forgotten that you are also a Mo? No matter how much you try to deny it, your blood is my blood. We are both sons of Mo...."
"Eh..." Jingzhe cut in. "I am afraid that you are wrong. My mother gave me a few blood donations while I was growing up. Mei Mei and Lady Chi gave me a serum that altered some of my genes. I am afraid that whatever part of the Mo family I had within me has been washed out."
Mo Liang laughed dryly.
Jingzhe shrugged. "As for whatever remains, I refuse to acknowledge it just as I refuse to acknowledge my ties to your rotten family. The old man seems to have seen the light at the end of the tunnel. He made me his heir. Can you believe it?"
Mo Liang’s face froze.
Jingzhe folded his right hand into a fist and placed it near his mouth, like a microphone. Then, he burst into laughter that spread the feeling of disbelief he was still reeling from.
"What are you talking about?" Mo Liang asked him. "The old man had no right to do that."
Jingzhe put his hand way and leaned forward, "He left me the house in E city and the one in Sea city. I was never acknowledged as my biological father’s son and yet the old man chose me to watch the ancestral home. I guess he thought that I would use my money to maintain it. Maybe even rebuild it. Or he thought that it would make me feel closer to all of you somehow and I would step in and rescue you from the fire pit you jumped into because of your greed."
He had pondered for one full hour about the motives of the old man after he got the will. The only conclusion he could draw was that the old man wanted to use him. Why else would he overlook his own sons and grandsons and leave the family to him?
"No way." Mo Liang bit out. "The old man made you the new patriarch of the family, isn’t that ridiculous!! After everything we all did to you, why would he make such a decision. You are one of the reasons why half of the family is in prison and the other half is living in poverty."
Jingzhe rolled his eyes. "Your delusions continue to prevail. Half of you are in prison because you committed crimes. As for the ones living in poverty, they should be blaming Mo Wenbin who they entrusted their savings with and he absconded with them.
As for being the patriarch of your family, I don’t need or want it. Whoever wants the position can take it. The old man never even thought for a moment that I would decide to burn down that ancestral home or sell it."
He leaned slowly, eyes lighting up as if he had just thought of something great. Not just great but also bad.
Opposite him, Mo Liang’s facial expression turned into one of horror. "You wouldn’t. You bastard, at least respect your ancestors. If you dare to do what you are thinking about, the heavens will punish you."
The warden slapped Mo Liang really hard, so much so that blood appeared on the corner of his mouth. Mo Liang flinched but his eyes remained on Jingzhe.
Jingzhe chuckled.
