Loved By a Vampire King-Chapter 546: Ralph In Palace

Lord Ralph stood staring at Cedric with a complicated expression. He even forgot when was the last time, he appeared in Dixon Palace. All because of his promise to Jasmine whom he gave words that he and his demon son would disappear from Cedric’s life always and forever.

But who could stop the twist of fate?

Apparently, he had to interfere in Cedric’s life for the sake of his other unfilial son, Hayden. Ralph looked away, taking a deep breath to cover his emotions. No matter what, he couldn’t let Cedric see through his affection for Jasmine. Maybe, Cedric would think her mother as an unfaithful woman which he didn’t want.

Funny, Isn’t it? He was in love with a woman for decades who never loved him back instead used his seed to give birth to an heir for her husband’s empire.

" How are you doing?", came the nervous voice from Ralph who did everything to act practical. Besides, he knew that Cedric didn’t appreciate his presence here.

Cedric snorted light, pressing his butt against the railings,

" This isn’t your question, I assume. Why are you here?"

Ralph dropped the idea of asking about his well being. Nothing could change the vision of Cedric for him. In his eyes, he was the demon king who gave her mother dark thoughts.

Ralph hung his head low, swallowed hard and spoke in a serious voice after looking up at Cedric,

" I..I came to speak.. about Hayden.."

Cedric’s eyes darkened as he grinded his teeth together to rebuke,

" You came again to save your son’s life?"

Cedric’s expression was cold like ice. He clearly remembered the night when Hayden had gone to hunt innocent underage girls to posses more powers. Things became chaotic around the kingdom because of his killings. Having no choice left, Cedric had personally gone to kill Hayden. There, he faced Ralph who pleaded him not to kill Hayden. To keep his words and people’s safety, Cedric had come up with this idea of keeping Hayden locked in coffins. He knew that sooner or later, Hayden was about to come out from there. Then, he started looking for Hayden’s death and found out that Ayra was cursed and blessed at the same time to kill Hayden after becoming his mate. Hence, Cedric made this perfect plan to kill both sides excluding the part of falling in love with this hybrid Princess. But it was true that he was attracted to her from the beginning.

Ralph shook his head ’No’, surprising Cedric with his answer and pursued his lips to speak clearly,

" No, you kept my promise once. I don’t want to burden you anymore. I came to tell you that Hayden is up to something big."

Cedric straightened his back, narrowing his eyes a bit suspiciously,

" Clear it! What do you mean?"

Ralph continued, darkening his eyes in unknown fear,

" Hayden is threatening me to turn you into a true demon, Cedric. If I am not wrong, he wants to replace your position in the Basarisk. In that way, he can get Ayra, your wife, those innocent lives of your people and also fame and reputation. That’s the reason, he isn’t after demon’s throne."

Cedric’s face darkened in rage, his eyes glaring at those memories from the distant future. Something exploded inside his thoughts whenever he imagined Ayra and Hayden together. His throat felt dry uncomfortably and he started to question whether he really fell in love with her?

Putting those jealous thoughts aside, Cedric questioned, staring at Ralph whose voice sounded caring for him,

" Why are you revealing everything, King Ralph? Isn’t he your son?"

It sounded ridiculous to Cedric who knew that Ralph had cared for Hayden all this time. Instead of brainwashing him, he was here to warn him.

For what?

Ralph dropped his eyes on the dark floor, recalling some nearly faded memories before murmuring,

" Because..I..I made a promise to give you a better life."

Cedric barely knew that his mother had made some deal with this man before. Despite everything, he was clueless to their past memories, promises or anything else. Cedric replied in a promising voice,

" I won’t let this happen. My wife will kill him before that."

Ralph nodded his head thoughtfully. He knew how courageous his wife was. It was just sad that a witch had destroyed a perfect life of her. Sighing softly, Ralph suddenly blurted, looking up at Cedric with his expectant eyes,

" Can you call me ’dad’ for once?"

Cedric was surprised and shocked at the same time. Groaning internally, he retorted back unhappily,

" Why should I call you ’dad’ when king Oscar is my father?"

Ralph’s mouth opened and closed hesitantly. His face was now covered in dark clouds as if Cedric had uttered something offensive. Letting out another heavy exhale, Ralph turned to disappear from his castle,

" Forget it..I..I was telling because you and Hayden share the same face.."

After his back was turned against Cedric, Ralph swallowed the painful lump from his throat, extending his legs to go out. Suddenly, Cedric’s voice broke in the air with curiosity,

" Wait, King Ralph! I have always wondered.. Why didn’t you turn yourself into a true demon?"

Ralph’s breath slightly hitched after his question. He did everything to carry the affection for Jasmine in his heart always. It was sweet delicious torture and painful at the same time. After meeting Jasmine, he didn’t want to become the cold, heartless true demon without any emotions. His world changed when Jasmine summoned at her darkest time on a stormy night.

But Ralph couldn’t spill the truth out. He was rather willing to be treated coldly by Cedric whenever they met rather than seeing any sort of hatred in Cedric’s eyes for Jasmine. Retracting his step back from the way, Ralph turned to stare at Cedric’s questioning eyes. His eyes flooded with emotions before muttering slowly, 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝙚𝔀𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝒐𝒎
