Loved By a Vampire King-Chapter 548: The Battle Of Feelings
The brown wolf left in happiness whilst the councilmen was awestruck by the change in his words. Until today, it never happened before that Silas had changed his mind, showing mercy to someone who committed any crime. It took no time for them to understand that it was all because of the lady standing. Thereafter, they all once again gave Isabella a long bow, stunning her again with their so-called respective manner.
Isabella stood biting her lips confusingly and watched them leave like a puppet. Once they were gone, Silas brought a chair for her, asking her in a polite voice,
" Sit! May I know why the lady suddenly gave me her precious visit?"
Amused by his words, Isabella smiled before taking the seat. As their bond became stronger than before, Isabella understood that she could say literally anything to Silas and he wouldn’t mind. Even Tiara, that tiny girl loved her company more than Silas’s. Isabella brought the attention on his face, pursuing her lips hesitantly,
" I..I have come to ask you something, Duke Silas."
Silas frowned a bit suspiciously over her words. Isabella never asked anything for her. All she wanted for the orphanage or for Tiara. Hence, Silas was confused in his mind. Silas gestured at her to speak, leaning against the chair comfortably,
" Tell me."
Like always, Silas gave full attention to her, waiting patiently for her to speak. Isabella’s lips formed into a big smile, telling in an excited voice,
" Aunty wants to marry you off soon."
Silas who stiffened in his spot looked up at Isabella in disbelief. His lips pressed too tightly, listening to the most unexpected words from her mouth. He took a deep breath to control his emotions, replied after thinking for a while,
" So, you are here to convince me?"
Undoubtedly, he could tell from the excitement in her eyes that she was happy to give him to another woman. Apparently, she didn’t care even the slightest what he felt about her. Isabella who noticed his face turning grim began to feel a little uncomfortable. 𝒻𝑟𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝑛𝘰𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝘤𝘰𝘮
Did she say something offensive?
Breaking into a nervous smile, Isabella reasoned in a calm voice, staring at his hard face,
" Yeah..I mean.. Don’t you want me to attend your wedding before I go back to the Basarisk?"
Silas bit his lips fiercely. The thought of not seeing her for an entire day was enough to drive him crazy. For months, he had been spending gold coins to buy those healers who were checking her health condition. He made sure to bribe more days with her in Richalwolf Land.
Silas began to take long breaths, blurted his words out in a breath,
" I get it. That’s the reason, you are so eager to marry me off to some women?"
Isabella was a bit uncomfortable by his consistent argument. Somehow, she felt that his tone sounded rude today not like his usual one whenever he chatted with her. Confused about what to reply, Isabella nodded her head to notice his face turning grim in a moment.
His unnatural green eyes turned darker, fury building behind it. After some moments, she heard him ask again, lowering his tone into a chilling one,
" So, it doesn’t matter to you, isn’t it?"
Suddenly, Isabella was brought back to reality. His confession of that night when Tiara was nearly abducted came across her mind. She swallowed hard to explain herself carefully,
" Silas..I just want your wellbeing.. Besides, Aunty is worried for you..Your age is obvious to having kids currently.."
Silas closed his eyes painfully. There, she was worried about his family again. She made it so clear that his choices didn’t matter to her at all.
" Get Out!", Silas growled furiously, breathing through his nose heavily. Isabella nearly jumped off her chair in fear. She was so unfamiliar with this voice of him that it took a while for her to register his behavior.
Isabella parted her lips quivering, attempted to clarify herself one more time,
" Silas...I didn’t mean anything bad... Actually aunty..."
" I said, OUT!", Silas interrupted her words in a growl, standing up in a shot to glare down at her. Isabella was so frightened that tears welled up in her eyes. She stood up to obey his order numbly and heard him growling again,
" You have no right to make a decision about my marriage. Get out, Isabella! I don’t want to see you."
Isabella choked on her voice, tears streaking down from her eyes. She didn’t expect him to act so rudely. Today, he actually proved that she was nothing but a guest in his palace. Isabella choked a few more times, hung her head low to shed some silent tears. Keeping her head bowed down, she murmured apologizing,
" I..I..am sorry..."
Almost immediately, Isabella turned and trotted outside hastily. As if Silas had been shoved back to reality, his eyes surfaced in guilt when he heard her low sobbing voice as she ran for her room. He swallowed hard and closed his eyes to mutter some curses at himself. Whirling around, his hand slammed on the desk, breaking it in a single shot.
He hurt her! But how could he tell her that he didn’t want anyone else but her? Will she ever accept his feelings?
The answer was definitely ’No’ especially after what she went through. She cared for his family and would never go against his mother’s wishes who wanted a virgin bride for him. Blowing his cheeks out heavily, Silas headed for his mother’s room and found her sitting in the hallway, smiling from ear to ear.
On his arrival, the queen lifted her head to smile at his son,
" Silas, did Isabella tell you something?"
Silas swallowed his saliva thickly. After recalling the series of incidents in his mind whenever Isabella put a blind eye on his feelings, Silas blurted through his gritted teeth,
" Mother, I want to get married. You can choose the bride for me."
