Loved By a Vampire King-Chapter 581: Who got this?
When Jessie kept flying down from the mountain top, her dragon instinct reacted naturally. When she expected a terrible fall, suddenly her poor body transformed into a giant, big dragon, letting out an earth shattering scream. The flapping of her wings became so harsh that even the angry Chitah caught a sight of her. He was shocked as well as their kingdom didn’t had much dragon shifters.
Jessie’s dragon self became mad for being attacked. Subconsciously, it envisioned the Chitah as her enemy and spitted the fire from her mouth. Before the chitah could block the fire, it started burning his body. It let out a horrified growl and started running around to be safe from the burning fire.
The following moment, her body fell down in slack, shifting back to its normal state. Thankfully, she landed down away from the mountain with bruises and red marks all over her body. In distant, she could hear the pathetic cries of that raged animal. But Jessie could hardly care since Shanz needed the herbs as soon as possible.
After pushing herself up from the ground weakly, she stumbled her way back to the castle somehow, not knowing what mistake she had done in the mountain.
When Jessie returned to the castle, Kenneth didn’t leave yet. In fact, she planned to stay overnight until Shanz came back to her sense. When the butler saw Jessie entering in a blood covered body, he dashed forward to help her, his voice sounding worry,
" Princess...how did you get so much bruises? Did you.. really..."
He couldn’t utter the rest of his words in shock and disbelief. Maybe it was his first time hearing that someone actually managed to steal the herbs from the forbidden land. In recent years, the number of creatures died in that mountain was probably uncountable.
Jessie’s body was feeling weak gradually. The fight and unexpected transformations took away a lot of her strength. Panting for air weakly, she dropped the herbs in the butler’s hand, mumbled weakly,
" Give..it to him..Now..."
Before she could say something more, her body fell down on the floor, turning unconscious in no moment. The butler cried out in shock,
" PRINCESS!!!"
He gestured at the maids who quickly stepped forward to carry up Jessie. After all, the special relationship between this princess and their master was an open secret now. Moved by her courage, the Butler ordered the maids,
" Watch over her and bring the Healer. She should be fine."
Kenneth who was standing a few feet away observed the entire situation and didn’t look well. No matter how many nights she stayed next to Shanz, it was obvious that Shanz will be moved if he heard what Jessie had went through in order to keep him safe. She would have no chance almost.
Giving it a thought for a while, Kenneth walked over the butler gracefully and asked with a smile,
" Give the herb to me and take care of that girl. Since she is a guest here, it’s our responsibility to treat her well." 𝕗𝐫𝐞𝕖𝕨𝐞𝗯𝚗𝕠𝘃𝐞𝚕.𝐜𝗼𝚖
The butler tightened his brows at Kennet. She was sounding like she was the family here whilst Jessie was an outsider. Nevertheless of that, her attitude changed so fast. A while back, she was confronting Jessie rudely. The butler had his hesitation but Jessie didn’t give him any chance to think more. In a snap of moment, she snatched the herbs right from the butler’s hand and spoke with a smile,
" That’s it! I will make a liquor for Shanz with this well. You don’t have to worry."
When Shanz finally woke up from his trance, it was half past two at night. His groggy eyes snapped around the room to find the expected person but he saw the most unexpected person by his bedside, Kenneth. Kenneth stumbled at his way anxiously, showing off an expression of excitement and relief,
" My king! You are finally awake. Thanks to the heavens."
Letting out a low groan, Shanz sat up, leaning against the head post of the bed weakly. Holding the back of his head, he questioned a little unhappily,
" What are you doing here, Kenneth?"
Kenneth bit her lips hard to think that he didn’t appreciate her stay here. Forcing a smile on her face, she replied mumbling,
" Of course, I will. You are sick, my king. I should be here right next to you."
Shanz secretly rolled his eyes at her. He would never get over the fact how shameless this woman could be. Letting out a soft sigh, he thanked her politely,
" Thank you for your concern, Kenneth."
Kenneth’s face immediately bloomed into a big smile. Grabbing the liquor that she asked the maid to prepare, she picked up a spoon to feed Shanz,
" Drink this one, my king. It will help you to heal faster."
Shanz took the liquor almost absentmindedly, thinking about why Jessie didn’t appear here yet. Didn’t she feel sorry for him? Didn’t she feel worried about him? Was she really glad to stab him and never forgive him?
As all these questions crossed his mind, Shanz took the sip from Kenneth’s hand and only to be frozen when the liquor went down to her stomach. Surprised, Shanz looked back at the herbal liquor then Kenneth who was looking absolutely innocent. Shanz blurted out in disbelief,
" This herb..from where did you get it? Isn’t it born in restricted land? Who got this here so fast?"
Kenneth’s face deadpanned to see the way Shanz reacted. She thought that he would be overwhelmed to see how she was staying next to him to take care of him. However, he sounded more concerned about the herbs. Pondering for a while, Kenneth looked back first to see no one around. Pursuing her lips tightly together, she replied in a shy voice, looking innocent,
" Of course, I got this herb for you. Who else will go to get the herb for you if it’s not me, my king?"
