Loving The Cursed Werewolf King-Chapter 309: Priest Khan
"This is my chance to ask Priest Elis," she muttered to herself.
Yesterday was a busy day for everyone, including Priest Elis. Therefore, Arielle hadn’t had a single chance to talk about this to the priest regarding what happened to her body when it came into contact with the fire.
Arielle returned to her room to play with Crimson and Sasha. After a few hours together, the baby fell back asleep after several times of crying and laughing. While Crimson was asleep, Arielle and Sasha spent their time reading books while drinking tea.
"You’re really good at reading, Sasha," said Arielle, making the boy blush.
"But, I am not that fluent. At the orphanage, we get reading and arithmetic lessons every two weeks," replied Sasha shyly. He felt that his reading skills weren’t that good to get a compliment.
"But you’re still learning. I’ve only been able to learn how to read in the last month," said Arielle.
Sasha understood the condition of the princess. Maybe, back then, when he didn’t understand what treatment Arielle got while she was in the South, he would have been confused why there was a princess who couldn’t read.
However, after seeing it in person, Sasha knew that the princess’s family didn’t care about Arielle’s existence at all. They didn’t even care about Arielle’s condition, let alone giving her a proper education.
"I might just read a book or two. I don’t really enjoy reading because it’s so boring. I prefer to train my swordsmanship," said Sasha vehemently.
Arielle chuckled at Sasha’s bravery.
"You are the bravest child I have ever met. Is there anything you fear in this world?" asked Arielle curiously.
Sasha puffed out his chest and patted it a few times. "There is nothing in this world that I fear, even His Majesty King Ronan. I will become the greatest knight in the entire Forsham continent!
"Sounds really cool," said Arielle, making Sasha’s confidence go up. "But Lord Kael, the First Commander of the Northendell’s Knights, who is also the greatest knight, often reads books in his spare time. I’ve met him a few times while borrowing books from the library."
Sasha suddenly frowned disapprovingly.
"I think that even though being the greatest knight requires hard training, a knight shouldn’t forget to study either. Don’t knights also have to study a lot of books about tactics in a battle?" asked Arielle, making Sasha lay down on the table limply.
In front of him was a book of fairy tales that he had been trying to read, but still, it was so boring. Sasha became astonished. How could the princess survive sitting for a long time just to see those lines?
Sasha could never imagine himself reading so many books. He was the adventurous type, not the student type. Learning from the experience was much more enjoyable than reading a book.
Arielle chuckled softly seeing Sasha, who looked lazy to open the book again. She opened her book again to pass the time, waiting for lunchtime. Not long after, Arielle heard the sound of snoring. She turned to the side and found Sasha sleeping on his open book.
***
Arielle came to visit the cathedral. She met the one who was assigned to pick her up. In the cathedral, she was invited to visit the great hall where a giant globe was placed in the center of the hall.
Arielle was a little confused because normally if she wanted to talk to Priest Elis, Priest Elis would call her to his office. This was the third time she had entered this place.
Arielle was always amazed to see the greatness of the globe in front of her. Its enormous size was almost as big as twenty outstretched adults’ hands, or maybe more?
In addition to its size, Arielle could see several small lights burning throughout the Northendell kingdom, which looked white compared to the other kingdoms. Arielle still remembered what Ronan told her about those lights, it showed some of the priests’ mana who were active.
Apart from Northendell, there were plenty of lights in Thebis too, though not as much as Northendell. In Wolgast, it was much rarer but still existed. Whereas in Nieverdell, they didn’t have a priest whose mana power was active.
"Over here, Princess," said Namina.
Arielle followed the boy and went upstairs to the second floor, where there was a room crowded with several people with various types of clothes. Two of them were dressed very differently. The two brown-skinned men wore turbans over their heads.
"Welcome, Your Highness," said Priest Elis, inviting Arielle to sit on the large chair that Ronan usually used when they had meetings. "Your Highness, I’m sorry, it was really rude of me to call you to pay a visit to the cathedral."
"It’s fine, Priest Elis. I have a lot of free time today."
The man smiled solemnly and stood beside Arielle.
"Princess, let me introduce you... this is Priest Khan, a priest from Thebis."
"Greetings, Your Highness. It’s an honor to meet you in person. May you always be blessed," said a brown-skinned man in the turban.
"Nice to meet you too, Priest Khan," replied Arielle, greeting Priest Khan cordially.
After the two exchanged greetings, Priest Elis grabbed a chair beside the princess and sat there.
"Your Highness, my purpose in inviting you is to introduce you to the High Priest of Thebis, Priest Aarav Khan. Yesterday, he was one of the people who visited the great hall to meet His Majesty the King in person."
Arielle listened attentively. She still couldn’t grasp the purpose of Priest Elis calling her to this place.
"Princess, do you still remember when I suddenly felt a great power in my body the first I came into contact with you, but when I checked, the power had disappeared?"
"Yes, I remembered it."
"Since then, in my spare time, I did a lot of research on the anomaly, and it was a dead end. As Priest Khan happened to visit Northendell, then by His Majesty the King’s permission, may I check it one more time with the help of Priest Khan?’ asked Priest Elis politely.
"Sure, Priest Elis. What can I do to help you?" asked Arielle, who became very enthusiastic.
She always liked science related to mana. Ever since she could read, Arielle had always borrowed books related to mana power from the library. Earlier, while spending her free time with Sasha, she continued reading about mana in Priestess Unor’s journal.
"Thank you for the opportunity, Princess," said Priest Khan, who then stood beside Arielle. "If you wish, could you hold my hand?"
Arielle looked at Priest Khan’s outstretched hand. She gently placed her hand on Priest Khan’s palm. Meanwhile, Priest Elis also stood, stretching out his hand to her.
"Me too, Your Highness," he asked.
Arielle grabbed both of their hands. Priestess Elis and Priest Khan moved their other hands to assist the mana trigrams in their hands that were clasping on Arielle’s hands.
A dazzling light slowly emitted from Arielle’s body. Everyone in the room stood in shock at what had happened.
Arielle’s body felt lighter. Her vision was getting blurred, and she saw her surroundings turning white. She could feel a gust of wind that blew through her body even though she was in a closed room. 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝙚𝔀𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝒐𝒎
What’s more, her body which felt cold slowly warmed up. Arielle didn’t know what was happening because her entire vision turned white.
BRUK!!!
"Princess!" someone shouted.
