Chapter 337: Arielle Visiting Priest Elis

After telling everything that happened to Tania, Arielle decided to meet Priest Elis. She prepared herself to apologize for her childish behavior a few days ago and humbly asked Priest Elis to treat her like the usual. She also wanted to learn various things from that man later.

The atmosphere of the cathedral was quite different from her last visit. She couldn’t describe the stares of the priests she passed by. A few days ago, they had always smiled kindly at her. But now... there was an awkward distance that Arielle couldn’t explain.

She came to visit Priest Elis’ office, and luckily he was in his office. Priest Elis was surprised at the presence of the princess. He remembered the king’s order to act normal to the princess so as not to make her feel awkward.

"Ah, welcome, Princess. Is there anything I can help you with?" asked Priest Elis, who was as friendly as ever.

Arielle was quite surprised because she remembered how Priest Elis kneeled in front of her. Thus, it made her relieved that at least she could act casual now.

"Priest Elis, I want to discuss a few things with you."

"With pleasure, Your Highness. Please come in," Priest Elis invited Arielle to enter his office.

Arielle walked to his room, then sat down on the guest couch as usual. Without her asking for it, Priest Elis prepared tea for her.

"Want some tea, Your Highness?"

"Yes, thank you," Arielle replied briefly

Priest Elis poured a clear yellowish liquid into a new porcelain teacup. As the liquid was poured, steam puffed out, showing that the tea was still hot. Priest Elis gave the teacup to Arielle.

"Thank you," said the girl once again, to which Priest Elis replied with a friendly smile.

The man then sat in front of Arielle, waiting for the princess to state the purpose of her arrival at his office.

Arielle took a sip of her tea slowly, then lowered it back to the table.

"Um... Priest Elis," she called hesitantly.

"Yes, Your Highness?"

"Before we talk, I would like to apologize for my exaggeration a few days ago."

Priest Elis nodded, still smiling. Arielle waited for the man to reply, but it seemed that Priest Elis wanted Arielle to finish her sentence first. The girl smiled faintly.

Priest Elis was a good person. The man wholeheartedly listened to the other person’s words first, without interrupting her. Arielle felt appreciated while talking to the man.

"And, I... decide to learn about my power with you at a later date, but.... I beg you to treat me like any of your other apprentices. I don’t want to be treated differently because I have different powers from the priest apprentices here or because... I am His Majesty’s fiancé."

Priest Elis nodded in understanding.

"And... Priest Elis. As you know, I’m not yet fully proficient in studying. So maybe my learning speed will take longer than your other students. However, I promise to catch up and try my best not to fall too far behind," Arielle added.

Arielle thought those were the main points she wanted to talk about with him. "Then what do you think, Priest?" Arielle asked politely.

Priest Elis put down his teacup. "First, I also apologize for my exaggeration. I had made you feel uncomfortable, Princess. At the time, I was so shocked that I didn’t even consider how you feel. And after I reflected on it, I knew I was wrong. I should have talked about it nicely without panicking you."

"I’ve been looking into this, and I’m sorry. To be honest, I still think you are one of the Children of Moon Goddess who most likely has the potential to help Northendell melt this eternal snow," Priest Elis said in a gentle tone. He was afraid of hurting Arielle’s feelings again.

"I understand, Priest Elis. I’ve also met your father and... I will no longer run away like before. Priest Louise also said the same thing. And, if that’s the case, I’d be happy to do it. However, if in the future... my power is proven useless and it cannot melt the eternal snow of Northendell, I apologize."

"No-no, Your Highness! You can’t talk like that! Whatever the outcome, I’m sure no one will blame you. Your will to learn and your intention to help us is a great honor for Northendell itself," replied Priest Elis, who didn’t want the princess to lose her confidence again.

Arielle was silent for a moment. "Thank you," she replied, touched by Priest Elis’ sincerity.

"As you know, Northendell has always worshipped the Moon Goddess. So, when we meet the reincarnation of the part of Moon Goddess, it’s like a great miracle for us. I really admire you, Princess."

Arielle’s face blushed a little, then she took a sip of her tea to hide her embarrassment.

"However, I fully understand your condition. And I will help you to embrace your own power," Priest Elis replied with a smile, making Arielle smile too. "I promise I will try my hardest too to be a wonderful teacher for you in the future."

From where he sat, Pries Elis bowed respectfully while his hands folded on his knees. "Thank you for your kindness, Your Highness."

Arielle hurriedly did the same. She bowed respectfully to Priest Elis. "I also thank you for your kindness, Priest Elis. Please help me in the future."

"With pleasure, Your Highness."

"Oh, there’s one more thing, Priest Elis. This is about my body, which is resistant to fire," said Arielle, making Priest Elis straighten up his back instantly.

"Pardon? What do you mean, Princess?"

Arielle folded the sleeves of her dress and walked toward the fireplace. Then she stretched out her hand, making Priest Elis choke on his own saliva. The surprised reaction was almost the same as the one Ronan and Priest Louise showed.

"How could that be!?" Priest Elis asked frantically.

Priest Louise was right. Priest Elis and Priest Khan thought Arielle could only amplify mana power.

Instantly, Priest Elis remembered the scientific journal from Priestess Unor about a mysterious man who could absorb fire into his body. Somehow, he could relate it to the eternal flame in Thebis.

Arielle lowered her sleeve again, then sat back in her original place. Priest Elis stepped forward a little and stretched out his hand.

"Your Highness, may I see your hand?" he asked.

"Of course."
