Chapter 338: Chaos in Ronan’s Study

Arielle stretched out her hand and there wasn’t a single blister, although Arielle put her hand directly on the fire. Even the red marks from being exposed to heat couldn’t be found on her skin.

"His Majesty and Priest Louise already know about this, and they decided to hide this from Priest Khan."

Priest Elis nodded in understanding. After talking with Priest Khan, the man turned out to be a priest with a belief that the eternal flame in Thebis was a curse.

During his stay in the Cathedral and mingling with the Pyromians, Priest Khan secretly sought the existence of a person who had the power to amplify the power of other priests.

His purpose was to increase the mana power of the priests and strengthen them to pass the ritual before sending them to extinguish the eternal flame.

However, if the man knew about Arielle’s power, Priest Khan would find a way to get her to come with him. He would definitely use her power to extinguish the eternal flame. Priest Elis agreed with the king’s decision to hide the fact that Princess Arielle had fire-resistant power.

"Then I have to prepare myself better," Priest Elis said with a smile to lighten the mood.

"Is it difficult to control the fire?" Arielle asked.

"Difficult? Um... It’s my first time teaching someone to learn about fire. Maybe I’ll use two mana at once, like light and heat, and set it to fire. As I once showed you how to light a fire on wood."

"Oh, I remember."

Priest Elis nodded. "But what I did and what you will do later is... different. You don’t do it the way I do. You can learn with the fire element right away," he replied."

Arielle just nodded her head. She would understand it later. After stating everything that needed to be said, Arielle bid her goodbye and left the room. Priest Elis kindly escorted Arielle back to the front of the Cathedral.

When Arielle left the Cathedral, Lucas approached her breathlessly.

"Princess! Princess!" he called from a distance.

Arielle also rushed to the man. "What’s wrong Lucas? Why are you running around like this?" Arielle asked frantically.

"Help me! Sasha and Crimson were crying in His Majesty’s office. And everything got messed up."

Without waiting for Lucas’ explanation, Arielle rushed to Ronan’s office. From a distance in the hallway leading to the room, Arielle could hear Sasha’s crying voice accompanied by a loud whimper of Crimson. She turned to Lucas and the man just gave him a panicked look.

Arielle arrived at Ronan’s room. The room looked very chaotic with Crimson’s whimpers as well as Sasha’s. Several small vases were broken and shattered on the floor. Crimson was crying loudly on the table, and there was no one who comforted the baby.

Meanwhile, Lazarus was lying on the couch in a half-conscious state. Then, there was Priest Jill, who was trying to approach the wailing Sasha in the corner of the room. And... Ronan sat in his chair as usual.

His body looked tense with his hands clenched tightly. Beside him stood Kael, who was trying to calm him down. What a chaotic situation.

"What happened?" Arielle asked, then everyone in the room turned their heads towards her.

Lazarus lifted his head, holding back his tears. Arielle did not see the scar on the man’s face. Then Sasha, who was crying in the corner of the room, ran to Arielle.

"Your Highness!" his whining looked very pitiful.

Arielle knelt down to hug the child. She patted Sasha’s head several times, trying to calm him to stop crying.

"What’s wrong, Sasha?" Arielle asked softly.

"Sob... His Majesty the King... sob... said... that I was Lazarus’ child. Huwaa!!! I don’t want that! I don’t want to be that man’s child!!! I’m not Lazarus’ son!!!" Sasha screamed, making Arielle have to jolt her head back a little because she was surprised by Sasha’s loud scream near her ear.

"I. Did. Not. Say. That," Ronan stressed out his words with an annoyed expression.

Priest Jill looked frightened in the corner of the room. He approached hesitantly.

"I-it seems there was a misunderstanding between me and Sasha, Your Highness," said the man nervously. "I was ordered to ask for a sample of Lord Lazarus and Crimson’s hair."

"It’s all right, Priest Jill. You’ve done your job well."

"Then why is Sasha crying?" Arielle was still calming Sasha, who hugged her neck tightly.

"Th-that... because I told him about... Sasha and Crimson’s resemblance. Sorry, I shouldn’t have said such presumptuousness."

"And I ordered Priest Jill to take a sample of Sasha’s hair too," Ronan continued. He was still annoyed and his annoyance was increased seeing Sasha clung to Arielle.

"Your Highness! Isn’t that the same as they want to prove that I am Lazarus’ child?! I don’t want to! I don’t want to! No way!!!" Sasha protested insistently that his resemblance to Crimson was just a coincidence, as Arielle said.

He didn’t want to have a father, especially a father like Lazarus, who he deemed as trash.

"I don’t want to have a father like Lazarus! Just kill me!!!" The boy kept wailing.

Arielle smiled at Sasha’s exaggeration.

The offended Lazarus stood up and shouted at Sasha.

"You think I want to have a son like you?!" he shouted, clutching the back of his neck in tension. "Give me a break!"

Sasha narrowed his eyes.

"You are the worst human I have ever met!!!!" Sasha shouted back.

"SILENCE!" Ronan shouted, cutting off the deafening screams between Sasha and Lazarus. Both of them were instantly silenced by the king’s loud voice, yet Crimson was still whining in her place.

Arielle stroked Sasha’s head several times. "It’s okay. If you don’t want it, then there’s no need to do it," Arielle said, stretching out her hand to Priest Jill after stealing a strand of Sasha’s hair.

Priest Jill took it right away and placed it in a small white handkerchief.

"Now, let’s sit quietly. We have to calm Crimson first." Arielle said. She stood up and led Sasha to sit on the couch opposite Lazarus. The boy looked away when his eyes met with Lazarus’, and Lazarus did the same thing.
