Loving The Cursed Werewolf King-Chapter 339: Arielle Wins the Argumen
Arielle lifted Crimson from the table, then carried the baby in her arms gently. The child’s cries did not immediately stop. Arielle tried to make the little baby stop crying by patting her back. She could see Crimson face and eyes were red after crying so much.
The girl nodded as Priest Jill excused himself to leave the room. Ronan could only breathe a sigh of relief when Crimson’s cries started to get smaller, and smaller, then disappeared completely. Still in a standing position, Arielle approached Kael.
"What happened? Why did it get this messy?" she asked in a half-whisper so as not to disturb Crimson.
"As you saw earlier, Your Highness. Sasha and Lazarus were arguing, and then..." Kael glanced at Ronan, who was massaging his temple. "His Majesty continued to enforce his will by threatening Priest Jill to take a sample of Sasha’s hair immediately."
"What are you two talking about?" Ronan asked, and Arielle just replied with a subtle smile, then asked Kael again. 𝘧𝓇ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝘣𝓃ℴ𝓋𝑒𝑙.𝑐𝘰𝑚
"Then why are there so many broken things?"
"Sasha refused to have his hair taken as a sample, and His Majesty continued to pressure Priest Jill not to let Sasha leave this room before Priest Jill managed to take the sample. And Sasha kept dodging by... throwing this and that to his heart’s content."
"What about Lazarus? Why did he seem down?"
"Because not a single one of us believed his words. He strongly rejected Crimson and Sasha as his children. As you know, Lazarus is also mentally immature, and this is making him depressed."
Arielle looked at Lazarus with a dejected look. That was right. No one really knew what happened other than Lazarus and the woman who left Crimson a few days ago.
If Lazarus wasn’t Crimson’s father, then Arielle would apologize to him. However, if Lazarus was proven to be Crimson’s father, then Arielle would be very disappointed because of his vehement refusal.
Then about Crimson and Sasha... Arielle would also apologize to Sasha for hurting the boy’s feelings by suspecting without any solid evidence.
Arielle turned to Ronan, who was resting his face on one of his palms on the table while Arielle and Kael were talking. The girl smiled faintly, and Ronan sighed. He told Kael to get Lazarus and Sasha out of his room.
"I have to make decisions. And seeing their faces makes my day worse."
Kael nodded in understanding. He then patted Lazarus on the shoulder to stand up. So was Sasha. They were still hostile toward each other. As the two stood at the same time, they shot a glare at one another.
Arielle wanted to chime in, but Kael turned around and bowed respectfully to Arielle and Ronan. "Let me take care of them, Your Majesty."
Ronan waved his hand, signaling Kael to leave his room right away.
Kael turned around, asking Lazarus and Sasha to move their ass out of the room. However, their feet stuck to the ground. The two of them didn’t move at all.
They were busy threatening each other through their sharp gazes. Kael finally got annoyed, and grabbed the two by the collar, dragging them without listening to Lazarus or Sasha’s protests.
"Please don’t be so rude, Lord Kael," Arielle said. However, the man didn’t hear it.
The door was closed again, leaving Ronan, who finally let out a sigh of relief. Arielle saw Crimson sleeping in her arms.
"Ronan, you shouldn’t have threatened Priest Jill as you did before," Arielle said, making the man chuckle in annoyance.
Ronan took off his mask and placed it on the table.
"I just want it to end quickly so I can do other things."
"Using violence will not solve the problem, and that is not good. Look at this room now. You could talk about it nicely."
Ronan didn’t answer. He rubbed his tired face. Arielle approached the man, and Ronan hugged the girl’s waist tightly. He buried his face in the girl’s stomach.
"Now you can rest for a bit," she said.
"But I have to work again."
"Just thirty minutes, Ronan," the girl said.
"Are your arms not tired of holding the baby since earlier?"
Arielle turned to Crimson, then a subtle smile appeared on her lips.
"Do you want to carry her?" asked Arielle who was rejected by the man right away.
"No," he shook his head vigorously.
"Try it for a minute. You can hold Crimson like when you help her burp."
"I don’t want to. No, thank you," Ronan refused again.
Arielle stared at the man who refused to carry Crimson like Sasha, who rejected the possibility that he was Lazarus’ child.
Arielle moved her shoulders while putting on a pitiful face. "My arms are so tired. But if I put her back, Crimson will definitely wake up again," she said in a dejected tone.
Ronan looked up from the paper he was reading. Then, the man put the paper back down in annoyance.
"You did it on purpose, didn’t you, Arielle?"
Arielle blinked a few times while putting on a clueless face. "I don’t understand what you mean."
The man was silent for a moment, then stood up.
"You won. I’ll hold her for a bit."
A cheerful smile grew on Arielle’s face. She put Crimson’s small body in front of the man’s chest and positioned Ronan’s hand properly. After Ronan carried Crimson in a comfortable position, Arielle gently pulled Ronan’s hand to come with her.
Arielle sat on the edge of the couch, then asked the man to sit beside her.
"What is it?" Ronan asked suspiciously.
"Lie down for a while," Arielle said, patting her thighs several times.
Ronen held Crimson’s body and head with his hands, and he rested his head on Arielle’s thighs. "Well, that’s fair enough," he replied, making Arielle smile.
Crimson was sleeping on Ronan’s chest. Her little mouth sucking on one of the buttons of the man’s clothes. Arielle and Ronan watched her intently.
"How can there be something this stupid?" he muttered as he gently patted Crimson’s back.
"What did you say?" asked Arielle, who didn’t understand why Ronan called Crimson stupid.
"Look, she eats my buttons like food. And she didn’t even listen to my order to be quiet."
Arielle ran her fingers through Ronan’s hair. "She’s still a baby, Ronan. Of course, she cannot understand your words. A baby cannot talk like us, and one way to express her feelings is only by whining."
Ronan just listened. Deep down, he admitted Arielle would become a perfect mother figure. Ronan could imagine if they had children, the girl would love them very much. Then, they could spend time like this together.
