Arielle smiled. If that happened, then Sasha would be very happy.

"But Sasha doesn’t seem to enjoy studying that much," Arielle replied, remembering how lazy Sasha would be when the two of them were reading books together. The boy would choose to sleep rather than accompany her to study.

"It can’t be like that. Sasha must keep studying to be a knight. Knights don’t just have fighting abilities. He also has to understand several other aspects to adjust what decisions he will take on the battlefield later. If you just learn to fight, then it’s the same as being a sword that can only slash without thinking."

Arielle understood it. "If Sasha comes back with Viscount Ferdi, we can give the gift before the kid leaves the palace. As our farewell gift."

"Are we not going to see Sasha again?" Arielle asked frantically.

"I can understand your sadness, Arielle."

"If you are still sad, you can sleep in my room tonight. I can make you not sad anymore," Ronan whispered in Arielle’s ear, making the girl cover her sensitive ears.

Arielle did not answer the man’s temptation.

There was a knock on Ronan’s office, and Lazarus delivered the news that Sasha and his family had finished talking. Arielle got down from the man’s lap and gave Ronan his mask, so that the man would immediately put it on.

Then, Kael and Lazarus brought in Viscount Ferdi and his family. Crimson was no longer in Tania’s arms, but in Cathy’s arms. Sasha was still keeping his distance from his father. The boy avoided Arielle’s eyes.

"Your Majesty, once again, I apologize for this foolishness of mine. I promise to take good care of my children and give them all the love they can’t get all these years. I’m not a good father, but I promise I will try my best to make my family happy," said Viscount Ferdi, bowing his head with Cathy beside him. Next to him, Sasha stood still.

Ronan turned to Sasha. "How’s Sasha? What would you do?"

"I... will go with Viscount Ferdi," he replied briefly.

Arielle bit her lip to withhold her emotions. She had already thought that this was for Sasha’s sake. She couldn’t show a dejected look.

"In that case, Viscount Ferdi, you can return to your residence first, but you can pick up Sasha tomorrow. Tonight, Sasha will be at the palace first," Ronan said, making Sasha turn his face for the first time toward the king.

Viscount Ferdi looked confused, so did Lazarus and Kael.

"Why, Your Majesty? Can’t Sasha come back with us now?" Viscount Ferdi asked.

Ronan didn’t reply right away. The room became silent. "We want to let our friend go in the right way."

Sasha’s face was red with his mouth slightly open. He was very surprised by the king’s words... who considered him... as a friend?

Sasha ran to Arielle and hugged the girl while crying loudly. Viscount Ferdi was surprised again, but he couldn’t say anything. Sasha was indeed his son, but for the past ten years, he wasn’t on Sasha’s side.

He had no right to force the boy to get back with him right away. Viscount Ferdi didn’t know how Sasha’s story was until the boy got to the palace and became a friend of the king.

Viscount Ferdi nodded in understanding. He would give Sasha a chance to spend time with his friends. After that, he would have plenty of time to get to know the boy slowly.

Viscount Ferdi asked Cathy to return home with their baby. He didn’t have a name for his daughter yet. However, he had heard that people called his baby Crimson.

Seeing the baby in Cathy’s arms made Viscount Ferdi’s heart tremble. Her red hair was exactly the same as his as well as the mole on her cheek. Without needing a DNA test, he was sure the baby was his child.

The man embraced Cathy gently.

"I’m sorry..." Cathy kept repeating the words sorry. The woman was very sorry and embarrassed, but Viscount Ferdi loved Cathy just the way she was. He couldn’t blame Cathy because he knew how much his family hated Cathy.

"It’s fine. We still have plenty of time to fix it. You’ll be my wife soon," said Viscount Ferdi, calming Cathy down.

Arielle had no schedule that afternoon. She used the rest of the day to prepare a party for Sasha. Ronan had given her permission to use the hall for Sasha’s farewell party. Sasha also helped Arielle bake cake with Tania and the palace chefs.

Ronan, William, Kael, and Lazarus had a meeting in Ronan’s office.

"So Sasha is really going with Viscount Verdi?" he asked.

William frowned, remembering Sasha’s bright face.

"But why does he look so happy? I think that child will cry and wail until tomorrow," he said, making Lazarus laugh.

"That’s what a child is like. Not long ago he was still crying in Arielle’s arms and a second later, when we mentioned a party, his face turned bright again," Lazarus replied, making William laugh too.

Ronan raised his hand to stop Lazarus and William’s conversation. "I gathered you here to tell you that you must prepare a farewell gift for the boy."

"A farewell gift?"

Ronan nodded. "Yes, so the boy will remember all of you. That’s what Arielle said."

"Sasha won’t come back for a visit? Even for a cup of tea? Or maybe at your wedding?"

"I will invite him for our wedding day later. And I also allowed Arielle to invite Sasha whenever shel wanted. It’s just that next year Sasha will enroll in the academy. As you know, in the first two years, he will be very busy. It will be difficult for that kid to visit the palace again."

Kael nodded in agreement.
