Loving The Cursed Werewolf King-Chapter 360: Ronan Has A Fever
Arielle wiped the rest of her tears. She felt depressed when she thought Ronan was avoiding her because she had made a mistake. And now... she was also sad because he was not honest about his condition.
It never crossed her mind that Ronan was sick. The night before Sasha’s leaving for the palace, when Ronan came to her room, she knew his body were warmer than usual. However, Arielle thought maybe it was because Ronan was feeling hot.
William also said that Ronan had never gotten sick, yet Ronan had a flu at a very unexpected time right now.
Arielle didn’t know what made him sick. He always said that even if he didn’t sleep for days, his body still felt fit. And now Arielle just realized that Ronan had never really rested properly. Even during their short trip outside the palace, the man still did his work while Arielle was sleeping.
There were two days left before the full moon, and Arielle hoped Ronan could rest properly now. Not just laid down his body on the bed.
Arielle tried to remember what Tania did to her when she caught a cold. She remembered how her body would feel ache and weak whenever she had the flu. Sometimes it came with a fever. It was very uncomfortable. And maybe Ronan already felt the same way but didn’t want to say it.
Maybe he think, if he admitted it, he would look weak.
"Do you have a fever too?" Arielle asked.
"Yes, yesterday I had a fever. Now it’s getting better."
Arielle wanted to touch Ronan’s forehead to make sure his temperature wasn’t too high.
"Can I touch you?" Arielle asked, asking permission to come closer.
Ronan felt his face grow hotter. Either because of a fever or Arielle’s question, which he misunderstood the meaning of it.
"Can we do it when I have recovered?"
Arielle raised her eyebrow, look confused. "Ronan, that’s not it. I just wanted to check your temperature, so I will know what to do next."
Arielle was quite surprised that Ronan still thought about something like that. For God’s sake, he was sick!
"Ah, I was thinking about something else. Then, wait a moment."
Ronan disappeared behind his changing room, then he came back with a small cloth and gloves. Ronan came closer and tied the small cloth behind Arielle’s head to make a mask. He also put the gloves on the girl’s hands.
"At least this way, I’m not too worried that you might catch my cold."
Ronan hugged Arielle, and the girl could feel Ronan’s body was burning. His temperature was not warm but hot. Ronan sighed in relief that he could hug Arielle again. The girl’s body felt so fresh against his body, and he felt his fever was starting to go down.
"Your fever is high," Arielle said, hugging the man’s back.
"The doctor said the same thing. It’s okay, a priest had helped me to lower my temperature earlier, so I’m feeling better now."
"I’m worried. Your body temperature is still high."
"You don’t have to worry, Sweetheart. I can get through this. Tomorrow, I will get back to work. Even these two days I could still do my activities as usual. This fever and flu didn’t bother me at all," Ronan replied, making Arielle sigh.
"Ronan, stop being so stubborn. Please take care of your body. Your body needs to rest. Take two days off at least. I don’t want you to get sicker when you force yourself."
Arielle let go of his embrace and pulled Ronan’s hand to join her in the bed.
"For the past two days, I have been thinking bad about you. I thought you avoided me out of anger. I was worried I did something that made you angry."
"That will never happen, Arielle. You’re exaggerating-"
"But you avoided me!" Arielle replied subconsciously, raising her voice.
Ronan immediately embraced Arielle. He knew his mistake. Seeing Arielle like this made him feel very guilty. He didn’t mean to make her feel uneasy like this.
Of all people, Ronan should know better that Arielle had a terrible experience with her family. He chose the wrong option, although it was for the girl’s sake. Ronan didn’t want her to get infected by his flu.
"I’m sorry, Arielle. I really didn’t mean to make you worry like this. I thought if you found out that I was sick, you would get more worried."
"Ronan, is it wrong for me to get worried? I will become your wife, right? We’re going to be a family. Shouldn’t families take care of each other when one of them is sick?"
Ronan buried his face in Arielle’s shoulder, and he nodded. He really loved Arielle. Ronan wanted to kiss her, but he held himself. Two days of not meeting her was very tortuous.
Every time he saw Arielle’s silhouette from a distance, his hands reached out to hug the girl tightly like this. Now, when Arielle was in his arms, he felt like all the burden and pain in his body disappeared.
"Then, will you spend the night with me? I just want you to take care of me."
"Sure, didn’t I say that earlier?"
Ronan smiled faintly. He straightened his back and cupped both sides of Arielle’s face, which was hidden behind the cloth mask.
"Don’t take this cloth off, do you understand?"
Arielle nodded. Ronan kissed the girl’s forehead briefly. "I love you."
"Me too. I love you, Ronan," replied Arielle.

After lying down on the bed, Ronan waited for Arielle to join him. She was fixing the cloth on her face.
"What did the doctor say before?" Arielle asked while crawling on the bed, and Ronan moved closer to rest his head on the girl’s lap.
"He told me to take the medicine every few hours, and a priest came to lower my temperature so it doesn’t get too high."
Arielle took off her gloves and touched the man’s forehead. He was still burning.
"Seriously..."
Arielle couldn’t believe she could meet someone as stubborn as him. For normal humans, this fever might have been fatal, but Ronan still forced himself to continue working.
"As a king, I hate looking weak in front of people."
"I know, but at least rest well."
Ronan buried his face in Arielle’s lap. "Well, maybe I can do it. You’re here now."
Arielle grabbed his hand, playing with his fingers while her other hand fixed Ronan’s messy hair. The serene atmosphere made the man drowsy. He yawned several times, and the next seconds he fell into a deep sleep.
Arielle continued to watch Ronan’s sleeping face. The man looked so peaceful. She could see his lips slightly parted. Ronan should have told her earlier, so she could help him rest comfortably by staying beside him.
Arielle knew Ronan didn’t want to look weak in front of other people. However, a king was also a human being who could get sick. Fighting dragons or not sleeping for days didn’t make him immune to any illness.
Arielle stared at the man’s face, which had a scar. From the start, it seemed Ronan had trouble sleeping. She hoped she could help that man get better. Arielle wanted Ronan to lean on her too.
