Loving The Cursed Werewolf King-Chapter 361: His Friends Come To Visit
Arielle couldn’t catch a wink of sleep the entire night. She stayed awake because Ronan kept on checking her several times. After making sure Arielle was beside him, Ronan went back to sleep. She noticed how Ronan was always restless in his sleep. He couldn’t really sleep well peacefully.
A slight movement from Arielle would wake Ronan up from his sleep. After that, Arielle would caress Ronan’s head, so he could go back to sleep.
She touched his forehead, which was still warm. Though, it wasn’t as hot as before. Arielle was wondering how could Ronan get sick like this? Was it possible because Ronan would enter his transformation time soon? But wasn’t he fine before?
The more Arielle thought about it, the farther the answer flew away.
In the morning, a doctor and a priest came to examine Ronan. Arielle put her coat back on because she felt it would be improper to only wear her nightgown.
"How is he, Doctor?" Arielle asked after the doctor checked Ronan’s pulse and the priest lowered the man’s temperature.
"His body temperature is still high, but it is already much better than two days ago. I advise you to rest for just a day, Your Majesty. You need to rest and eat properly," the doctor reminded Ronan, who just nodded his head.
Ronan’s body felt lighter as the priest used his power to lower his body temperature. Arielle received the medicine from the doctor. After the doctor and the priest left the room, she approached Ronan to check the man’s temperature.
It was true. His body temperature returned to normal, but Arielle could feel it rising again slowly. The effect of the priest’s power only lasted a few minutes because, after Ronan had eaten his breakfast, his temperature rose again.
"Ronan, don’t you feel weird about your temperature?" Arielle asked while preparing the medicine the doctor had given her.
"My temperature? I didn’t find any oddities. Priest Elis also said there was nothing out of the ordinary. It’s just a common cold and flu."
Arielle nodded in understanding. "In that case, I am relieved. Maybe I am just worried too much," she replied.
"You are," he answered playfully.
After giving the medicine to Ronan, Arielle opened the window curtain to make the room a little brighter. Maybe because of the effect of the medicine, Ronan fell back asleep. While the man was sleeping, Arielle used the opportunity to change her clothes and asked Lucas to cancel some of her schedules.
"Is it okay if I study alone today? I’m still worried about His Majesty’s condition."
"It’s all right, Your Highness. I can bring the book you need if you want."
"Thank you, Lucas. Please tell Tania I won’t be having lunch in my room."
Lucas nodded in understanding. After telling everything she needed to say, Arielle returned to Ronan’s room. She was a little surprised to find the three musketeers were inside.
"Oh, good morning," Arielle greeted William, Lazarus, and Kael.
The three of them stood and bowed respectfully to greet Arielle. Kael stood up from his chair and made room for Arielle to sit down. Then, the man chose to stand by the fireplace.
"Good morning, Princess. I’m a little surprised to know that you already know about Ronan’s condition," William said, feeling guilty because he had lied about the man’s busyness the last two days.
Arielle chuckled. "It’s okay, Lord William. I know you’re just following orders," he replied.
"So, how did he get sick in the first place?" Lazarus asked William.
William let out a long sigh.
"I didn’t know for sure what caused Ronan to be like this. As we know, he never got sick. Never, even once. So that night, he nearly fell, which shocked me to death."
"Nearly fell!?" Arielle and Lazarus asked at the same time.
William nodded in approval. "After he visited you in the evening, Ronan returned to his office. At that time, I was helping him to sort out the names of the royal nobles who would be invited to your coronation. But when the man got up to get water, he suddenly staggered."
He added, "When I touched him, his body felt like it was on fire. I immediately called the doctor and Priest Elis. The doctor said it was just a fever and Priest Elis found nothing out of the ordinary either, so he just helped to lower Ronan’s body temperature."
Arielle turned to the side to see Ronan, who was sleeping soundly. If he staggered, didn’t that mean his body was very weak?
"But why did he have to be sick at a time like this?" Lazarus asked again.
Arielle nodded. She also thought the same thing. Last month, when she was still in the South, after a full moon, Ronan came straight to visit her. William also said that Ronan didn’t rest and worked hard to bring her back to the North. After all of that, Ronan still looked fit even though Arielle could see the dark bags under his eyes.
Later, Ronan also had an agenda to hear the citizen’s problem. The man didn’t really rest. It was natural that he got sick. Maybe his body had reached its limit.
"I’m a little worried about tomorrow night," said Arielle, making the three nod.
"We can’t do anything. Even if tomorrow he doesn’t get better, we still have to put him in a cage," Kael replied.
Arielle didn’t want to hear it. Just by imagining it, her heart ached. She had heard the stories about Ronan’s past, and the idea of locking him back behind bars sounded very cruel to Arielle. She knew what Kael said was Ronan’s and people’s sake, but still... Arielle didn’t have the heart.
"Can’t we just let him roam inside the palace? I mean, He said before I came to the palace, he didn’t stay in a cage, but roamed in the palace garden during the full moon," Arielle said, hoping Kael or William would understand what she was trying to say.
"Your Highness, this is for all of us. Ronan had agreed too. We tried it last month, and it worked well. Wasn’t it on your first full moon night in Northendell that the king’s wolf nearly burst into your room?" William asked, making Arielle nod weakly.
"I know what you are worried about, Your Highness. The three of us also feel the same," Kael replied, trying to calm Arielle so she could understand.
