Loving The Cursed Werewolf King-Chapter 375: Blizzard
Arielle batted her eyes. Her body felt as light as a feather, and all her fatigue had disappeared. She didn’t even feel the headache anymore. Arielle felt much fresher than when she fell asleep this morning. She looked at the pocket watch on the nightstand. It was already evening.
Arielle looked around her. She was back in her room. The dream felt so real that she was a bit disoriented. It felt like she was in a different place and time.
Arielle could smell the cold food. It looked like Tania had brought it, but the old woman decided not to wake her up.
Her hand reached for the blanket. Arielle winced at the strange feeling in her hand. When she saw her palm, the flower that the old man had given her in the dream was in her hand. It was a small white flower with a green stalk like a bell.
Arielle had never seen this flower before.
The scent was really refreshing, a soft scent with a hint of honey. Arielle also could smell the spring atmosphere with a very soft creamy almond. She remembered Lord Otis’ instructions to grind the flower and give it a drop of her blood.
When Arielle came out, Lucas, who was standing on guard while reading a book at the door, stood up hurriedly.
"Where are you going, Your Highness? The night is coming soon," the man said, trying to remind Arielle that she was not allowed to leave the room during a full moon night.
"Night hasn’t come yet, has it? I need to do something in the kitchen."
"Are you hungry? I can bring you dinner. I beg you to stay in your room, Your Highness. Please tell me what you need, so I can bring it to you."
A guard ran down the hallway to warn the other guards on duty about the ruckus in the basement of the Cathedral. Two high priests followed behind the guard.
"What is it?" Lucas asked worriedly at the worry on the three men’s faces.
"His Majesty the King had transformed into a wolf. And it looks like the iron bars won’t be able to hold it in any longer. Please hide Princess Arielle well."
Arielle knew she didn’t have much time left. The more she forced herself to fight Lucas, the longer the man kept her in her room. The best thing she could do was to ask Lucas to pick up the mortar for her.
"Why do you need that, Your Highness?"
"Lucas, please just do it. We don’t have much time," Arielle said. She was worried about Ronan’s conditions.
There were two priests guarding in front of the door. Arielle had to meet with Ronan, but they would let her out of her room. Maybe if she was in her old room, Arielle could have escaped through the window and jumped down, but this room was on the third floor of Whitethorn Palace.
Under the balcony of her room, there was a balcony of the meeting room. However, the distance was quite far. It would be dangerous if she jumped recklessly.
While waiting for Lucas to get the mortar, Arielle was always on standby if there was any news from the Cathedral. The guards looked more restless than usual. She was getting more and more worried when the latest news said the wolf was banging its head on the iron bars.
There was a knock on the room, and Lucas arrived with a mortar and pestle. "Any news?" Arielle asked as she put the flower into the mortar and started grinding them.
"The bodyguard who just passed me said that within five minutes, the wolf was still banging his head. Priest Elis suggested injecting him with a sedative."
Arielle was very surprised to hear that.
"Is it that bad?"
Lucas shook his head, unable to answer the princess’ question. He did not know the situation in the basement of the cathedral. Lucas only heard from the reports of the guards patrolling the palace. The guards reminded him to stay alert.
"But it’s not night yet," Arielle muttered, feeling frustrated because of the situation.
Lucas couldn’t respond. He glanced at what the princess was doing. Lucas didn’t want to disturb Arielle, so he left the room to guard at the door.
Arielle finished grinding the flower until it was crushed. The aroma was getting stronger. She reached for the small knife Lucas had also brought. Arielle cut the tip of her index finger and dripped a drop of blood on top of the crushed flower.
BOOM!
Arielle was surprised to hear a booming sound followed by a howl of a wolf.
"Ronan?" Arielle called, frozen in her place.
The wind was blowing hard, and the blizzard was getting heavier. The glass windows rattled because of the wind. No, Ronan hadn’t run away from his place. Arielle could feel it. She opened her bedroom door to look for Lucas.
"What was that sound just now?" Arielle asked, half panicked.
"It’s nothing, Your Highness. Maybe something has fallen because of the blizzard. Please rest inside."
Arielle looked back at her pocket watch. It was still evening, but the outside was as dark as midnight. Arielle had to go to the basement of the Cathedral to meet with Ronan. This was the medicine given by Otis to ease the anger of Amadea’s curse in Ronan’s body.
Arielle wrapped the mortar with a cloth. She opened the window. Seeing how high her position was, she swallowed hard. Arielle dragged a chair to put it behind the door so Lucas couldn’t enter her room.
Arielle looked at the ground below her in fear.
"No! I have to be brave!" she muttered. 𝓯𝓻𝒆𝙚𝒘𝓮𝙗𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝒍.𝙘𝓸𝙢
She walked closer to the edge of the balcony and tied a cloth to help her go down to the second-floor. She hoped she wouldn’t slip on her way down. However, the wind was blowing hard.
Arielle’s body was flung left and right. She tried to find a way to get off the edge of the balcony, but the wind blew her away.
