Loving The Cursed Werewolf King-Chapter 376: Arielle Introduces Herself To Amadea
Arielle stretched out her leg as far as possible, then she released her hand from the cloth. She just needed to get off the second balcony to the ground. Arielle took off another cloth that she had prepared. It had been tied around her waist.
Arielle did the same as before. However, she miscalculated. The second cloth was much shorter than the first. Now, her body was hanging halfway above the ground.
Arielle brushed her fear away and swung her body so she would fall on top of the highest pile of snow. Then, gotcha! She did it. However, Arielle panicked when she was almost drowned by the snow. It turned out the snow was higher than her body.
Her breath became ragged as she managed to get out of the pile of snow. Arielle’s face was red because of the cold snow. She didn’t have much time to linger there.
Arielle didn’t waste her time. She got back on her feet and ran through the backyard of the Whitethorn Palace. She tried her best not to run into the guards.
When she entered the Cathedral, Arielle was surprised to see a row of priests guarding every hall of the palace. Before she had time to hide herself, she met with Priest Elis and a doctor.
"Your Highness! What are you doing here!?" Priest Elis asked frantically.
"Priest Elis, I don’t have time to explain about it, but I need to see Ronan right now."
"His Majesty had transformed into a wolf. Now is not the time to meet with him. And... the conditions in the basement are getting out of control."
"And I’m here for it!" Arielle cut his words, making Priest Elis surprised.
Priest Elis saw a cloth brought by Arielle. He frowned at the girl’s dirty and red hands. He didn’t know what the princess would do, but he had faith in her.
"Then, come with me," Priest Elis said.
Arielle followed Priest Elis and the doctor into the basement of the Cathedral. While passing through the underground passage, she could hear the howl of a wolf’s long echoing along the passage.
"We plan to give him a sedative," Priest Elis said, warning Arielle that the conditions below were beyond their control.
"We have calculated the right dose, but due to Your Majesty’s health condition, there may be some minor side effects," the doctor added. Arielle shook her head, rejecting the idea.
"Give me a chance." That was all Arielle could say.
The closer Arielle walked towards the door where Ronan was, the louder the howls. The bangs could be heard clearly. Sometimes, there was the sound of thunder echoing throughout the passage.
Priest Elis opened the door for Arielle.
Inside the room, Priest Jill and another priest were cornering the wolf by emitting light from their hands, trying to stop the wolf from banging its head or body on the iron bars. The thick iron became crooked.
William, Kael, Lazarus had already prepared to stand behind the two priests who were desperately trying to stay in their positions.
William turned his head, and he was surprised to see Arielle, who came with Priest Elis.
"Priest Elis, what does this mean? Why is the Princess here?" he asked frantically.
"This is my request, William," Arielle replied.
Arielle ignored William’s words to return to her room. The wolf glared at her while its saliva dripped from its mouth. The wolf’s sharp teeth looked horrible.
"Ronan?" Arielle called the man’s name, trying to communicate with him, but there was no response.
The wolf barked loudly when it sensed Arielle’s presence. It was getting more and more restless, trying to free itself from the iron bars.
"Are you Amadea?" Arielle asked. The wolf stopped barking, leaving behind a long growl.
Arielle didn’t show her fear. She untied the cloth and pushed the mortar containing the crushed flower mixed with a drop of her blood.
Instantly, the wolf stopped resisting. It sniffed the mortar. Arielle told the priests to release their trigrams. The tense atmosphere suddenly became very calm as the wolf continued to sniff the mortar.
Arielle looked back with a satisfied smile. Priest Elis couldn’t grasp what was happening.
"Can you leave me for a bit? I will explain to you later."
"Princess, this is very dangerous," Lazarus said anxiously. He couldn’t let the princess with Ronan alone.
Arielle shook her head.
"I’ll be fine," she replied with a faint smile, and William nodded in understanding.
"We’ll be waiting at the door just in case you need our help," he said.
"Thank you," Arielle said.
There was only Arielle and the wolf that was sniffing the mortar filled with a crushed flower. She bent her knees and observed the wolf, which had become calmer than before. Arielle tried to see whether Ronan was hurt or not.
"Ronan?" Arielle called softly.
Even though Arielle had called the wolf, she received no reply other than a fierce growl, as if it was trying to threaten her.
"Amadea? Am I talking to Amadea now?" Arielle asked, and the wolf barked, making the girl startled.
The basement door opened again. The panicked William tried to protect Arielle from the wolf’s aggression behind the bars.
"All well, Your Highness?" he asked. Kael had reached Arielle’s other side while pointing his sword at the wolf. So did Lazarus.
"I’m fine, William. There’s nothing to worry about."
Arielle stood up and pushed everyone out of the room. She still needed time alone with the wolf. William opened his mouth to warn her about the wolf, but Arielle quickly closed the door. She fixed her skirt, then grabbed the blanket that William might have used earlier while guarding Ronan.
Arielle had to warm herself after diving into the piles of snow and passing through the blizzard out there. Then, she remembered Lucas, who was standing guard in front of her room.
Maybe the man had realized that Arielle was not in her room. She could guess that Lucas would look for her frantically. Arielle promised to apologize to Lucas after this was over.
"Amadea," Arielle called the wolf once again.
(What is this human doing with Cecil’s scent?)
Arielle smiled when she heard the same voice as the one in her dream. 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝕨𝕖𝗯𝚗𝚘𝕧𝕖𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝕞
"Amadea," Arielle called again.
(Tch, calling my name won’t make me listen to you. Stupid human.)
It seemed the wolf didn’t know that its voice was ringing inside Arielle’s head.
"Amadea, I can hear your voice," Arielle said, making the wolf’s stop growling. It tilted its head in confusion.
(You can hear my voice? No, no... no human in this world can hear my voice other than Cecil.
"But I can," Arielle said.
(Cecil?)
"No, my name is Arielle."
No more voice echoed in Arielle’s head. She didn’t know if their communication was cut off or Amadea chose to stop talking to her. Arielle moved closer, then she smiled at the wolf, who was staring at her fiercely.
"Amadea, can you return Ronan to me? He’s sick, so I need to take care of him."
The wolf barked. "I’m fine!" Arielle shouted before William barged in and made her communication with Amadea cut off again.
"Very well, Your Highness. We understand," William replied.
