Loving The Cursed Werewolf King-Chapter 409: How Arielle Solves The Problem
Arielle walked around the chapel. The building was not very big, much smaller than the cathedral in the palace. On the roof of the chapel, it was full of white snow that had piled up. Arielle could see a white vine covered with the size of palm spade-shaped leaves. It looked like it was one of the endemic plants.
Walking down the path reminded Arielle of Priest Louise’s house because even though they were in the extreme cold, some simple plants could grow. Even some of the pine trees surrounding the chapel grew tall with green leaves. However, the leaves looked paler than what Arielle saw in the South.
Arielle arrived in a fairly spacious backyard. There was a garden where many flowers were blooming beautifully. She was stunned for a moment until her eyes caught a figure in a black coat sitting with his back on the ground.
His thick black coat looked warm, with lots of fur around his neck. However, seeing the heaps of snow on top of it, it seemed Ronan had been sitting there alone for hours.
She let out a deep breath when she found two empty whiskey bottles at the man’s side.
"I told you I didn’t want to be disturbed," Ronan threatened in a sharp tone.
Arielle ignored him and still came closer. She took off her coat, then gently wrapped it around Ronan’s shoulders. Smelling a familiar scent that he badly missed, the man’s body froze on the spot.
"You forgot to take me with you," Arielle said with a laugh and hugged Ronan from behind. Her long, loose hair dangled forward, tickling Ronan earlobes.
"Arielle?" he asked in surprise that the girl was here with him. "How could you-"
Arielle just smiled at seeing Ronan’s panicked face. She ignored him and looked at the two black marbles towering in front of her.
After reading the name ’Irene’, Arielle immediately realized that it was the tomb of Ronan’s younger sister. It meant that the tomb beside it belonged to the previous queen. She straightened her body and fixed up her dress. She bowed her head to pay homage to Ronan’s family.
Ronan, who was still surprised, observed Arielle carefully. He did not expect the girl to follow him all the way here. When he realized something, he turned his face away. Ronan realized that he had become a bad fiancé. He had promised Arielle to bring her here yesterday. However, because of his frustration, Ronan came here alone, leaving Arielle behind.
Ronan held Arielle’s green coat and inhaled her scent. He buried his face in the scent of the coat.
After paying her last respects and praying for them to rest in peace in the afterworld, Arielle sat beside the man while leaning back on him.
"Did you have breakfast?" she asked in a very soft voice.
Ronan shook his head.
"I had already prepared breakfast for you, but you weren’t in your room. Are you hungry now?"
Ronan hadn’t filled his stomach since last night. He only drank whiskey. He couldn’t think straight since last night, so he just drank the whiskey contentedly. All Ronan could think of was Arielle’s disappointed face, who had left him alone.
"Are you hungry or not?" asked Arielle while nudging Ronan’s shoulder. "I brought you breakfast if you’re hungry."
Ronan still didn’t want to answer. Arielle snatched back her coat from him. The man kept sniffing it like a dog since earlier.
"I am here. Instead of hugging my coat, why don’t you just hug me directly?" she asked.
"Can I?"
"Why are you asking? Of course, you can!" Arielle spread her arms and Ronan quickly embraced her body tightly. It was so tight that the girl couldn’t breathe properly.
Arielle exclaimed in surprise as the man’s freezing face touched the skin of her neck. Ronan inhaled the scent of Arielle, which he longed for.
"Sorry," Ronan muttered in the crook of the girl’s neck.
"Sorry for what?"
"I didn’t keep my promise and left you behind."
Arielle nodded. "I have forgiven you. Are there more?"
"Sorry for giving you a cold treatment last night."
"It’s fine. I don’t mind it at all. Are there more?"
Ronan shook his head, and Arielle laughed. It turned out that giving the man time and space last night still could not make Ronan understand his mistake of hitting Lazarus. If this continued, Ronan would never admit it. It seemed Arielle had to tell him slowly.
Arielle released the man’s tight hug from her waist. At first, Ronan refused, but she touched his face, making the man seem hypnotized by Arielle.
"Ronan."
Ronan dived into Arielle’s sparkling blue eyes.
"Yes?" he replied.
"You have one more mistake, and I had told you yesterday."
Ronan lowered his face to put on a sullen face. However, Arielle cupped both sides of the man’s face and lifted it again gently so that Ronan couldn’t help but meet Arielle’s eyes again.
"It’s not my fault. Lazarus deserved it."
"Lazarus didn’t deserve it," Arielle corrected with a gentle voice.
The girl smiled, causing Ronan to curse inwardly. He wanted to avert his eyes because if he kept staring at Arielle like this, he knew he would lose. After Ronan didn’t try to avert his eyes again, Arielle raised her index finger.
"First. Look, I’m not hurt, right?"
"But what if there were sharp rocks and dirt on the pile of snow? You’re going to get hurt, right?"
Arielle thought for a moment, trying to imagine that. Then, she shook her head firmly.
"I don’t know, because it didn’t happen. Besides, I wasn’t hurt," she replied casually.
Ronan was about to open his mouth again to argue with Arielle, but he realized that it was just his own worries.
"Second," Arielle continued, raising her middle finger as well. "You said it yourself that Lazarus was daydreaming. That means Lazarus did it unconsciously, right? I’m pretty sure that if Lazarus was aware of his surroundings, he wouldn’t have done it, especially when you’re by my side."
Ronan nodded in response to Arielle’s words. Yeah, that must the stupidest thing he ever did if he dare to do that intentionally.
"And lastly, the most important thing." Arielle raised her ring finger. "Lazarus is your friend, right? He is your best friend, just like William and Kael. Not a single friend deserves to be beaten. If there’s something unpleasant, you can talk it over first. Ask him what happened and why he did it. You know when someone is lying or not, right?"
