Loving The Cursed Werewolf King-Chapter 411: Ronan Doesn’t Want To Take Off His Mask
After speaking with the priest, Ronan sat back with Arielle. However, Arielle stood up to greet the people who leaving the hall.
"Where will they go?" asked Arielle.
"A short break. Where did the three of them go?" Ronan replied.
"I told William to buy some small souvenirs for the choir children, while Lazarus and Aimee went to buy them snacks."
"I didn’t hear wrong, did I?" Ronan asked.
"Sorry?"
"Lazarus and Aimee?" 𝑓𝓇𝘦ℯ𝘸𝘦𝑏𝓃𝑜𝘷ℯ𝑙.𝑐𝑜𝓂
"It’s okay. They are both adults."
"Are you sure?’ Ronan asked skeptically.
Arielle didn’t answer, and she just smiled. She then took the lunch box she prepared for the man. "You haven’t had breakfast, have you? I brought this for you. Maybe not as warm as usual since I made it in the morning."
"It doesn’t matter. It will definitely be delicious."
Ronan ate Arielle’s breakfast voraciously. Even though he didn’t fill his stomach with anything from last night, it still didn’t make Ronan not hungry because his mind was chaotic enough to think about things like eating. However, knowing it was Arielle’s food, Ronan immediately became hungry.
Arielle saw Ronan, who had taken off his mask because no one else was there. His hand slowly reached out to touch the scar on the man’s face.
"Don’t you plan to take off your mask completely?" Arielle asked, feeling sorry because Ronan had to cover up his past continuously.
Ronan shook his head. He didn’t want to take off his mask for many reasons. Since he had a wound on his face, he had been wearing a mask. He didn’t want his people to know that he had been through such a terrible experience.
Even during the funeral of his family... Ronan covered it completely. Only the palace workers witnessed and knew about that incident. The public was made aware that both Ronan’s parents and his younger sister died because of illness, and Ronan wore the mask so that he would not catch the disease.
Ronan’s first appearance with a mask quite surprised the public, considering that the handsome crown prince had to hide his face. And the news about him wearing a mask was getting more and more twisted.
Some said that it just covered the possibility that he was replaced by someone else, so he hid his true face with a mask. There was also news, saying he had an illness that made his face hideous.
Ronan endured years of accusations. As time went on, they increasingly forgot the reason he originally wore the mask. The mask had become his new identity. Everyone knew that the king of Northendell was the king who wore a mask.
Besides, Ronan also did not want the public to see the wound on his face that was inscribed by his own mother. The previous queen had the impression of a compassionate person in public, thus Ronan did not want others to change their view of his deceased mother.
Because Ronan knew, deep down, he realized that his mother had hurt his face because of her fear. His mother was traumatized by his father, who killed his own little sister.
"People will see my wound. I’d better hide it," Ronan replied dejectedly.
Ronan closed the breakfast box he was holding. He leaned back on the back of the bench and looked at the large glass window behind the altar that illuminated the hall.
"You must have known that your father did the same thing, Arielle. It’s just that the two of us are wearing two different masks."
Every king and queen would definitely show their perfect side in public. And Ronan used the mask to make a perfect impression. With the mask, he covered the wounds in his past. It meant the public didn’t need to know about the unfortunate incident that took his family and what his mother had done to his face.
Meanwhile, King Hugo and Queen Rosalie tried to hide Arielle’s existence, reducing the possibility of Arielle appearing in public by not inviting her to royal events so that people didn’t know what they had done to Arielle.
The public just knew that every member of the royal family would definitely get the best education and treatment. There was not a single one of them who couldn’t read or write, that was what the people thought.
And Arielle, who became the black sheep in her family, should reduce her appearances in public as much as possible. Maybe Arielle would just show her face at a royal event where the royal family members didn’t need to interact with other people.
"I put this mask on to cover my wounds and your father used his happy family with your siblings to cover up the fact that you didn’t get fair treatment in the palace. We both want to make a good impression on the public in different ways."
Arielle nodded. She understood what the man meant. She brushed Ronan’s hair, which she had cut the previous day, then she touched the wound on the man’s face.
"I understand."
Ronan lowered his face a little so that Arielle could continue to touch his face. Arielle’s soft hand touched his face very gently, like he was the most precious person in the girl’s life. The warmth of Arielle’s palms also warmed Ronan’s ears, which had been cold from staying outside for too long.
Arielle stood up to walk towards the altar. She gracefully climbed the three stairs in front of her, then turned to Ronan.
"Our marriage is getting closer. If I may ask, how do you feel right now? And what will you do after we get married?" Arielle asked.
"What will I do? Of course, I will demand all your promises. From wearing the red lingerie to-"
"No!" Arielle cut in, feeling embarrassed that Ronan was talking about it so casually.
They should have minded their words and actions because they were in the chapel. Gosh, Ronan almost gave her a heart attack.
She asked, "That’s not what I mean. I mean, as a husband, what are you going to do after I become your wife?"
