Chapter 438: Arielle In A Crowd

The show had ended, and they would continue the show later. A young man in a straw hat held out his hat to ask for payment, and Ronan took out five gold coins, making the young man’s surprise.

He looked up to see who was the madman who paid so much money for such a cheap trick. However, just as the young man wanted to see, the man turned around and took his partner away from the place. He took three other coins and put them in his own pocket.

Ronan saw several people dressed in Thebis. It seemed the merchant group they had encountered at Frostmount had already set foot in the capital and they would be staying for some time in Northendell.

"Ronan! Isn’t that the female dancer we met at the Frostmount market?" Arielle asked while pointing to a group of women in a full gold-embellished breastplate and a skirt that hung from the waist. It also had a slit down to the hips.

Arielle pulled Ronan’s hand to take a closer look. However, her steps stopped with a tense body, making Ronan alert.

"Why? What is it, Arielle?"

Arielle extended her hand to point at something on the shoulder of one of the dancers. "Th-that’s a snake!?" she asked in amazement.

Ronan held his heart. He thought Arielle saw something that made her panic, but it turned out that the girl was just amazed to see a reptile. The snake was so big, and it leaned on the shoulder of a woman who was dancing very gracefully on the stage.

Ronan had to hold onto Arielle so the girl wouldn’t run to touch the reptile. He could feel Arielle’s body shivering with enthusiasm. The snake dancer began to walk around the audience. Some of the men she approached became awkward because in the North it was rare to see a woman’s body exposed like that. Everything was covered from head to toe to keep out the cold.

Now, the woman was dancing in front of Arielle, and Arielle who saw a snake for the first time, reached out to touch the animal spontaneously. Ronan held Arielle’s hand so as not to overdo it.

"Want to hold her, Miss? This snake doesn’t bite," the woman said in a voice that sounded so sexy to Arielle’s ears.

"May I give it a try?"

"Arielle, you’re not afraid?" Ronan whispered as several eyes were starting to look at them right now.

"No. This snake seems quite a good child," said Arielle after briefly making eye contact with the snake.

Without the woman’s help, like an instinct, the snake moved to Arielle’s shoulder, making the dancing woman amazed.

"The snake rarely likes anyone, but it likes you, Miss," said the woman, making Arielle smile.

"Is that true?" Ronan pressed his lips together at seeing Arielle’s happy face.

Ronan as usual, always kept his distance if there were other animals around. He moved his hand to tell the woman to take the snake back from Arielle’s body because he didn’t want anything else to linger on Arielle’s body.

After giving the coins to the donation collector, Ronan invited Arielle to have dinner.

"What do you want to eat tonight?" he asked.

Arielle looked around and saw various kinds of food available. Her mouth was watering. She wanted to taste it all, but she knew she couldn’t eat all of it at once.

Arielle’s choice fell on an egg pancake filled with meat and vegetables topped with a tomato sauce.

"Sit here, I’ll buy it for you."

Ronan took the initiative to buy it for Arielle. He told Arielle to sit and wait because the place that sold pancakes looked very crowded. He even had to queue. Arielle had been walking around a lot. Ronan didn’t want to tire her out. Besides, the girl sat where he could see her so he wasn’t too worried. Arielle smiled at Ronan, making the man smile behind the cloth covering his face.

Arielle looked around her, seeing all kinds of people enjoying the event. This night’s event seemed like it would last until her wedding day. Imagining the happy days of the North made Arielle smile to herself.

"Good evening, Miss. Do you want to buy flowers?"

Arielle turned to the side to see a girl sitting beside her holding a wooden basket filled with many red roses.

"Whaaa... are they all real flowers?" Arielle asked in amazement because it was rare to see native flowers in the North other than in Priest Louise’s garden.

"Of course. My family has their own flower garden," the young girl replied with a big smile as if he was proud of what she had.

"In the North? Your parents have a garden in the North?" 𝕗𝐫𝚎𝗲𝘄𝐞𝕓𝐧𝕠𝘃𝕖𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝚖

"Of course. We live in Biriwick and we come here to sell the flowers we have grew."

Arielle nodded. She shouldn’t have been surprised because even though the lands of the North were covered with snow, there were many ways to grow plants here even if they were rare.

Ronan said that there were several areas that were devoted to fields and were assisted by the priests. Apart from that, Arielle had also seen the garden owned by Priest Louise herself, so planting roses in the North was something that could be done.

"You came here alone?" Arielle asked.

"With my dad. That’s my father," the daughter of the rose seller pointed to a crowd of men eating in a tavern across the square.

Arielle checked the group of the men. Some were wearing thick coats, but sitting with their backs to them. There was also a blonde man with a big belly sitting facing them. Ah, it must be her father. The man sat while facing her to check the whereabouts of his daughter. Arielle raised her hand to greet the man from a distance.

Arielle’s movement was caught by the blonde-haired man. He looked back to look for someone who was greeted by Arielle, and when he felt that he was the one greeted by her, the man raised his hand awkwardly. He then turned around because he was embarrassed to be greeted by someone he didn’t know.

"My father is a shy person," said the child, making Arielle chuckle.
