Chapter 462: How Ronan Feels About Arielle’s Decisions

Just as the sky began to lighten again, showing that morning was coming, the group of carriage came out of the forest. From a distance, Arielle could see the part of the hill that was affected by the disaster. Snow and soil eroded, leaving the hillside brown.

She wondered, what caused the hill to collapse? Even from a distance, it could be seen. Arielle couldn’t imagine how big the disaster was. Ronan said the avalanche covered half of Birwick Village.

For some reason, Arielle got worried because she couldn’t imagine how angry Ronan would be if he found her here right now. A horse ridden by one of the knights caught up near Arielle’s window and knocked softly. Then, Arielle opened the window.

"Yes? What is it?"

"His Majesty the King has learned of your arrival. In a moment, he will pick you up."

"Is that true?" asked Arielle, who was starting to feel panicked.

"Yes, we will meet him near the village entrance."

"I understand," Arielle replied, then closed the window again.

Aimee held Arielle’s arm gently.

"You don’t have to worry. His Majesty will not be angry at you," the girl said, making Arielle feel a little calmer.

"I hope so," replied Arielle halfheartedly.

They arrived in front of a tall wooden gate. Fences made of wood shaped round with pointed ends surrounded the village. Maybe the purpose was to prevent wild animals from entering the village, considering that this village was located at the bottom of a hill, so wild animals could sneak into people’s homes in the middle of the night and cause chaos.

While Arielle was still busy admiring the tall wooden fences, suddenly the carriage door opened violently. Ronan, wearing his black mask, looked at Arielle sharply. Judging by the veins in his hands gripping the carriage door, it seemed Ronan was holding back his anger. Arielle could only give the man a small smile.

"Hi," Arielle said awkwardly.

Ronan grabbed Arielle’s hand a little more roughly, but still held Arielle’s waist to lift his wife off the carriage.

"We’ll talk now," Ronan whispered.

"William!" Ronan called in a booming voice.

William, who was greeting Kael, rushed over to Ronan who called his name.

"You take care of all this. I’ll talk to Arielle for a bit."

"Okay, you get some rest first," William replied, making Ronan grumble.

Rest? How could he rest when he saw his wife who was supposed to be spending time in the palace suddenly appear in this dangerous place? It was not that Ronan didn’t want to bring Arielle to this village. It was just that the avalanche was caused by a strange earthquake. Last night, when he arrived, Roann could still feel the ground beneath him shaking. This area was still categorized as a red zone.

"Didn’t you meet any guard on your way? You should meet with the guards who will stop you from crossing the iron bridge," Ronan asked as he dragged Arielle towards the inn where he and William had taken shelter last night.

"The iron bridge? I didn’t remember crossing the iron bridge. I only remembered if I crossed a wooden bridge," Arielle said, making Ronan stop in his tracks.

"You guys crossed the short path!?" 𝕗𝕣𝐞𝐞𝘄𝐞𝚋𝚗𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗹.𝚌𝕠𝚖

Arielle lowered her head in fear because Ronan scolded her so harshly. Seeing Arielle who let go of her hand made Ronan let out a long sigh.

"I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to shout at you," Ronan said while hugging his wife’s body.

Ariel just nodded. After Ronan let go of their embrace, the man pulled her towards one of the inns near the gate. Arielle looked around her and saw no one there.

"Where’s everybody?" Arielle asked while chasing her husband’s wide steps.

"They have been evacuated to the next village. So, for now, this village is a dead village," Ronan replied.

Ronan continued to pull Arielle into one of the rooms in the inn. After closing the door to the room, he threw away his mask, then grabbed his wife’s face and kissed Arielle roughly. His hands actively took off the thick coat that Arielle was wearing and pressed the girl’s body against the wooden wall of the room.

The surprised Arielle tried to stop him as Ronan hugged her very tightly.

"Ronan..."

Ronan bit Arielle’s lips, then stuck out his tongue to sip the softness and tenderness of his wife’s lips.

Ronan kept pushing Arielle until the girl fell on the bed. Both of her legs held Arielle in place, so she couldn’t run away. He lowered his kiss on Arielle’s neck and his hand subconsciously squeezed Arielle’s breast from outside the dress, making the girl moan.

"Ronan... you said you wanted to talk."

"Yes, I am talking... with your body."

Arielle grabbed Ronan’s face and pushed him away.

"I know you’re angry with me, but I want us to talk first ..."

Ronan then laid down on top of Arielle’s body. After embracing the girl’s body for quite a long time, the man sat back down. Arielle also sat down while fixing the position of her dress. Ronan, who saw Arielle having trouble tying her corset, positioned his body behind her and helped the girl tie her corset.

"Ronan, I’m sorry for making my own decisions without your permission," Arielle said.

Ronan put his forehead on Arielle’s back.

"It’s not that I don’t want you to come here, Arielle... but this place is still dangerous..."

"I’m sorry..."

"I don’t know what to feel right now. I’m annoyed that you came without me knowing, but I’m also happy to see you again. Then, I got angry again because I heard you went on the short path. However, after thinking about it, I also feel proud of you because your decision to help the people here was very right."

"Is that true?"

Ronan nodded. "Last night, I sent one person to ask for the things you brought to be brought here immediately. I expected the help to arrive in four to five days, but my angel came sooner than I thought."

Arielle smiled, then rubbed Ronan’s hand which was wrapped around her stomach. She pushed her hair aside, so Ronan could see his wife’s slender neck and some of the red marks from his bite that hadn’t faded.

"So, you’re still mad at me, my beloved husband?"

"Ughh... you’re taking advantage of my weakness, huh? If you’re being cute like this, how can I still be angry?"

Ronan also put his lips on each of his love bites and bit in the same place, making the faded mark look fresh again.

"You want to see the things I brought with me now?"

Ronan shook his head. He turned Arielle over and pinned her down.

"William said I need to rest first. I haven’t slept since yesterday, so... may I?" Ronan asked as he slowly pulled back the corset string behind Arielle’s waist.

"Can I refuse?" asked Arielle, making Ronan laugh. The man shook his head firmly and vented his longing for his wife’s touch, which he hadn’t had in the last twenty-four hours.
