Loving The Cursed Werewolf King-Chapter 465: Arielle Is Getting Desperate
What happened? Arielle looked at the chaos in front of her anxiously. Her feet seemed to be glued to the snow as she watched the screams and cries of the people who filled the special tent provided for the citizens who were going through a transitional period.
A mother yelled at Priest Jill, accusing the priest of murdering her son. The woman who was full of anger hit Priest Jill’s head with the wooden bowl she had picked up from the ground.
Priest Jill couldn’t move. No one could help because the other priests as well as apprentice priests were being protected by the knights from the wrath of the citizens who did not accept their family members dying in the cold weather.
Arielle ran fast. She hugged Priest Jill and received a very hard wooden bowl hit on the head, and everyone fell silent for a moment.
Arielle held Priest Jill’s pale face, and the man was staring at her in horror. Both of the man’s eyes trembled when he saw the red liquid dripping down Arielle’s white hair.
"Priest Jill. Are you okay?" Arielle asked, making sure one of the high priests of the cathedral was no longer injured.
"Your Highness... but you..."
Arielle’s arm was pulled back. Kael was holding her hand tightly. Ronan was returning to the previous village because many dead bodies of citizens who did not survive yesterday’s disaster had been found. If Ronan saw Arielle’s condition right now, the man would go on a rampage and injure more people.
"You must treat your wounds immediately!" Kael exclaimed.
"Aimee!!!" Kael shouted, calling for his sister. Aimee was currently helping a doctor to treat Namina who was injured by the citizens. She turned and ran to her brother right away.
"What’s the matter, Brother? Good grief!"
Aimee gasped at the blood dripping from Arielle’s head. The girl carried Arielle to her tent while calling a doctor to come with them.
"Kael! Protect the priests... And treat Priest Jill’s wounds immediately!" Arielle ordered before Aimee dragged her away.
Kael chuckled. Actually this was not the time for the princess to think about other people. Ronan had only left them briefly, but there had been a chaos they couldn’t handle. Kael then summoned the knights who were distributing food to help treat the priests’ wounds.
The chaos had resolved. The screams of insults were no longer heard, only the faint cries of families who had lost their siblings, children, or parents remained. At first, the citizens were quite happy when their feverish family temperature slowly dropped after being treated by the doctors and priests.
However, they were negligent so they didn’t realize the warmth in their bodies continued to come down and gradually became cold, making their every pulse fail to multiply the blood, and they finally breathed their last. .
They cursed the priests who were incompetent with their families. They vent all the annoyance, anger, and stress stored for days after losing everything to the disaster in this incident.
And earlier... seeing Arielle who was injured made everyone calm down. They could think clearly right now and regret using violence on people who had tried to help their families. The tears of regret were heartbreaking. There were no more voices of thanks and cheers of people getting help.
That night everything became very cold and heartbreaking.
Arielle wiped her tears inside the tent. Aimee also wanted to cry because she felt sad that she couldn’t comfort the princess. She couldn’t see Arielle who was bearing the grief of many people alone. The girl was still too fragile.
Aimee wiped the remaining blood on Arielle’s head so that the doctor could immediately treat it. The doctor could only treat Arielle’s wound in silence. He was afraid to speak because he had seen for himself how the king was when he was angry every time he found out his wife was injured. The man would surely lash out his anger later.
Aimee took out her handkerchief and wiped the rest of the princess’s tears.
"Your Highness, don’t be sad anymore," Aimee said in a very soft voice.
Arielle nodded trying to stop her crying, but it was really hard. She could still hear the faint sound of soft crying from outside the tent, and it was like slicing her heart with a very sharp knife. She had promised to heal those people. Arielle had given a false hope, and the stake was their lives...
Arielle’s bad premonition had come true. She couldn’t save even a single person. A baby who should be able to accompany the mother to adulthood had left first. Arielle looked at her trembling palms. Even her strength meant nothing...
She still didn’t know how to form trigrams like the priests. She didn’t even know how to warm other people. Arielle still needed Namina’s help when she felt a little cold. She felt so useless... Why was she chosen to be a child of the moon goddess if she couldn’t help other people?
In the midst of his despair, there was suddenly a tremendous surge of determination in Arielle. After the doctor put a bandage on her injured temple, the girl stood up, making Aimee confused.
"Your Highness? Where do you want to go?’ Aimee asked as she immediately ran after Arielle who came out of the tent.
The girl went to a tent filled with the grieving people.
"Excuse me, I need a way to get in," Arielle said firmly, making everyone around the tent look back, and they immediately make way for their queen to come forward.
Arielle stood in front of Priest Jill who still looked sad. She didn’t know if it would work or not, but she wanted to give it a try. She wanted to at least try even though the results were in vain. Arielle didn’t want to just cry in regret and slumped in her place. At least she had to try. Even though nothing happened, Arielle just wanted to try.
"Your Highness?" Priest Jill looked up with a face wet with tears.
"Priest Jill, do you still have any strength left?" Arielle asked without beating around the bush.
Priest Jill wiped his tears. He saw the princess was full of determination, and he didn’t want to drown in sadness for his failure earlier. He stood in front of the queen.
"Is there anything I can help you with?" Priest Jill asked.
Arielle nodded. "Gather all the priests that are still capable of generating mana and come with me," Arielle ordered.
Aimee and Kael fell silent in their place. They seemed to see a different figure right now. Arielle’s back looked straighter than usual. The girl’s shoulders did not bend or tremble. And they could only stand watching in amazement.
Arielle gathered all the priests to hear what she was going to say.
This might sound crazy, but Arielle had no other way to help. This was the final proof. Arielle promised that. If indeed she was the daughter of the Moon Goddess, then Arielle could definitely come up with something, but if anything happened... maybe Arielle would stop trying and think that everything she was going through was just a falsity.
"Priest Jill, do you remember the incident where my eye color changed?’ Arielle asked Priest Jill beside her.
Now, there were six priests who were accompanying her. She only summoned the priests who had truly mastered the use of mana, not the apprentice priests.
"Yes, Your Highness. All the high priests of the cathedral know about it," replied Priest Jill, making Arielle nod in satisfaction.
"Good. Then, do you know what Priest Elis did to make my power come out?" Arielle asked again.
"Yes, Your Highness. It is by injecting large amounts of mana into your body. However, after they did it, it sent Priest Elis and Priest Khan blown away as your body amplified the amount of mana."
"Good. Then, can you do it?’ Arielle asked, making the six people there fall silent for a moment.
"Pardon, Your Highness?" asked the Priest Jill who was a little unsure of the princess’s question.
"Are all of you able to do the same as Priest Elis and Priest Khan did? Putting large amounts of mana into my body?"
"We could try it, but we’re not sure we have the permission for it."
"I allow it," Arielle said.
"Your Highness...."
Arielle clenched her fists tightly. She didn’t want to see those people hesitate. She had made up her mind. They should be able to trust Arielle. Priest Jill shook his head, and Arielle gripped the man’s arm tightly.
"Priest Jill, this is my request." Arielle shook her head quickly. "No, no. This is my order and I will punish anyone who don;t follow the queen’s orders," she said firmly, making Priest Jill swallow his saliva with difficulty.
"However, we’re not sure if we can give the same amount of mana as Priest Elis and Priest Khan did," the man said.
"No problem. I have the six of you. I believe in your power."
