Loving The Cursed Werewolf King-Chapter 469: The Unexpected Event
"Everyone can lie! Then, Arielle will return to the palace! Get rid of that dog of yours!"
"DOG!? YOU CURSED HUMAN!"
"Maxieno! Our goal is to save Arielle right now!" Otis scolded the red dragon behind him.
Arielle did not have the energy to calm her husband down. It was difficult for her to even breathe, and the air in the Birwick Forest was quite thin, making it difficult for Arielle to maintain her consciousness.
The highest degree of a cold temperature was very painful.
"I planned to invite Arielle and teach her after her coronation day. I also planned to ask you in a formal manner and introduce myself formally as well, but this situation is beyond the plan, Your Majesty. I’ve spoken to Arielle, and I asked Arielle to keep my existence a secret until the right time to visit Northendell Palace."
"Your Majesty, don’t you feel that the Northern cold has been getting more and more extreme lately? Not even a single victim survived during the transition to open the flow of mana in their bodies. That’s because the northern cold is getting unnatural. If this condition continues, the North will be wiped out. Arielle is the only hope, and I can help Arielle to achieve that... Please, trust me."
Ronan remembered his visit to the prison and found that almost all the prisoners froze to death, and none of them had opened their flow of mana. Then, many victims in the village of Birwick also died from the cold. Ronan wanted to believe it, but he still didn’t believe the man.
"Arielle will come with you if I’m with her."
Otis closed his eyes, trying to be patient.
"Ronan, you are the curse bestowed by the God of Mount Birwick. Mount Birwick will reject you. He won’t let you into the territory."
Ronan clenched his jaw tightly. "Then, you come with us."
Otis shook his head. "I’m tied to Mount Birwick. I can’t leave Mount Birwick for long..."
Ronan looked at his wife’s face, who was in pain. "Until when?"
"I still don’t know."
Arielle opened her eyes and smiled at seeing her husband’s teary eyes. With the rest of her strength, she wrapped her arms around Ronan’s neck and gave the man a kiss on the cheek.
"I’ll be back, Ronan. It won’t be long and everything will be fine."
Arielle could feel Ronan’s grip on her waist tighten.
"Promise? Come home soon."
Arielle nodded in agreement...
Ronan still objected to leaving Arielle with the man named Otis. However, the girl’s body temperature was getting hotter, so Ronan didn’t have much choice. He then stopped moving when he saw blood flowing from Arielle’s nose.
"Ronan, Arielle doesn’t have much time."
Ronan rushed to pick up Arielle and gave his wife to the old man. He frowned because Arielle looked like she was floating in Otis’ arms. Ronan clenched his fists when he saw the man carrying Arielle onto the red dragon.
The dragon flapped its wings wide. Ronan was likely bewitched by Otis. He had just realized it when Arielle was not in his arms. He looked up as the dragon flew back. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝐰𝚎𝕓𝐧𝚘𝘃𝗲𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝕞
"Ronan D Blackthorn. One day I will take my revenge for my brother."
"Maxieno! We’re going back now!"
"Tch, damn you, Otis! How dare you order me?"
The dragon roared, then flew off, and in an instant everything calmed down. Ronan and some of the people there stood still. They were still unable to believe what they had just seen. Otis... He had never heard that name before. And the dragon named Maxieno... Why did Ronan feel he had heard that name before? But where?
Someone grabbed his shoulder, making Ronan wake up from his daydream.
"Ronan, what should we do now?" William asked.
"Arielle must recover first. She promised to explain everything to me when she came back later. I believe in her," said Ronan.
William looked up at the grey sky. "Will Princess Arielle return before her coronation day?"
"I hope so," Ronan said briefly.
William wanted to ask why Ronan easily let Princess Arielle go with the mysterious man. Why didn’t Ronan have the slightest hint of suspicion? The man named Otis had indeed very similar traits to Arielle. From his shiny white hair to his blue irises, they were completely the same as Arielle’s, but still... the man arrived with a creature that had once destroyed hundreds of their troops.
What if the man named Otis was a swindler?
Ronan looked at his palm, which lost Arielle’s warmth. "I know what you’re worried about, William," he said.
The man smiled behind his mask while holding one of William’s shoulders.
"You must be wondering why I easily let Arielle be with the man named Otis earlier, right?"
William nodded. Ronan looked up again to look up at the sky of Northendell, which was falling snow again, hoping to catch a glimpse of Arielle’s presence even though it would only be in vain.
"My bond with Arielle is not just husband and wife, William. Our bond goes much deeper than that. I trusted Arielle, and never once did I doubt her. Arielle has grown. My wife can stand on her own two feet now. Even so, I will not leave her. I will still be behind her. Be his guard so that if he falls, I can catch her right away. Like this time, my wife fell a bit, and this is a form of my support."
Ronan took his horse again. He ordered Kael and his two guards to return to Birwick Village to look after Aimee and keep the conditions of the people there, while he and William were going back to the palace to provide more help, and Ronan also wanted to wait for Arielle there.
However... this time there was something strange. After several days passed, Ronan did not get any news about Arielle. The palace became a chaotic place throughout the North. The queen’s coronation festival had taken place in the city. William ran back and forth to solve the problems. Kael and Lazarus had left the palace to search for the whereabouts of Ronan who disappeared without leaving a trace.
D-1 The coronation ceremony
Ronan decided to go to Mount Birwick to look for Arielle, and until one day had passed, Kael did not find Ronan at the place where they agreed to meet. He returned to the Capital and asked Lazarus for help. Then, he took more people with him to explore Mount Birwick deeper.
