Chapter 470: Ronan Gets Lost In The Birwick Mountain

D-Day Coronation event.

There was chaos in the capital palace because William suddenly decided to postpone the coronation ceremony using the excuse that Princess Arielle was sick after helping in Birwick village who had just experienced a natural disaster.

That was when Ronan’s trust was being tested... His confidence slowly began to waver, and every step of his way, he wondered where Arielle was right now....

Kael and Lazarus along with hundreds of troops started to search the part of the forest where they met Otis. Finally, Kael agreed to meet with Ronan again after twelve hours. Ronan also used his wolf form to explore deeper into the forest.

After twelve hours, according to the agreement, Kael came down the mountain. However, the guard who was waiting there said that their king had not come back down. Kael waited. Several hours had passed until night fell again, but Ronan still hadn’t come back.

Kael then announced an emergency situation and brought more troops to search on the mountain. Now, their goal changed to finding Ronan’s whereabouts. Kael divided his troops into many squads led by several high knights as the leader. Lazarus and Kael were assigned to search every forest border while he returned to Mount Birwick.

The higher they went up, the darker the forest was, and the snow was blowing very hard. Each squad of five carried two oil lamps to light the path at the front and back.

Several times, Kael ran into mountain bears and wild animals on the mountain, but he easily defeated them. Kael stopped when he heard one of his knights gasp for breath slightly. He then ordered a priest who was with him to light a fire for them to rest for a while.

He chose to stand, leaning against one of the trees while looking at his tired knights. They had walked uphill all day, but there was no sign that they had found any trace of Ronan there. Kael looked up. He was worried because soon the day would change.

If they followed the plan, then Ronan should be taken underground to prepare for the full moon.

Kael let out a long sigh. Ronan had not anticipated this at all. That time, when Arielle went with the mysterious man, Ronan said that he would trust Arielle. He believed that the princess would return quickly. However, after a few days passed, the man became anxious and panicked.

Everyone tried to calm Ronan, including Archie, Arielle’s older brother. However, Ronan was like a madman who destroyed anything in front of him, searching for Arielle’s whereabouts. All of this would be over if Arielle came back.

"It’s been thirty minutes. We must continue our journey," said Kael, making his team extinguish the smoldering fire and return to walking through the forest.

However, until the next day, they did not find anything. Kael planned to call down all his troops because it was a full moon. He was worried that they would run into Ronan in the form of a wolf that was out of control. Kael ignited a red flare into the sky, which then split into red fireworks.

The closest squad saw the sign, and they did the same.

They had searched all day long. If they moved quickly, they could return to the assembly point before nightfall. There was still time for each of his troops to assemble and not be left behind on Mount Birwick.

"Fast. Fast. Hurry! Before nightfall, we have to get out of the mountain!" shouted Kael who was moving very easily down the mountain.

On the way, Kael felt something was following them. The forest was so dark that it was difficult for him to sharpen his vision. The man stepped aside and gave his squad a chance to run down the mountain first. He stood guard behind.

His hunch was nothing. On the way, he met several more squads. Kael told the squad leader to keep the report until they reached the border because the night was coming, and it was very dangerous, considering that Ronan was still in that place.

They arrived at the assembly point before nightfall. Kael immediately ordered them to leave the forest and open a tent outside the forest. Lazarus, who had just arrived, immediately looked for Kael’s whereabouts to show him something.

"Kael!" Lazarus called hastily.

Kael turned his head and called Lazarus to come closer because he was busy telling the whole army to run faster to leave the forest.

"What is it? Did you find anything?" Kael asked.

"I found this near the riverbank."

Lazarus took out a ruby eyed necklace. It was Arielle’s. Lazarus recognized it because it was Arielle’s necklace when she was being painted. He accompanied Arielle at that time, so he still remembered the shape very well.

As Kael recalled, Princess Arielle didn’t wear any jewellery when she visited Birwick Village. So, it was possible that the necklace was brought by Ronan.

"Which riverbank?"

"Near the wooden bridge."

Kael cursed. The wooden bridge was not far from here. He looked up at the darkening sky. Only a few minutes left before nightfall. If they searched for Ronan right now, it was likely that they would run into Ronan in the form of an uncontrollable wolf. Kael was sure of that.

Kael had to decide something soon. He clutched the pocket of his pants. There was an anesthetic there.

He saw his troops were still running from the forest.

"Lazarus. We’re looking for Ronan together."

Lazarus wanted to protest, but he remembered that Ronan was also his friend. Without hesitation, Lazarus nodded, then provided more arrows. He also brought a bag of food and a lighter in case he needed it.

Kael gave orders to his subordinates to make sure that no one was hurt. They tried to stop their commander from searching the mountain again because the situation was very dangerous, but Kael couldn’t leave his friend alone.

"Lazarus, we go now!"

"Roger, I am at your command!"

Kael ran in the opposite direction of his troops, leaving the forest in the direction of Biriwick Village. Meanwhile, Kael and Lazarus entered a deeper forest, while following the existing path. The sky was dark. They tried to sharpen their ears to guess where Ronan was right now.

When they arrived at the wooden bridge, Lazarus led Kael down a small path to the ravine until they arrived at the edge of a flowing river. Kael touched the river water and found it freezing. He lit the oil lamp and followed Lazarus to the part where the man found Arielle’s necklace.

"Over here," Lazarus pointed at the part of the mixed dirt and snow.

"I was trying to find it on my way home after seeing the signal to retreat, so I haven’t had time to check the whole place yet," he continued.

The wind blew harden sending them a chill feelings. It feels like somthing dangerous was coming closer.

AWUUUU!!!!

Kael and Lazarus looked up. In the dark night in front of them, their eyes met with a pair of sharp red eyes that were glowing eerily, looking at the two of them. A growl sounded quite close.

"Oh. Shit," Lazarus cursed.
