Chapter 399: Travel and Travel Beyond Travel Chapter Ten Curse_3

Lynch stepped aside from the hatchway, allowing Cicy to enter the cabin, while he followed closely behind. The Brass Dragon sniffed the air in front of it, easily locating the room where Soka and the others were.

Zilvra and Van Dijk watched the "young man" who walked in with surprise, his fair face paired with tawny hair, dressed in sky-blue loose cloth, with black pointed soft boots on his feet. A brand-new three-stringed harp was casually held in his hand, while the other hand stroked his upward curling mustache.

"My name is Cicy, good morning everyone. Today’s sun is really a bit..."

Lynch’s Powerful Wand knocked heavily on the wood floor of the cabin, the echo resounding in everyone’s ears. Cicy thought for a moment, stopping his habitual self-introduction, and turned his gaze to the little girl lying on the bed.

"Celestial creature?" The Brass Dragon’s nose only needed one sniff to understand Soka’s identity. It turned back to look at Lynch: "How did you summon her into this world?"

"Her illness," Lynch answered briefly, "The rest of the story will be your reward after the treatment ends."

"Alright! But to think it’s a Dawn Angel!" Cicy stepped forward quickly, placing his hand on Soka’s forehead, muttering words under his breath. Soft white light seeped through his fingers, spreading over the little angel’s entire body. Soka moaned softly a few times, the redness on her face gradually fading, her breathing becoming stable.

However, beads of sweat appeared on Cicy’s forehead, and veins popped up from his hand. His body seemed to be under immense pressure, trembling uncontrollably. Momentarily, he stood up, his legs kicking against the ground, resisting the strong repulsion pulling him away from the angel.

Like a steel rod bent to its breaking point, with a loud "boom," Cicy was flung outright, crashing backward into the wooden wall. Everyone was startled by this sudden event. Van Dijk took a few steps back, covering his head and face with his hands; Zilvra drew her thin sword, cautiously eyeing the direction Cicy had fallen.

Lynch hurried to Soka’s side, placing his hand on her forehead. The mage was relieved to find the little angel’s body had cooled down, the once persistent high fever now abated, and her breathing calm. The little one seemed to have now fallen into a sweet slumber, the illness banished.

"Mage!" Cicy brushed off the dust on himself, standing up nonchalantly from the wall that now sported a big hole: "Come out for a moment, I have something urgent to discuss with you."

Seeing the Brass Dragon’s frowning brow, Lynch also sensed things were becoming quite strange.

"Regardless, your next destination should be the Elf Kingdom located in the Moon Forest, which you humans call the Elf Forest, Salantir. Go seek the Great Druid there, and wait for me." Cicy looked up at the sky, fixing his gaze firmly on the blazing sun: "Things have gone very awry, I must investigate. That little one came across me, you may not realize how fortuitous that is. She is fine now, but I’m afraid something a hundred times worse than her illness might occur. Mage, now tell me, where are your Great Mages? I need to borrow their power."

Lynch looked at the giant dragon, waiting.

"It seems you haven’t forgotten the alliance you made with us dragons." Cicy chuckled bitterly, speaking in the Dragon Clan language: "I, Nerags Minterasif, Brass Dragon, offer my True name in exchange, asking to know where the mages are gathered."

"Lynch Von Dutchland, apprentice of the Mage Association, agrees to your request." Lynch pointed with his Magic Wand to the distance: "It’s in that direction. I believe your knowledge tells you exactly where I mean."

"I understand now, young mage. Sometimes your rituals are even more cumbersome than those of us Brass Dragons." Cicy pointed to the mage’s pocket: "That stone is a Holy Relic of the Druids, you should return it to the Great Druid in due course. Remember, your next stop is Salantir, get there as soon as possible. May fortune accompany you."

With these words, he floated into the air. The form of the giant dragon gradually unfolded, its expansive wings covering the entire shell of the ship. Cicy easily lifted the anchor chain with his claws, flapping his wings to propel the small boat forward. Zilvra and Van Dijk had come to the deck just in time to witness this astonishing scene. The Brass Dragon said to the mage: "Farewell, I will return to retrieve the story you owe me."

After speaking, he flapped his wings and left their sight. Lynch supported the old sailor whose legs had gone weak, gently letting him rest against the ship’s side.

"What’s going on? Why is there a giant dragon wandering nearby?" Zilvra asked: "Do the surface mages still hold control over all Dragon Clan? Is that dragon your mount?"

"No, I’m just an apprentice," Lynch replied, "As for a giant dragon mount, that’s something I wouldn’t even dare to imagine."

"Apprentice? You’re just an apprentice?" Zilvra widened her eyes: "If that’s the case, to what extent must those Great Mages be powerful?" She looked at the giant dragon that had become a small black dot on the horizon, talking to herself: "Now I understand why the Arcanists can master all dragons."

"Mage? Lynch, you’re a mage?" Van Dijk looked at Lynch in surprise, sizing him up, and pushed him vigorously: "Lynch, why would you take on such an evil profession? Have you forgotten the torment and destruction our Haisas people suffered at the hands of the mages? Are you true to your parents who raised you?"

"He’s true to anyone, old man!" Zilvra pulled out her sword: "You are so blinded by prejudice that you cannot see the power of a mage, nor understand their actions, yet you insist on imposing your biased views on Lynch. Such ignorant beings shouldn’t exist in this world!"

Lynch gestured for Zilvra to put the thin sword away. He let go of Van Dijk’s arm, silently walked into the cabin, and carried out the sleeping little angel.

"We will leave now," Lynch said to Van Dijk: "I will take the dinghy at the stern and will no longer trouble you."

The old sailor watched Lynch’s actions in silence, attempting to speak several times but failing to do so.

"Lynch!" Zilvra exclaimed: "Do people on the surface treat you like this? Are you going to let such views always shadow you?" She pointed at Van Dijk: "Even the ship he uses was repaired by you, yet he quietly lets you leave now..." 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝒆𝔀𝒆𝙗𝓷𝒐𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝓶

"Zilvra." Lynch gently placed Soka onto the dinghy: "I am merely walking my own path, past, and present. Perhaps this path crosses with many others, but I am very clear about which is truly my own."

"What do you mean, don’t speak in riddles." Zilvra cast one last glance at the old sailor, gracefully hopping onto the dinghy.

"I mean, do not forget the path that originally belonged to you because of others’ views. Isn’t that how you managed to leave Ratris City..."

Watching as the little dinghy drifted downstream, Van Dijk stood at the prow of the Shell, gripping the ship that had accompanied him for so many years tightly with both hands.

"You old fool, I am truly ashamed of you." The old sailor said angrily. He glanced at the pipe in his hand, releasing it gently, letting it slip into the flowing water of the Fengduo River, watching as it disappeared with a few bobbing movements...
