Magus Supremacy-Chapter 368: Being Protected by kids!
Chapter 368: Being Protected by kids!
Chapter 368
’Wait, I’m being protected by kids?! What the hell is going on?!’ Grey screamed inwardly as he stared at the scene unfolding in front of him—from Vanessa’s initial charge forward to the exploding battle.
’Funny enough, they are struggling, which is very obvious. But they’re still holding their ground, which is the most impressive thing. I don’t know how I’m doing it, but I can sense an energy swirling in them,’ Grey thought as he narrowed his eyes, trying to search his memory banks for why he could sense energies.
Then, a massive headache washed over him again. He quickly stopped searching while his hands shot up to his head, rubbing it and trying to calm the headache down.
’It’s like some unforeseen force doesn’t want me to regain my memories right now. Like they’re covering and hiding some things from me.’ Grey chuckled dryly at his own thoughts while watching the fight tensely.
’This energy I sense from them—is this Ki? I can sense it swirling around little Millie too. Although it’s quite little compared to these clan dudes. Damn, I feel so useless!
I wish, I wish I could help too. I feel weak, vulnerable, and useless at the same time. I bet I was the weakest person in whatever continent I came from.’ Grey scoffed in anger as he looked at his frail limbs with disdain.
’There’s nothing I can do but watch and hope that these kids can somehow manage to pull things off,’ he sighed as he saw Vanessa facing off against multiple men while Millie dealt with one.
She was skillful and fast, avoiding each swing and swat while skidding under the man and delivering her own hits. But she wasn’t getting anywhere with all these tag moves she was doing, and it was obvious until Vanessa decided to give her advice.
She used it—it worked—and she began jumping in excitement before something unprecedented happened.
Boom!
Bang!
A small explosion occurred, and something—or someone—was hurled into the air before falling right in front of her, beneath her feet. Glancing down, her small eyes widened in horror.
"Vanessa!"
"Kek, kek, kek!" The leader of the small group, who had been standing back, laughed in amusement. That caused Grey to look up and around, and he gulped loudly.
’Did she do this?’ Grey thought as he saw all the men Vanessa was facing sprawled on the floor, unconscious and writhing in pain.
Looking back down, Grey could see Vanessa covered in injuries. Her face was bleeding, part of her lip busted, parts of her clothes torn with blood painting them crimson.
In short, she was in bad shape. Meanwhile, the man in front of them was in full and good health as he kept chuckling at the duo in front of him.
"Is there a way we can get out of this?" Grey asked with a small nervous smile as Millie ran towards her sister and began shaking her.
"I had already given you all a chance to leave, only if you handed me the red-haired. But you refused—now see the results," the man sighed as he took a step forward while Grey gulped loudly.
"I hate to ask this of you, but Millie... can you fight?" Grey asked as he broke out in beads of sweat.
"I... I... I exhausted all my Ki. I don’t have any strength. Besides, if I did, do you think I can defeat someone my elder sister couldn’t?" Millie asked in between sobs as she turned back to look at her sister.
"Fair point." Grey sighed as he stopped backing away and took a deep breath before exhaling again, his eyes closed as he clenched his hands tightly.
"I have spent weeks here now, and I still can’t remember who I am. If it wasn’t for this nice family, I would be out on the streets, trying to survive—and I doubt I could even do that. Now you just went ahead and hurt one of their own. That’s not fair." Grey shook his head as he took small, steady steps forward.
"Oh?! What are you now going to do about it?" the man asked with a smirk, his arms folding casually.
"What else can I do?" Grey asked as he took a shaky stance, forcing a smile onto his face. "I will have to fight now."
"No, Brother Grey! He will kill you. Yun warriors are ruthless, and he is way above your level. Please come back here and let’s find a way to take Vanessa away from here." Millie pleaded in between sobs as she kept on shaking her sister.
"What did you just call me, Millie?" Grey asked without turning around, his voice quieter now.
"Brother," Millie replied, wiping her tears with the back of her hand as she glanced up at Grey.
"As your brother... do you really think I’ll just stand and watch while some bad uncle hurts you?" Grey’s voice softened slightly. "It’s my duty to protect you as your elder brother. You’re one person on my list I want to protect with my life." He smiled softly, but almost immediately, a wave of headache washed over him again.
"ARGH!" he shouted as he grabbed his head in pain, blurry images flooding his mind while the man stared in confusion.
"Come on, not now. Please, n—ARGHHH!" Grey roared as he fell to his knees, the headache intensifying as he struggled to make sense of the images flashing before his eyes.
He could see a blurry figure—a girl about the same height as Millie—but her face remained hidden. The more he tried to focus, the worse the pain became.
"Alright, I’ve had enough of all this nonsense." The clan member said as he leapt for Grey, Ki swirling around his hands.
With a resounding bang, his palm slammed into Grey’s chest, blood spraying from Grey’s mouth as his body was hurled backward into a wall.
Not just hurled—his body tore a gaping hole through the wall, sending debris flying as a sickening crunch echoed through the area, followed by a dull thud.
Then came an ear-piercing scream.
"BROTHER GREY!!!" Millie screamed with all her might, her eyes widening in horror as tears streamed down her face, her small frame trembling uncontrollably.
