Mated To The Demon Prince-Chapter 116: Your Destiny
She would be lying if she said Ree-ree didn’t scare her more than she could handle. That couldn’t be the enigma she was once crazy about.
After minutes of walking senselessly down a few sets of corridors, the feeling of being lost started to occur to her like a gut feeling and that could be the worst that could happen to her at this point.
The feeling of being followed also haunted her. She turned around to see a dark hooded figure following closely as if trying to catch up with her. When the figure kept following with each sharp turn she took, Eva decided to take to her heels and run for her dear life.
’’Eva!’’
She paused and turned at the call of her name. Her eyes widening in surprise at who was staring back at her. The cap of her hood drawn down as Eva stared at the Vampire princess in surprise.
She walked up to her and Andrea began leading them to a more isolated place for them to talk more without being interrupted by a demon.
What was she doing here?
How did she manage to sneak inside the dungeons without being hurt?
Was she sent down here to rescue her from this place?
☆
Andrea closed the door the moment they were in and Eva looked around to observe where she had been taken to. The room looked like it was an abandoned library or store house for whatever was under those dark, dusty clothes.
Andrea turned away from the door before the both of them embraced each other into a tight, warm hug. Tears of relief and happiness stinging the corner of her eyes as she hugged onto her best friend tighter.
’’Are you okay? Did he hurt or do anything offensive to you?’’
Eva shook her head and sniffed.
’’Oh, thank god,’’ Andrea brought her to herself again to envelope into another tight hug. Both sighing in relief. ’’I swore to break you out of this place if a single piece of you is not right.’’
Eva frowned then pulled away from her slowly.
Wasn’t that her reason for coming here? To get her out of this place.
’’What?’’ Eva sobbed out. ’’You didn’t come to get me out of here...’’
Andrea couldn’t bare how broken her voice sounded. She looked like her people betrayed her or something when they were all just blind fools doing as the Goddess’s wanted.
She gathered the girl’s hands in hers and tried to be calm as much as possible while she told her about the silly plans the goddess and everyone had for her.
’’You might hate all of us after you hear this, but this is your kidnapping is very much wanted by the Goddess yourself, and you know how your father can’t go against the goddess wish.’’
’’What...?’’ Eva couldn’t wrap her head around this. They were all planning on leaving her here to suffer with Ree-ree? She found that difficult to believe. She thought she was much more loved and adored by everyone back home to be left alone like this. Not only that, but she had thought a rescue team of angered wolves would have stormed down the dungeons by now to get her out. She had always thought the silence from her family was awfully suspicious.
’’Yes. But we desire to achieve something by your prolonged stay here.’’
’’What?’’ Eva looked so confused right now. Even her family were trying to manipulate her into staying here. It was all just too much for her to take in. It brought fresh tears running down her face.
’’I am so sorry, Eva that it has to be this way. But...’’ Eva stared down as the vampire placed a small dagger wrapped firmly in gold and dark-red thread in the palm of her hands. ’’...I also want to believe this is all part of your destiny.’’
After a long torturous moment of Andrea trying to explain what is expected of her to do with the god-slaying dagger and how she should use her kidnapping to her advantage and make them all proud. No one cared if she was interested in staying here or doing this. Everyone was just obsessed over her fulfilling destiny.
A destiny that wasn’t hers a few years ago.
Andrea tried her best to not make this seem like a terrible thing. Even encouraging her that it was something she could do for her freedom and everyone’s freedom from the demon prince.
’’No one knows I am even here with you with the god–slaying dagger.’’
’’What?’’ Eva turned to face the vampire as they sat shoulder–to shoulder on the ground in the room they locked themselves in.
’’I wanted to be the one to do this for you, but they weren’t allowing me, so I ran from home, broke into your father’s castle and stole the dagger before I journeyed down here to meet with you. I didn’t even expect to find you so easily or worse a demon should find me first, and then it will all be over.’’
Eva stared at her for the longest. ’’I forbid you from ever putting your life at risk for me ever again.’’
Andrea burst out laughing so hard but Eva didn’t find it at all amusing.
’’Don’t worry,’’ She began to rise to her feet. ’’I will be fine as long as my little werewolf friend is okay.’’
She stretched forth her hand and helped Eva back to her feet.
’’I will be hanging around in the dungeons until you succeed to leading you out of this place unscathed.’’
’’But...how am I to...?’’ She stared down at the dagger in her hands and looked to Andrea for help on how to go about this. They were really putting too much on her shoulders that she didn’t think she would last longer than this anymore.
’’You once said he wanted to make you his queen?’’
Eva pushed her lips sideways and gulped at how big her mouth was to mention that to her.
’’Yes, but it is unclear to me why he is...’’ she lied.
’’It is probably for some sort of sick revenge game he has in his wicked mind. You know, how blasphemous would it be to the Goddess herself if he made the daughter of the Alpha King and heir to the werewolf kingdom the queen of demons...you should get on with it and let him have his way with that? That’s your chance Evangeline to get so close to him enough to have this at his throat, and it would all be over.’’
Evangeline didn’t say anything as her heart kept falling apart bit by bit.
’’Do you understand what I am saying to you, Evangeline?’’
Eva took forever before she nodded her head.
’’Good. Take this groke egg and break it as soon as you are done, and I will come and get you out of here regardless of what.’’
’’Okay...’’ Eva brought out her other hands for her to place a weirdly shaped purple egg in her palms. It was cold to the touch.
Andrea pulled her once again into a final hug. ’’I love you so much Evangeline. We all do. I am so sorry it has to be this way, but we might never get a better chance than this.’’
Evangeline remained silent as the egg and the god-slaying dagger were being held limp by her sides.
They both stepped out of the room and waited until Andrea was safely out of her sight. She stared down at the small dagger in her hands in deep thought and a particular sentence that Andrea made kept replaying repeatedly in her head.
’ It is probably for some sort of sick revenge game he has in his wicked mind. You know, how blasphemous it would be to the Goddess if he made the daughter of the Alpha King and heir to the werewolf kingdom the queen of demons...you should get on with it and let him have his way with that.’
What if...
Just what if...
The only reason Ree-ree stepped into her life was to have her killed then thrown into his world into the body of the one destined to cause his ruin in an attempt to be able to control, manipulate and even have his bane in the grasp of his hands? It would not be easy to have Evangeline herself under his tunes, but it would be like a walk in the park if it were someone he had made to be so easily dependent on him for survival be inside the body of his bane to control and use as he pleases.
What if she was just another one of his weapons trapped inside this body to always and forever have the upper hand in this world?
’’Your Darkness! I have found her!’’
Eva quickly hid the god-slaying dagger within herself as she continued to overthink everything.
