Mated To The Demon Prince-Chapter 43: Interesting
Days after, Evangeline was slowly getting to adapt better in this world. Her first days were confusing but with the help of her faithful wolf, Vesta she was sailing through. She found herself getting attached to the life and family that were not hers. She was getting used to calling the Queen Luna of the Alpha community mom. It flowed so well from her lips and she was building a strong bond with Layla and Sisi.
It no longer felt weird being with them. They went to their lessons together, walked home and even studied in her room. They made her understand so many things while not being too suspicious. They made her realize that having friends and family that sees you as a God was not so bad.
She welcomed eating at the tables with them and it was fun. They all treated her properly and with respect. She smiled genuinely a few times and did her best to withstand Zayne and her other two brothers hateful glares.
Though none of them have yet to confront her, and it was comfortable knowing their hate does not include physical confrontations so far. They are the three people in this world she was sure hated her more than they do for the Demon Prince asides her rejected mate. She hasn’t heard anything from him ever since that day, though he promised to get back at her with the last look he gave her.
She couldn’t say he hated her—they are just both angry and repulsed at each other. She hasn’t truly known him to grow a solid amount of hate for him. And based on what she has seen in Evangeline’s memories, he is just one terrible person she wants to be far from.
Life has been smooth since, and nothing out of the ordinary has happened again. It is safe to say she has everything she’d ever wanted in her previous world right here while she disguises as Evangeline. She had loving and protective parents and a large family that sees her as a God. Millions of admirers who deeply believed she is some kind of Jesus that was finally going to bring peace to this world and save them from the devil. And of course, good friend that were loyal and didn’t make her journey in this world lonely.
Not to also forget about her awesome wolf who has been the best person to reach out to whenever she was confused about the littlest things.
Evangeline slowly began to zone out from Delta Maximus, teaching about the late eras of the legendary Alpha Kings that had contributed significantly to the werewolf community. She was so surprised to see many women like her also given the chance to have a taste in the power and be regarded as the Alpha King. Her eyes wondered off to the open window not too far from her seat. The window gave her an ethereal view of the ever falling snow from the sky.
How she was going to get used to this being their weather for all eternity was still baffling, but she was determined to cope and forgo all her beautiful memories and feelings she gets when it rains in her previous life.
A soft, sad sigh escaped her lips, and her seatmate didn’t fail to notice it.
What about Ree-ree?
How is it so convenient for him to withstand many days without being around her when she is literally about to go crazy the longer she is apart from him?
Or could he be around her without her knowing?
Evangeline’s gaze traveled round the classroom to pick the smallest sign of him being here with her.
It could be possible that he is around but choosing to keep to himself since he is practically invisible and all.
The disappointment was evident on her face, and she wondered how long she could endure without making sure he is still here with her.
It’s been a miracle how she has been keeping it all together, and it was smart of her to adjust to this strange world as a distraction from her longing for him and his presence.
Her family has been kind, offering to look for this person she randomly calls out for, but how would she make them understand that he is invisible, and only she could feel him?
She rested her cheeks on her palm in thoughts as Delta’s Maximus voice became nothing but background voice.
That world she visited when she was still chained to that prison in the disguise of a hospital, that lonely and timeless part of her mind where Ree-ree had a physical form...
What else can she do apart from dying that would take her to that place and keep her there forever with him?
It would be foolish to want to die again when dying only takes her to live someone’s else’s life in another universe. She was also having second thoughts about returning to her world and continue that loveless life. 𝐟𝕣𝕖𝐞𝐰𝕖𝚋𝐧𝗼𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝗰𝐨𝐦
What’s good if she could be a beautiful, beloved daughter of the Alpha King and have millions adore and value her existence? It’s tempting to take over her life completely, and she doesn’t think there is a way back to her old life. She could just remain here and be grateful.
Evangeline found herself nodding her head and readjusting herself in her seat.
She would just find a way to bring the most important part of her old life to this new one she is taking over. She would bring Ree-ree here to enjoy this after-life with her and maybe live happily ever after with no one around to judge or call her crazy.
’’That smile on your face tells me you have finally made up your mind.’’
Evangeline stiffened and turned to face the Elf prince in shock.
Ever since she knocked off one of his teeth some days ago, the elf prince disappeared and didn’t return to school. Numerous people teased her about driving their gorgeous school prince away on his first days! No one expected him to show up again today...looking better and even more handsome than he was when he left. He drove away the boy who was sitting next to her when the class was ongoing and claimed that this was ’’his seat’’.
It was ridiculous as there were plenty of empty seats around he could take, but was determined to be her permanent seatmate throughout this course.
Who in their right mind would still want to tolerate someone that punched you so hard in the face, enough to lose a few teeth and ego? No one really saw him the same way again—in terms of his martial skills and strength. And he also looked strangely not bothered by it.
He turned to move close to her, causing her to lean back in surprise. Thankfully, Delta Maximus had his back turned away from the class. If not, they would be in so much trouble not busy taking down notes.
Evangeline was fazed by his sudden closeness, his beautiful green eyes observing her intently and she did not know how to control herself. Especially her racing heart.
’’It is beautiful to see you smile.’’
His voice alone was enough to calm the whole universe. Her eyes widening at his compliment, and she prayed her cheeks weren’t as hot as she was feeling right now.
’’I was always curious about you before I got to see you in the flesh. I wanted to see if your god-given strength weren’t the only beautiful thing there is about you.’’
’’....’’
Evangeline didn’t know which was right to do at that moment. To let go of her breath or calm her restless heart?
Her eyes moved back and forth when he brought a finger close and gently pushed back a strand of her white hair from her face and behind her hair.
’’You are a very interesting person, Your Highness,’’ Prince Charming confessed.
’’And I am only particularly drawn to interesting people.’’
