That wasn’t the only weird thing prince charming did that day.

After surviving keeping a straight face with him watching her throughout, she managed to slip and avoid him until it was time for her karate lesson where she had to say goodbye to Layla and Sisi. Though she was yet to know exactly what they did as their selective course.

’’Do I have to go through this lesson alone again,’’ She whined to her best friends who gave her sympathetic looks as they prepared to leave for their next class.

Evangeline pouted with her arms folded across her chest in disbelief. ’’How come I chose fighting lessons that will keep me away from you both?’’

Not to talk about how scary and intense her lessons were. It involved getting to land blows on each other and inflict pain while also nursing one as well. Miraculously, it looks like whenever it was her turn, she gets possessed by the entity that gives inhuman strength which saved her from having even a single scratch on her face and body. While her classmates kept appearing day by day with more bruises and injury on them—she just looked as fresh and healthy as a newborn baby.

Which wasn’t kind of fair if she wanted to follow her conscience. But it wasn’t her fault a spirit thought it wasn’t proper to be brutally murdered by all those strong men in her class.

She still couldn’t fathom Evangeline’s obsession with taking down the demon prince. She has never seen anyone take their purpose in life so seriously as her. It was sad as well as scary to know it would be her that would be made to face that rumored monster to kill him.

If she ever wants to make this life hers and this world more enjoyable for her and Ree-ree to live in, she also needs to take the agenda of assassinating the devil of this world more seriously and stop complaining.

Layla sighed as she picked up her bag and placed a comforting hand on her friend’s shoulder.

’’You got this, Eva. Maybe after today’s lesson we could go visit grandmother supreme to relief us of our stress.’’

I wonder who that is.

’’Also, you would have to explain to us why Prince Xalith has been following you around all day,’’ Layla smiled and winked.

It brought horror to her face when she turned to see the Elf Prince lingering around in the corridor waiting for someone.

’’It wouldn’t be that lonely going to your next lesson now,’’ Layla dared teased her with a silly chuckle before leaving with Sisi.

She stood there in the empty class trying to understand this strange behavior of this prince.

What does he want from her?

’’Your friends seems nice.’’

She blinked severely before turning around to face him with a nervous smile. The way he looked at her from head to toe made her look left and right for another entrance since he was currently leaning on the main one.

’’So you have friends,’’ he nodded as if taking note before bringing those beautiful gaze down at her again. ’’I hate having so many friends. I am only looking for one person that would play the role of it all in my life. A friend...a lover...someone I could talk to only for the rest of my life...’’

Evangeline threw him another awkward smile. Wishing him all the best in finding that person.

The silence between them after was cut short when she cleared her throat and offered to start going to their next lesson or else, they were going to be late.

As expected, he made sure he sat next to her during their karate lesson, and she could not ignore how people were starting to look and wonder why they were seen around each other a lot today.

After they were done for the day, she carried her bag and left to join her friends waiting for her at the front of the school building. She waved at them at the top before descending the stairs towards them.

’’Your Highness!’’ Evangeline froze three steps from reaching her friends at the sound of his voice. Even Layla and Sisi blinked to see him coming down the steps behind Evangeline.

When she was sure he was behind her, she turned around to face him, wondering what he wants again this time. She saw the curious glances of her mates as they passed by them. Evangeline fumbled with her fingers when he did nothing but stare at her.

Her eyes widened with her friends when Prince charming brought out a small purple pouch and placed it in her palms. Both Layla and Sisi could be seen holding their breaths and trying not to blush on her behalf.

Evangeline tried to understand him and his behavior. A deep blush spread on her freckled cheeks when she loosened the small pouch to have a peek at what was inside.

She looked up to meet his tall form for his reasons behind this.

’’No one can say they have ever received a gift from me. And like I said before to you, I am only drawn to interesting people and I tend to see them as worthy of my gifts. It is one of a kind in my kingdom, and not just anybody can come across The purple jade of life.’’

Her blush deepened when he leaned close to observe her closely. They seemed to sparkle the more he got close.

’’It is more beautiful when you observe it in the dark, and it is a great source of comfort,’’ He smiled, making her heart more restless than it should be. ’’Cherish them, Your Highness.’’

Evangeline found herself turning on her heels to look at him as he left. She seemed captivated by him, and could it be that he was the first person to ever gift her something so exquisite and rare?

Why would he choose her to be the first person he would ever bless with a precious gift?

Should she feel honored when it only left her more restless, wondering why he was acting this way towards her?

She stared down at the expensive gift in the palm of her hands with a billion questions buzzing in her head about this prince.
