Mated To The Demon Prince-Chapter 45: Grandmother Supreme 1
Layla and Sisi teased her all the way home. They were saying silly things that the Elf Prince was falling in-love with her. Which couldn’t be possible judging by how they were introduced to each other and the number of days they’ve spent together.
’’You can’t fall in-love with someone you met within a week,’’ she countered back when they wouldn’t stop. It took her years before she realized her feelings for Ree-ree. How was it now possible to fall hopelessly in-love with a person you’ve just seen in less than...four days?
But once again, she was not on earth but in another world where crazy things are the norms here.
’’What do you mean?’’ Layla asked, with her hands still around hers as they walked. Sisi looked distracted by a little bug flying over her face. ’’You fell hopelessly in-love with your m—I mean, ex-mate in less than a day. Then you began taking sacrifices up to the temple of the moon begging the moon goddess to pair you up with him.’’
Evangeline didn’t say anything but stared down at her feet moving on the snowy grounds. She wasn’t sure if she would stay here and this body would be permanent. Who knows, God might have better plans for her, and she wakes up in the body of another in a different world. She wasn’t sure if it was proper to tell them some of Evangeline’s darkest secrets. Like how the Alpha of whatever the fuck pack was taking advantage of her and even controlling her to do certain things.
How the nasty Alpha was able to claim dominance over her and her life was still a mystery she was interested in knowing more.
Evangeline sighed and turned to face her friend clinging to her side.
’’But where did that love lead us to? We rejected each other on the night of our mating ceremony.’’
Layla pouted and looked down in thought.
’’Love is a big word and a very complicated feeling. It is something you can’t rush into, and it needs time to blossom. A mere feeling could trick you into thinking you are in-love with this person when you are not if you are rushing. Don’t also forget that some ’’feelings’’ comes with benefits.’’
Layla parted her lips and frowned at Eva for daring to think the famous Elf prince would stoop so low to take advantage of her.
Evangeline stared back at her, not knowing what she said wrong.
’’What?’’
’’It’s scary when you talk like that.’’
Talk like how?
’’Maybe a commoner can do that, but a royal can never pretend to be interested in someone just for his selfish gains. They are always loyal to one person. No one has ever courted the Elf Prince before, and you are the first person we’ve seen receive something this rare and precious from him. It should make you feel special not doubting his intentions. I am sure he means well.’’
They continued their walk, with Evangeline’s mind restless with so many things. The gift he gave her resting in her palms. He is the first person to give her something. She wouldn’t lie when his act warmed the coldest region of her heart and for a moment, she felt...
’’Ah, finally, we are here.’’
Evangeline gazed up as they paused before a massive house not too far from where the Palace was. Stone brick walls covered with snow circled the building and its large compound. The entrance was void of any gate. This was supposed to be the house of grandmother supreme who she learned from her wolf was their ancestral grandmother who has been heavily blessed by the moon goddess and made her forefront disciple after a life-changing encounter with the goddess herself.
Evangeline watched Layla move her hands towards the main entrance. Her hands made contact with an invisible barrier that became visible by a touch. It shimmered with a blue-white energy before splitting apart, unraveling like fabric being sliced cleanly in two by sharp scissors.
V-V-V... Vesta? What the hell just happened?
We are entering the house of your ancestral grandmother and walking into one of the holiest grounds in all of Astoria. Only one with royal blood flowing through their veins could break through that barrier and access her house.
Evangeline kept walking behind Layla and Sisi, who looked more excited to meet this anointed being by the moon goddess. Vesta continued to prompt her about who she was going to meet.
The house looked old but neat. It was excessively decorated with different statues of wolves and the moon goddess all around them. Her eyes widened a bit when behind one of the trees was an altar with blood stains and heads of animals that had been sacrificed to their deity. She never knew the moon goddess was also into that shit.
Evangeline looked up to the sky and noticed something odd about this place.
Grandmother supreme is an anointed one of the moon goddesses. She prayed for three hundred days non-stop to stop the curse of the snow from falling wherever she was.
Interesting.
It was obviously a curse to have only snow falling on them for the rest of their lives. She noticed how Grandmother Supreme’s massive compound flourished with tulips and the surrounding trees were green and gave her the illusion of early spring.
If this anointed one is so powerful enough to appeal to the moon god to stop the snow from falling on wherever she is, how come she can’t plead to the moon god to stop the snow from falling non-stop in this realm?
They reached a pair of wooden sliding doors, and she followed their movements in taking off their winter boots and coats, laying it neatly beside the door before stepping into the house on bare feet.
They entered to be met with a large room with wooden floorboards and ceilings. Multiple pillars made of wood were around them as the atmosphere instantly felt calming and close to complete peace.
She followed the two to sit on her knees on soft red cushions arranged before a raised platform. A woman who should be younger than the ages of their mothers sat crisscrossed with her eyes closed in deep concentration. Her hands joined to form an inverted triangle and Evangeline could see her radiating an energy so strong that it was visible from where they sat. A solid ring of light was moving around her at snail’s pace.
Evangeline followed their movements when Layla and Sisi bowed their heads to the ground before this woman.
When she heard grandmother supreme, she was thinking of an aged woman that could be bedridden or couldn’t walk without the aid of a stick. But not this young woman that could be mistaken for her mother’s youngest sister!
This world is indeed full of many wonders, and she was sure this was just the peak of it all.
