Mated To The Demon Prince-Chapter 80: Promise To
But why is he doing all these things to her?
He promised to kill her and then...there is a citizen of the dungeon roaming freely in her country just because of her. Why was the demon prince so interested in her?
’’You know, I could report you all to my father that you all had me kidnapped and beaten. I will also tell him you don’t belong in Astoria and nothing like a werewolf.’’
She swore she heard a loud hiss come from him. But that was it. He didn’t say anything else and continued to walk faster towards the castle, and she tried her best to catch up with him.
’’At least, may I know your name? It would be easier to report you to him?’’
She almost ran into his strong back when he stopped abruptly to face her with another insidious glare. It didn’t help when his eyes were more of a snake than a being with two arms and legs. They were cruel, but she had this feeling he wouldn’t try anything funny with her.
’’What?’’
She asked when he wouldn’t stop looking at her.
Her eyes followed his movements when he began to pull out a small pouch to give her. She stared at the pouch confused and slowly collected it from his hold.
She opened it to see what was inside and pulled out a very black, jelly like sweet—that was the best way she could describe this thing.
’’What...kind of gift is this?’’ She asked, careful not to come out as rude or anything.
She heard that snakes hiss from him again. This time solid and louder.
’’Eat.’’ He said and she appeared flabbergasted.
’’What?’’ Her voice cut through the cold air with a sharp hiss, her eyes remained on this entity in disbelieve. Then it occurred to her that this must have been a well-thought-out plan between him and the demon prince.
Lead her off his hands to avoid being blamed and forced her to consume this thing that would send her straight to heaven in a minute.
Well, he never said he wouldn’t kill me.
She thought it would be a million years from now on. How is a million years according to the demon prince? A few hours?
She gulped, looking left and right for the best direction to run too should things get overheated between them.
’’What could this be before I put it in my mouth?’’
The entity hiding under human skin hissed again and seemed already irritated by her many questions. She expected her to corporate with him right away and make this much easier for him. He noticed how her eyes would move back and forth seeking an escape route should he try to force her to eat what was on her hands. It was absurd when she thought she had a chance to escape from him.
’’Just eat it.’’ He hissed back angrily at her. The she-wolf was wasting his time. He should have safely delivered her home by now and returned to his master as instructed. But the she-wolf was being unnecessarily doubtful and suspicious about their intentions. She should have grown more faith in them by now after coming up for her in different ways to offer their protection.
She stared back at him in horror and a bit of disbelieve.
’’I should eat this...and die? Do I really look like a fool to the both of you?’’
Of course, you are.
Apophis hissed in him.
If you aren’t, you wouldn’t agree to have an evening tea with those that made it so obvious to never like you.
’’Or maybe I might look like one to you, but no sane person would just put in their mouth what...’’
The remaining words buried along with the sweet being forced down her throat by the snake.
Evangeline almost choked multiple times as she felt the thing slid down her throat with its terrible taste.
She tried to cough it out and even to vomit it. But it was probably swimming in her digestive juices, and she could start feeling the effects of the poison on her.
Eva tried again and again to get it off her system but failed. Only irritating the serpent the more with her retching sounds. Her teary gaze then landed on him hotly in fury.
How dare he?
’’How could you do that—ah!’’
Eva was thrown over his shoulder and he continued to move despite how uncomfortable she felt being in his position. She begged him multiple times to put her down even swearing never to scold him for forcing poison down her throat, but he refused.
Blood drained to her head with each step he took and all she could see was the back of his heels moving against the snow. Her vision slowly began to blur and Eva couldn’t tell if it was because of the poison or that her upper body is hanging this way.
Nevertheless, she grew light head and at a point wanted to puke again. Wouldn’t it be satisfying to do so all over his shoulder? Maybe he would then be motivated to let her go!
Eva’s eyes began to fall close, and she started to lose control over keeping it open still. They were heavy, and she couldn’t feel most parts of her body too.
Was that drugs they forced down her throat?
She started reeling from the effects and feared she was just feeling this way because she was being poisoned, and her body was giving up on her gradually.
Apophis carried her all the way back to the castle regardless of her whining and pleas to be let down. He could guess she might not want his company any more should he listen to her.
The scariest thing about this was their master must not know about how he was treating her presently but the little she-wolf he has been assigned to look after gave him no other choice but this.
She would soon forget all about this when she wakes up. There was no point in apologizing once she is awake.
