Chapter 86: For The Future

"So, your Majesties! These are esteemed scholars, trainers gathered for you all by the Alpha King from all realms!" The female wolf guard said in her loud and strong voice as they all assembled before a raised platform sitting on a large sheet of ice.

They were all dressed comfortably in winter wears that would also be comfortable for all kinds of training they would be exposed to. The surrounding air was harsh and unwelcoming, but it was something they had to sacrifice for this.

For the future. 𝒻𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝘯𝘰𝑣ℯ𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝘮

Evangeline stood at the forefront as ordered by the female wolf guard who she later learned from Vesta to be the chief when it comes to training and giving warriors proper education. Prince Xalith stuck to her side as expected— it was getting deeply concerning with his weird attachment to her. And by her left was the fearsome Vampire Princess. The heiress to the Vampire kingdom.

She stood the tallest and firm. Her eyes set in determination as she listened and stared at each of their new instructors that would be responsible for their private education and training for a cause. She was the least covered in terms of cold. It could be because she is already cold as a Vampire. But not that wolves are vulnerable to this cold.

The snow had ceased its rain on them since last night. They were all just standing on thin ice and slowly melting snow. The sun peaking dully from the clouds and casting this soft yet bizarre orange glow on them.

Evangeline turned away the moment the Vampire princess sensed her staring her way. She would rather not be caught staring. Especially not by an intimidating Vampire princess.

"Meet Alpha Lorraine of the Moon glow pack!"

Evangeline’s blue eyes met with the warm brown eyes of a gorgeous, strong woman. She had a bald head underneath her winter coat cap. Her facial structures were intimidating, but the welcoming smile on her lips made her a bit relaxed.

She didn’t expect her dad would go as far as asking an alpha to come indulge them in rigorous training for the approaching war between light and darkness.

They were obviously going to be receiving the best training ever than they would ever get in their normal school setting. Vesta had once educated her about the uniqueness of a Alpha and being one.

Not only are you blessed with the strongest wolf ever and carrying the supreme light of leadership in you from the moon goddess, but you are like a father or mother figure to a certain group of wolves. They have entrusted you with their life and all. And you must be dedicated to protect the pack you are in-charge of with your life as well.

A female Alpha was something. Which means she was stronger to be entrusted with such a powerful and coveted role.

How females are involved in every aspect of this world is admirable. You are not allowed to laze around in this world when you are one. You are equally important and treated as one.

You could even be the Alpha or the King of Alphas if you wanted to be.

You could also be the chosen one and the fate of the world would be resting on your shoulders which you shouldn’t allow yourself to fuck it up!

Evangeline gulped as she zoned back in to what the female Wolf guard was saying about the Female Alpha who has been recruited to train them for some time.

"...as you can see, she is an Alpha. There is no room for disrespect coming from any of you. And I don’t care if any of you is the moon goddess’s son or daughter...the fact remains you respect your elders! If she complains to me of you giving her a hard time here, I wouldn’t hesitate to have you flogged one hundred times with an ice whip."

Eva’s eyes widened at the cruelty.

"I have the permission of the Alpha King himself to do whatever I see is best to get you all invested in this special training of his. And a written consent from each of your parents to discipline you accordingly to your misbehavior. So, don’t you dare disrespect any of your teachers. Am I understood?"

Silence.

The female Wolf guard’s eyes narrowed at their lack of motivation for this. They all stared at her fearfully like she was the demon prince herself when she was just doing all she can to gain some level of control over them.

Whether she likes to admit it or not, there would still be some of them who would want to be rebellious or have things their way. It was something she was told by their parents or guardians never to tolerate.

"I said, am. I. understood?"

They all nodded their heads at her as fast as they could.

"Good. She would be responsible for training your wolf to fight better! So, get ready to shift more often throughout this training course."

What?

Evangeline stiffened before taking quick gulps of saliva. She does not know how to shift.

Don’t stress about it. I got you.

Vesta said quickly to calm her down a bit.

The female wolf guard went on to the next person who resembled a monk person, but he wasn’t. He had so many wooden and some carved beads around his neck and body. He seemed cool and someone with little to no stress on his mind. Like a philosopher who has understood every mystery behind every working of the world and the human behavior.

Someone you could sit around with and have real talks with about life and feel inspired never to give up. He was average height. Evangeline was a bit taller than him on the shoulder level.

"Here is our one and only Shege sage. Your teacher on principles, balance, spirituality, wisdom, leadership and of course, the integrity of being a warrior. He would be having sessions with you here most of the days of the week, and you are all expected to be punctual when he calls for a class with you. Is that clear?"

Evangeline and the rest of her mates nodded in understanding before their eyes followed her as she walked up to the last teacher on stage.

"Khayan here has agreed to train you on the proper use of your swords and various individual abilities like superfast reflexes for the likes of the Vampires. He came from a very far and undisclosed kingdom, and he has been accessed by the Alpha King himself of what he is capable of. A lonely traveler in this world and seeker of greater purpose. He has fought in many battles and has many great scars to show of the nightmarish stories of each. He had never lost to any enemy regardless of most times being outnumbered or possibly overwhelmed. He is always a victor."

Everyone’s eyes landed on the mysterious figure in awe. The figure only observed each of them in silence. His face was completely disfigured and bashed with multiple weapons of war. One of his eyes was totally gone and every inch of his face crying out a story of how they were brutally wounded.

For some reason, he did look a bit pleasing to stare at and not turn your face aside in disgust.

"It would be more than nice of you to make Khayan’s stay here while he strives to bring out the best in all of you memorable and conducive. He rarely trains or shares his knowledge on being the perfect warrior to anyone. Even to young, aspiring ones as yourself. It took a lot for the Alpha King to convince him and bring him all the way here to be a blessing to each of you."

"Don’t you dare turn out to be ungrateful."

Ungrateful as in not being the perfect warrior who is strong enough to face the Demon Prince after this training or...

"And I will be in-charge of your overall welfare in this training camp. If you need anything, or you have complaints, suggestions etcetera...you come to me."

Noted.

Eva nodded her head but turned around as the people behind her seemed distracted by something.

Everyone parted or made way for him as he walked up to them with an aura you couldn’t possibly define.

He was putting on a cloaked figure that revealed a bit of his well-sculptured chest. The cloak was as dark as midnight, with little spirals of gold tracing a very peculiar outline around the edges.

His darkened gaze observing each and every one of them as he continued to move in-between them like he owned the whole world.

He had everyone’s lips falling in amazement of his dark beauty and aura. He was definitely the tallest creature Evangeline has ever laid her eyes on.

The cap of the cloak concealing his dark brown hair she was sure was longer than hers.

A dark moon resting under one of his gorgeous gaze. It was tattooed in the most blasphemous way an entity like him could.

Evangeline’s breath ceased when he stood right in front of her as she was the only one who hadn’t stepped aside for him yet. The one who was still taking forever to recover from this entity sudden appearance.

It was difficult to make eye contact with him and all they could hear was her non-stop racing heart.

He that stood before her waiting for her to move, Darkness tilted his head a bit to the side at her as she was taking forever.

"Oh, least we forget to introduce to you, your comfort and endurance teacher."
