Chapter 95: Dagger Of Rebirth

Prince Xalith could be seen breathing heavily as he exhausted all of him to destroy the obstacle of death Evangeline was being manipulated to go through.

"Xalith...Xalith!"

Eva was by his side the moment the prince collapsed and fell unconscious on the snow. Using a huge amount of mana without the right amount of cultivation in a weakened state could cause more harm and good. The ice cube wrapped around Lucy was also smashed into half, giving her the opportunity to free herself before it grew worse.

"Hey, hey, Xalith? Xalith!" Eva shook the prince she brought to her laps continuously as tears flowed down her eyes, begging him to wake up. Andrea was by her side in an air’s breath to examine the situation. She quickly placed two of her fingers under the prince’s nose and everyone held their breaths while they waited for Andrea to either ease their panic or add more wood to the flames.

"What? What? Is he okay?"

Andrea pulled back her hands with confusion drawn on her face.

"I...can’t say."

Both Eva and Andrea shared a confused look.

"But we better get him back inside to find out and help him before it is too late."

Andrea, blessed with the strength of a vampire was able to carry the unconscious prince over shoulder and hurriedly began to leave with the rest. Evangeline balled her hands into tight fist and turned on her heels to face the reason for all this.

Her eyes moved around in mild confusion as she remained on a spot, and he was nowhere to be found. She waited back a bit to see if she could catch any sign of him. When she found none, she turned around and began to leave. Her mind trying to process why all these had to happen.

She also made up her mind to write a letter personally to her dad explaining how her and her training mates do not feel comfortable training under him and urgent replacement would be much appreciated.

"Your Eminence, the dagger of rebirth has been born."

Ira’s eyes flew open from her seated position on her high throne as three of her moon guards presented themselves before her.

"Really?"

The leader of the three nodded his head as they both rose to their feet after acknowledging her presence. Ira’s eyes darted left and right in urgency before bouncing to her feet and leaving her moonlit throne room with the moon guards heavy on her trail.

The dagger of rebirth.

Ira inched close to the very sacred bowl of creation. A very rare asset she had to fight the previous owner to make it hers. The only thing a God bows to and works with to bring forth whatever it wants. It has every power of life, birth, death, creation etc. encapsulated in it and bounded in its clear milky water. It just needs the essence of a divine power (the state of a God) to activate or tap into its mysteries to bring forth whatever the God wants and wishes to rule over.

The small dagger, not longer than a small bread knife floated on the milky water inside the golden bowl of creation. It’s markings ancient, evil and unreadable. She had put almost all the divine essence within her and cultivated it into this bowl to bring about this peculiar weapon that could be the reason for the total annihilation of her enemy and the one that wages war non-stop on her beloved moon and creation.

She picked up the dagger slowly from the water by the handle clothed in a dark-red and golden threads. The birth of this dagger they have all been anticipating as long as the age of the moon cost her a heavy price.

A sacrifice.

A promise to the very roots of creation.

She cradled the dagger gently in her arms and turned to her army of moon guards that has gathered by her feet and ready to do her every bidding. She held the dagger up enough for them to all see and join in her joy.

He knows something about her that could bring about her downfall. He could decide to end her now if he was ready.

But there was nothing for her to fear anymore now with this in her grasp. They were now finally both equals in this game of hate, vengeance, obsession and hidden feelings.

She has been his to destroy for a long time now. But the tables have shifted. 𝐟𝗿𝐞𝚎𝚠𝐞𝚋𝕟𝐨𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝕔𝕠𝚖

He was now hers to kill.

Everyone including Evangeline lingered in the hallway not to far from where healers back home in Astoria’s castle were currently attending to a still unconscious Xalith.

News had not circulated as to why he is taking longer than usual to recuperate. The healers said he passed out due to exhaustion. However it has been more than fifteen hours since the incident.

For long, would they have to wait for his recovery?

Yet so far, there hadn’t been any frightening news of any form of injury done to him both externally and internally. Which was a major relief.

"You should get some rest to,"

Eva looked up to see Andrea leaning on the opposite side of the window present in the hallway.

"Everyone has retired to their rooms. We are the only ones left."

Eva shook her head, determined to remain here until she confirms that he is indeed fine. "No, I’m fine."

Andrea shook her head at her in disbelief. She was obviously so close to dozing of before she came to meet her.

"Is the feeling between you two mutual?"

"What?"

Silence danced between them for a moment before Eva slowly began to shake her in denial of developing feelings for Xalith too. She has always seen him as a friend—-an annoying one. Nothing more or else.

Andrea just sighed softly and straightened herself from her leaning position on the wall close to the window.

"Please let me know when you ready to be truthful to yourself."

What?

"Xalith is in there, comfortably tucked under nice covers and in a deep sleep. So, why don’t we deserve one to?" She said before walking away rendering Evangeline speechless. She stood there for a few minutes before deciding to return to her room as well. A familiar figure wandering around in the snow from the window grabbed her attention causing her to...
